Not good

Beloved of All
I’m not strong enough to pray or read the Bible anymore. I turned in some truthful documents only to be accused of wrong doing I can’t take it

We hear your heart and we are standing with you in this heavy moment when you feel you cannot go on and you do not even have the strength to pray or to open the Bible. We want you to know that God sees you, He hears even the groanings that have no words, and He is not disappointed in your weakness.

When we have no strength, God does not turn away. His word reminds us that He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might He increases strength, Isaiah 40:29. And when we cannot find words to pray, the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Romans 8:26. Your inability to pray right now does not cut you off from God, it is an invitation for Him to carry you.

We also hear the pain of doing what was right and truthful only to be accused of wrongdoing. That is a deep injustice and it wounds the soul. We want to remind you that God is a God of truth and justice and He sees what was done in integrity even when others misjudge. The Lord says to cast your burden on Yahweh and He will sustain you, Psalm 55:22, and to cast all your worries on Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. Jesus Himself was falsely accused though He was perfectly truthful and He understands this suffering. Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven, Matthew 5:10. Your truthfulness matters to God and He will be your defender in His time.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus and we want to gently share why that name is so important. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon Him, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved, Romans 10:9. He is our mediator, our comforter, and our strength when we have none.

We are praying for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You who feels weak, weary, and falsely accused. Lord, You see the truth of what was done and You know the integrity of these documents and the pain of being blamed for wrongdoing. We ask You to be their vindication and their peace. When their heart is overwhelmed, lead them to the rock that is higher than they are, Psalm 61:2. Draw near to them for You are near to those who have a broken heart and You save those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. Give them rest for Jesus said come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. Let them feel Your presence when they cannot read or pray, let Your Spirit pray through them, and renew their strength day by day. We ask that You surround them with godly counsel and community so they are not alone, and guard their heart and mind with Your peace which surpasses all understanding, Philippians 4:7. We pray for justice and for truth to be revealed, and above all that they would know they are held by You and not forsaken. Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to not walk through this alone. Please reach out to a trusted pastor, a mature believer, or a counselor who can sit with you, pray aloud for you when you cannot, and help you navigate these accusations with wisdom. Even a short prayer like Jesus help me is enough, and even listening to the Word when reading feels too hard can bring comfort. God is not measuring your performance, He is holding you in His hand and He will carry you through this valley.

We hear how heavy this feels right now, and we are glad you told us honestly. Doing what you believed was right by turning in truthful documents and then being accused in return is a painful and disorienting experience. It makes sense that you feel worn down and unable to pray or open your Bible like you want to.

Please hear that not having strength for words right now does not mean you are failing or that God has stepped away. When we are exhausted, even a quiet sigh or a simple honest thought is still prayer to Him. You do not have to push yourself to do more than you can today.

It can help not to carry this alone. Would you consider reaching out today to one safe person, a pastor, a trusted friend or family member, or a counselor, and letting them know you are feeling overwhelmed and accused and need someone with you in this? If this sense of being unable to cope keeps weighing on you, we also encourage you to talk with your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer, just to have extra support while you walk through this.

You have already taken a brave step by reaching out here. We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see the truth of what happened and the hurt of being accused. You see how tired they are. Please bring comfort, rest, and wise, kind people around them to help carry this burden. Give them clarity for next steps and remind them they are not alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is no small trial to feel too weak even to pray or to open the Scriptures, and to be accused for doing what was truthful and right. To do the honest thing and then to be charged with wrongdoing cuts very deeply, and it is no wonder that your heart feels spent and unable to take more.

Hear this for your comfort, that your standing before God does not rest upon the strength of your prayers or the steadiness of your reading, but upon One who abideth for ever in the power of an endless life. He stands in absolute perfectness under every strain, and therefore the covenant stands in Him. As He is well pleasing to the Father, so in Him are you well pleasing to the Father also, for your being in Him identifies you with Him. When you have no strength, He has all strength for you.

You say you are not strong enough to pray. That very sense of infirmity is where the Holy Spirit meets us, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought until He teaches us. Where there is true prayer for grace in the heart, the prayer is heard before it is offered, for it is grace that makes us pray at all. Even a sigh, even a groan that cannot shape itself into words, is heard by Him who helps our infirmities. You need not have eloquent prayers. A broken whisper, a tearful looking to Christ, is prayer indeed.

And this season of being ill treated for truth telling, though bitter, is a time when Christ draws especially near. He was Himself numbered with transgressors and falsely accused by His enemies, and He knows the sting of such injustice. Our Savior said, In that day you will ask in My name, meaning that persecution should be a reminder to pray more earnestly than ever. Let this accusation drive you not from the mercy seat but to it. The Lord delights in mercy and wills not your distress, and He has promised to give the Holy Spirit to assist in prayer.

Do not conclude that because your feelings are low your faith has failed. It is written, They shall not depart from me, and that promise is secured not by your hold on Christ but by His hold on you. You are in His hands, and many attempts may be made to pluck you thence, but His hands do not fail. Seek to live near to God even in this small way, to abide in Him. If you cannot read many chapters, read a single verse and let your soul rest upon it. Look again to the rock whence you were hewn, and remember what He has done for you in bringing you from darkness to light. That remembrance will bring forth meekness and hope.

Be careful for nothing, be prayerful for everything, and commit your way unto the Lord. Trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass. He can save you now at this hallowed spot as surely as at the first day you trusted Him. Men may misjudge your truthful documents, but God sees and He will vindicate the right in His own time and way.

I will pray for you, that the Lord will sustain you under this accusation, lift this heavy burden from your spirit, restore to you strength to pray and to feed upon His Word, and make you to lie down in green pastures again. May He keep you from falling and present you faultless, and may His goodness and mercy follow you through this trial and all your days.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
