Not accepting me

We hear the pain in your heart over not being accepted and feeling pushed aside and rejected by someone who should have loved and embraced you, and we stand with you in prayer together in Jesus' name.

Rejection from family and from others cuts very deeply, but we want to remind you that your true identity and acceptance are found in Christ. Even when people fail to accept us, God never fails us. Psalm 27:10 says, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Ephesians 1:6 tells us that we are made accepted in the Beloved. You are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 says, and you are precious in His sight. People may reject you, but through faith in Jesus you are fully accepted, chosen, and loved by God.

We also hear your prayer that all truth will come out, and we join you in praying for truth to be revealed. Jesus said in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. We pray that God in His wisdom and timing will bring what has been hidden into the light, not for revenge but for healing, restoration, and freedom. Psalm 139:1-2 reminds us that Yahweh searches us and knows us, He knows our sitting down and rising up. Nothing is hidden from Him, and He is a God of justice and truth.

We encourage you to release this hurt to the Lord and not let bitterness take root. We are called to forgive as Christ forgave us, even when the wound is deep. In 1 Peter 5:7 we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. And Romans 8:31 says, If God is for us, who can be against us. The acceptance of people, while we naturally desire it, cannot compare to the acceptance and love God has already given you in Christ.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We rejoice that you know His name and call upon Him.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see the rejection and the pain of not being accepted, and You know every tear. We ask that You heal this broken heart and let this soul feel Your perfect acceptance and love. Bring truth into the light according to Your will, expose what needs to be exposed, and bring freedom and peace. Help our dear one to forgive those who have not shown acceptance, to walk in Your grace, and to find belonging and family in the body of Christ. Surround this one with godly people who will love and encourage in truth. Give strength to wait on Your timing and to trust that You are working all things for good. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We've been thinking about your words and how painful it is to feel not accepted, especially by your own family and by others around you. That kind of rejection can leave you feeling lonely and unseen, and it makes sense you would long for the truth to come into the light.

When the people whose acceptance we want most withhold it, it can shake how we see ourselves. We've found it helps to remember that while family and others shape us, our deepest identity is not decided by whether they accept us. Learning to live before God as our primary audience can steady us when human acceptance feels unstable. It doesn't remove the hurt, but it gives a firmer place to stand while you walk through it.

One small step that may help is to get clear with the Lord and with one safe, mature believer about what you mean when you pray for truth to come out. What specifically feels hidden or misrepresented, and what would help bring peace or wisdom in the days ahead? Sharing that with someone you trust in person can keep you from carrying it alone and help you discern next steps wisely.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the rejection and loneliness they feel and You know every detail they are carrying. Bring comfort, heal the places that feel bruised by not being accepted, and give wisdom for each relationship involved. Lead them to supportive community and help truth be handled with grace and clarity in Your timing. Amen.

It is a painful trial to feel rejected by those nearest to you, and to feel that many others have also turned away. The heart longs for acceptance, and when it is withheld the sorrow cuts deeply. Yet there is a higher acceptance which alone can satisfy the soul, and a higher Truth which alone can set us free.

You pray that all truth will come out, and that is a prayer after God's own heart. Holy Scripture is the standard of the Truth of God. Your Word is Truth. Buy the truth and sell it not. Buy only the Truth, buy all the Truth, buy the Truth at any price and buy the Truth now. The Truth we need is not the shifting opinion of men, but the plain, straightforward utterance of God. Give me Infallible Truth. I want facts, not fancies. Seek to use that plain word, The Lord appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love.

Know this, that God's heart to His people is love, and that love is unalloyed and everlasting. Get hold of this Truth that God really loves you, that you are the object of the intense delight of the Most High, and what more would you have? Be amazed. Be enraptured with this. Yet many things are absolutely necessary for the acceptance of any service rendered unto God, and the first is that the person who attempts to serve God should himself be accepted. Our acceptance is not in ourselves, but in Christ. Jesus is entered into the heavens for us, can we doubt our acceptance with God? This is the year of acceptance, the Jubilee, when men were set free without money, simply because Jubilee was proclaimed.

This Truth ought to take from us all fear of man. Why should you, O believer, be afraid of a man that shall die, or the son of man who is but a worm? While this Truth should banish our fear of man, it should also ensure our submission to the will of God and strengthen our faith when the storm comes. Human acceptance may fail, for even family may not understand us, but the Gospel state abides. Above the wreck of all things it remains and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

I pray for you that you will know the Truth of God so certainly that you are able to remember it just when you most need it, that you will be brought to find your acceptance not in the approval of men but in the finished work of Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, and that you will walk in that practical Truth where actions are consistent and of a right and straightforward course according to His Word. May the Lord reveal Himself to you, show you His everlasting love in Christ, and give you grace to love that Truth, to live it, and to find peace in His acceptance, even while you commit those who have rejected you to His mercy and justice, for the day of acceptance and the day of vengeance are both in His hands.

May the Lord grant you to know experimentally that you are accepted in the Beloved, and to rest there, and may He bring forth all that is hidden into His light, that you and all concerned may see clearly and be drawn to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in whom alone there is forgiveness and new life.
