We come before the Lord with hearts lifted in intercession for ###, seeking God’s mercy, guidance, and encouragement for him in every area of his life. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have boldness to approach the throne of grace, for Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We are grateful that ###’s request has been brought before us, and we pray that if he does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, this will be the moment the Holy Spirit draws him into a saving relationship with Christ. For *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is in Jesus’ name alone that we pray for ###.
We ask the Lord to strengthen ### spiritually, to fill him with the Holy Spirit, and to grant him a hunger for God’s Word. May he be rooted and grounded in Scripture, *"that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work"* (2 Timothy 3:17, WEB). If ### has been neglecting time in prayer, reading the Bible, or fellowship with other believers, we pray the Lord convicts his heart and leads him to repentance. *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded"* (James 4:8, WEB). Let him seek first the Kingdom of God, trusting that all other things will be added unto him (Matthew 6:33).
Father, we ask that You reveal Your will for ###’s life with clarity and certainty. Remove any confusion, doubt, or fear that may be hindering his walk with You. *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). If there are areas of sin in ###’s life—whether it be unforgiveness, pride, lust, dishonesty, or any other stronghold—we pray the Holy Spirit brings conviction and grants him the strength to turn away from it. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13, WEB).
We also lift up ###’s emotional and mental well-being. If he is facing discouragement, loneliness, or weariness, we ask that You, Lord, be his comfort and his peace. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). Surround him with godly brothers and sisters in Christ who can encourage him, pray with him, and hold him accountable in love.
If ### is seeking direction in his career, relationships, or ministry, we pray that You open doors no man can shut and close doors that are not of You. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noon day sun"* (Psalm 37:4-6, WEB). May ###’s life be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may he walk in obedience to Your Word in every decision he makes.
Finally, we pray for ###’s physical health and provision. Meet his every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Protect him from harm, sickness, and the schemes of the enemy. *"The Lord is my shepherd: I will lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He renews my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake"* (Psalm 23:1-3, WEB).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for ###’s life and for the plans You have for him—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We declare that ### is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and we ask that You use him mightily for Your Kingdom. May he walk in the fullness of Your calling, equipped with the armor of God to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18).
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
