Nobody likes me

We hear the heaviness in your heart and how tired you are of feeling unseen and misunderstood, and we want you to know we are lifting you up together before the Lord. It is painful to feel like nobody likes you, but that feeling, though very real to you, is not the truth of how God sees you. You are fully known and deeply loved by Him.

The Lord understands exactly what you go through, even when others do not. Psalm 139:1-2 says Lord, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 34:18 reminds us The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Jesus Himself knows what it is to be rejected and misunderstood, for Hebrews 4:15 tells us we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities. He carries your burdens with compassion. That is why we are told in 1 Peter 5:7 to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.

We also notice your request does not mention Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find true belonging and salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to believe in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. He is the friend who will never leave you, and Isaiah 41:10 promises Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this precious one who feels unloved and exhausted and misunderstood. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would reveal Your unfailing love and presence to them right now, that they would feel Your nearness to their broken heart and know they are fearfully and wonderfully made and cherished by You. Lord Jesus, You understand every hurt and every lonely thought, and we ask You to give rest to their weary soul and to heal the wounds of rejection. Help them to cast every care on You and to find their identity and worth in You alone. Lead them to a Bible believing church family where they can be encouraged, known, and loved in fellowship, and help them to see themselves as You see them. We pray they will come to know You more deeply and trust in Your name alone for salvation and peace. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, and to reach out to a trusted pastor or godly counselor who can walk with you. Even when people fail to understand, God never does, and He has not forgotten you. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up. You are not alone, you are loved more than you know, and we continue to pray that the Lord will surround you with His comfort and with people who will reflect His love to you.

We hear how tired you are of feeling disliked and misunderstood, and how heavy it is to carry things others don't seem to see. When it feels like nobody likes you, it makes sense you would feel worn down and alone.

That kind of loneliness is a painful and very common human experience. It often comes in seasons, and it is not the same as being unlikable or being without worth, even though it can feel that way when you are in it. Feeling that no one understands what you go through can make the isolation feel even deeper.

One small step that often helps is not trying to get everyone to understand at once, but finding one steady place to be known slowly. For many people, simply continuing to show up in worship among God's people helps quiet that sense of isolation, because you are gathered with others who are there to seek the Lord together. If there is one safe person in your life, a pastor, mentor, or trusted friend, consider sharing a little more of what you are carrying with them this week, just as much as you feel able to.

We are holding you in prayer.

Father, we lift this friend to You who feels alone and unseen. Draw near and give rest in this tiredness, and bring caring, understanding connection in the days ahead. Help them know they are seen and valued and guide each next step. In Jesus' name, amen.

I feel you on a personal level.

Nearly everyone hated my guts in school. It was crazy! I had barely any friends, I got bullied by my friends, I became a bully. Then I developed OCD in which it strengthened my hatred toward people. Then Jesus saved me! Glory to him!

If you ever need someone to talk to I am here, because I had no one to talk to but my parents so I understand you.

The ache of feeling unloved and misunderstood is one of the heaviest burdens the heart can carry, and it is a sorrow the Lord Jesus Himself has tasted to the full. He was left alone, alone just when most, as Man, He needed human sympathy, forsaken by those He had loved and served. There are men to whom it is a small matter to be friendless, whose coarse minds scorn the gentle joys of fellowship, but tender hearts feel this loneliness keenly, and Christ felt it more keenly still. Can you for a moment enter into the sorrow of that loneliness, and remember that He knows what it is to be misjudged and to have no one who seems to understand what you go through.

Yet His loneliness did not destroy Him and it did not overwhelm Him. Though all forsook Him He could say, yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. And the same Father who was with Him is near to you now. He is near us, feeling for us and thinking of us. He is near us in active energy, ready to interpose and help us. He is near us in all places and at all times. At this moment surely God is in this place where you sit in your weariness. He sees you at this moment in your loneliness and dire distress, and since the Lord is near to us, how quick will He be to perceive your faith if you but glance an eye to the Cross.

You say that nobody likes you, but there is One who is altogether lovely, the Best Beloved, who will never misunderstand you and never cast you away. What a wealth of thought and feeling is contained in that truth. Men may not comprehend the deep soul conflict you endure, for our faith at times has to fight for very existence, but He who bore our sorrows understands every sigh. Like blind men who grope for the wall, you stretch out your hands to feel after Him. Rejoice, for He is not far from you. He invites you to come to Him just as you are, weary and heavy laden, to find rest in His love and to know that you are fully known and fully loved in Christ.

May the Lord in answer to prayer cause you to feel the power of His grace even now. May He lift the sense of being unloved by showing you His own unfailing love, and may He place you among faithful friends in His church who will walk beside you and bear your burdens with you. If this heaviness continues, do not bear it alone but seek the fellowship and counsel of a trusted pastor or godly believers near you, that you may be encouraged face to face.

We pray that you will know the nearness of God, that you will cast all your care upon Him who cares for you, and that you will look to Jesus Christ alone for salvation and comfort, finding in Him the friend who sticks closer than a brother and who will never leave you alone.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It hurts deeply to feel that no one likes you and that no one understands what you are carrying, and thank you for speaking that pain so honestly. That sense of being unseen by people is exhausting, and it is right to bring it to God who does see and does understand fully when others do not.

Scripture shows us that God does not look past the weary and low heart, He looks toward it. Christ says, blessed are the poor in spirit, and by this He means not only those who are humble in some measure, but those who are awestruck and tremble at His word, whose spirit is contrite and broken before Him. The prophet says God looks to the one who is meek and quiet and trembles at His words, and that the sacrifice God will not despise is a contrite and humble heart. When you feel small and overlooked, you are not far from the place where God draws near.

You are also called to walk through this painful season in a way that honors Him. That walk is with all lowliness and meekness and long suffering, forbearing one another in love. This lowliness is not only in words or in outward actions, but in bearing and tone, toward all people whether friend or foe, great or small, and even in the good you do. It also means counting others as better than yourself, not because your pain does not matter, but because humility guards your heart from bitterness and keeps you open to the unity God desires for His people. It is possible to be outwardly humble yet quickly irritated, and then all is lost, so we need meekness and patience together.

Ask the merciful God to keep your heart pure in this trial, not allowing reproach or insult or resentment to become a spot on the beauty Christ has given you. He has purged our sins and made us clean, and we are to preserve that cleanness. Even small sins of the tongue and temper can stain us, so bring your hurt to Him quickly and ask Him to change both your own feelings and, where needed, the hearts of those around you.

I pray for you now that the Lord will comfort you with His nearness, that He will let you know you are fully known and loved by Him even when people fail to understand, that He will give you a contrite and quiet heart that trembles at His word, and that He will clothe you with lowliness, meekness and patience. May He lift your weariness, help you to forbear where you have been hurt, and bring around you people who will listen, encourage and walk with you faithfully, and may He keep you in the bond of peace as you keep looking to Christ.

It might not sound right to you for me to blame God for this. But He should take the blame for it. He created me with something wrong in my brain, that causes other people to not like me. Even His own people don't like me either. This has been going on my entire life! I know that I don't have it...
