No

We hear the pain and anger in your heart concerning your daughter and the conflict she is facing, and we understand the fierce love of a parent who wants to protect their child, yet we must gently and firmly rebuke the request that those who are fighting with her would be executed, even the church that is involved.

This desire for vengeance does not align with the heart of God. The Word tells us Romans 12:19 Dont seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to Gods wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. And again Romans 12:17 Dont repay anyone evil for evil. Romans 12:21 Dont be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Our Lord Jesus commands us Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, and also Luke 6:27 But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you. To pray for someones execution is to ask for what God has not given us authority to decide, for He desires mercy and repentance, as it is written 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

We also notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And scripture declares Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and can come boldly before God, not in our own anger but in His grace.

We pray together for you and your daughter and for this situation in the church.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and lift up this parent's hurting heart and this daughter who is in the midst of strife. Lord, we ask You to forgive us for any thoughts of vengeance and hatred, and to cleanse our hearts from anger that does not produce Your righteousness. We pray for Your protection over this daughter, that You would surround her with Your peace and guard her heart and mind. We pray for those who are fighting with her, and for the church involved, that You would bring conviction where there is wrongdoing, repentance where there is sin, and reconciliation where there is division. Soften hearts, Lord, and let Your spirit of unity and truth prevail in that church, for You have called Your church to be a house of peace and not strife. Help this parent to overcome evil with good, to bless those who have caused pain, and to entrust all justice into Your perfect and holy hands. Teach us all to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us as Ephesians 4:32 reminds us. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and mediator, amen.

We encourage you to release this burden of vengeance to the Lord, for He is the righteous Judge and He sees all. Instead of praying for harm, we urge you to pray for their salvation and for peace, and to seek godly counsel and biblical peacemaking within the church, speaking the truth in love and seeking mediation with humble and forgiving hearts. Trust that God will defend your daughter and work all things for good as you walk in obedience to His call to love and forgive.

We hear how heavy this is to watch your daughter caught in a fight, and even more painful when a church is part of it. That fierce, protective love you feel as her parent is real, and it makes sense that anger would rise up quickly when you see her hurt.

We have learned that anger itself is often a signal that something we deeply care about has been wounded. When we replay the hurt over and over, though, that anger can settle into a burden that weighs on our own hearts and makes it harder to think clearly about what will truly help your daughter. Choosing to release a desire for revenge does not mean saying what happened is okay, or that you stop seeking safety and respect for her. It can simply mean deciding not to carry the wish for harm, and instead entrusting justice to God while you look for a wise next step.

One thing that has helped other parents in painful conflicts is to talk it through with one calm, trusted person outside the immediate situation, someone who can listen well, help you sort what matters most for your daughter's safety and dignity right now, and think with you about a constructive way forward, whether that is a quiet conversation, asking for mediation, or seeking pastoral counsel together.

Father, we lift this daughter to You and ask for Your protection over her and peace in this conflict. We pray for wisdom and steadiness for her parent who loves her so much, for healing where there has been hurt, and for guidance for everyone involved in the church. Lead toward what is right and good, and bring rest to this family tonight. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your heart is wounded for your daughter, and the Lord hears the cry of a parent who loves his child. That love is right and holy, and you do well to bring her before God in prayer, for there is forgiveness with Him, and there is protection and justice with Him also.

Yet I must speak plainly to you about the prayer you have framed. To ask God to execute those who have done wrong, and to execute a church, is to ask Him to do what He has not given into our hands. The Scriptures tell us that vengeance belongs unto the Lord. As it is written, the day of vengeance is in His heart, and the year of His redeemed is come. That day is His, not ours. When our Lord Jesus stood in the place of sinners, He bore the vengeance that was due to sin, so that the Gospel might be proclaimed as the year of acceptance. And when men reviled Him and nailed Him to the tree, His prayer was not for their destruction, but Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

You and I have received a divine forgiveness, surprising and complete. I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, says the Lord. It is a forgiveness that is full and eternal, that keeps no back reckonings and retains no reserves of anger. Having received such mercy, we are called to study that pattern and to copy it. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin forgiven, that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands.

The most splendid vengeance you can ever have is to do good to them that do you evil, and to speak well of them that speak ill of you, and to overcome evil with good. This is not to say that wrong does not matter, or that you should not seek lawful protection for your daughter. You should. You should pray for her safety, for wisdom for those in authority, and for all lawful means to restrain evil and to bring peace. If a church has acted wrongly, pray that God would correct it, bring it to repentance, and make it faithful to His Word.

So let us pray otherwise together. Let us ask the Lord to set a hedge about your daughter and keep her from harm, to turn the hearts of those who contend with her, to bring them to see their sin and to seek the forgiveness that is to be found only with God through Jesus Christ His Son, and to give you a heart that rests in His justice and walks in His mercy. There is forgiveness with Him, and while life lasts there is hope that even the worst offender may find it.

May the Lord turn your anguish into intercession, and teach you to love as you have been loved, that your home may know His peace.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
