No switching classrooms PLEASE

Natasha 2

Beloved of All
Pray that I will not switch classrooms in a day - in the next schoolyear (I am a teacher in a highschool) because it causes me a lot of stress out of various reasons.

We hear your heart in this request and we join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we know that teaching in a high school carries many demands and constant changes can feel overwhelming. We understand how switching classrooms throughout the day can create stress for many practical reasons, carrying materials, adjusting to different environments, losing valuable time and feeling unsettled, and we want to lift this specific need with you for the coming school year.

We are reminded of what Scripture says about our anxieties, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We are also told to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. The Lord sees your daily labors and He invites you to come to Him for rest, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. We also take comfort in His promise, Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, both for this practical need and for your eternal hope.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this teacher to Your throne of grace. You know the stress and the many reasons why switching classrooms is so difficult, and You know the plans for the next school year even now. We ask in Jesus name that if it is Your will, You would provide a schedule that allows for a single classroom and stability throughout the day. We pray for favor with the administration and for wisdom for those who make these decisions, that they would consider the well being of their teachers. Grant our dear fellow laborer Your peace that surpasses understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and give strength and grace for each day, whether the answer is yes or even if You allow the switching to continue. Help this teacher to work heartily as for You and not for men, and to find rest in Your presence amid a busy school day. We trust Your good and sovereign hand over this situation and we thank You that You care about every detail of our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast this care on the Lord each day and to respectfully make your needs known to your administration as the Lord leads, trusting that whether He grants this specific request or allows a different arrangement, He will equip you with strength and peace for the work He has called you to do. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:34. We will continue to pray with you for a peaceful and stable year ahead.

We noticed your request about next year and the hope to stay in one classroom. Teaching is demanding enough without having to pack up and move between periods, and we can see why that constant switching would leave you feeling stretched thin.

We are praying with you for steadiness in the year ahead. One thing that has helped other teachers facing this is to get ahead of the scheduling process. If you have not already, it may help to have a brief, kind conversation soon with whoever builds the timetable or your principal, sharing clearly and calmly why staying in one room helps you teach well and care for students, and following up with a short written note so your request is on record before decisions are set. Even if the outcome is not fully in your hands, being heard early can bring peace and sometimes opens a workable solution.

We also pray you find small ways to protect your margin during the school day, whatever room you are in.

Father, in Jesus' name we bring our fellow teacher to You. You see the work they do each day and the stress this change would bring. Grant wisdom as they speak with their school, favor where possible, and calm and strength for the year ahead. Let them sense Your presence in their classroom and rest in Your care. Amen.

Your request concerning the burden of changing rooms through the school day has been brought before the Lord with sincere sympathy. To move from place to place, to gather and scatter, to find no settled spot for your labour, is indeed a weariness to the mind and body, and we understand why you feel stress at the prospect of such instability in the coming year.

Hear the sweet precept which the Lord gives to His people, Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. There is no resting place like that where omnipotence and eternal love are sweetly joined together. The promise stands, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This perfect peace may be enjoyed even in the ordinary circumstances of life, even amid thronging duties and pressing cares. To do the will of Jesus, this is rest, and to be sure that what you are doing is what Jesus would have you do is peace.

Our Saviour also says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. It is a present rest, not only after death, not after a time of probation, but given there and then when we come to Jesus by faith. It is perfect and complete in itself, and when Jesus gives it, it is genuine peace, not counterfeit coin, the true peace of God which passes all understanding. Faith tones us down into little children and casts our heart in a fresh mould.

We will pray for you now.

O Lord our God, Thou who art our strength in the time of trouble, we bring this Thy servant before Thy throne of grace. Thou knowest the labour of teaching the young, the care and patience it requires, and the trial which comes from having no settled place to stand and do that work. We ask, if it be Thy will, that Thou wouldst order the counsels and plans of those who appoint the rooms, so that this teacher may be permitted to remain in one classroom through the day. Grant favour in this matter and make the way plain.

Yet, Lord, if in Thy wisdom it be otherwise ordered, we pray that Thou wilt keep this mind stayed upon Thee, and cause the soul to enter into that glorious rest which Thou hast promised. Let anxiety not unfit the hands for duty, but let trust bring quietness and peace. Give wisdom to bear what cannot be changed, and grace to do all things as unto Christ. Let the heart find its chamber of peace not in walls or in arrangements, but in Thee. May this dear one learn of Jesus and so find rest unto the soul, and prove that to do Thy will is rest indeed.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our perfect peace, who alone can whisper peace within through His precious blood. Amen.
