We join with you in asking our Heavenly Father for quiet, rest, and peaceful sleep over your building and area today and tomorrow, and we thank you for seeking this in Jesus' name, for it is through Him we have access to the throne of grace.
We understand your deep need for restoration, for your muscles and brain to be renewed before a difficult week ahead. God Himself ordained rest for us and delights to give it to His children. We are reminded that it is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil, for he gives sleep to his loved ones, Psalm 127:2. And we cling to the promise, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety, Psalm 4:8. Jesus Himself invites us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this need for quiet and rest to You. We ask that You would command peace over this building and the surrounding area today and tomorrow. Restrain any construction, loud noise, and disturbance that would steal sleep and rest. Let there be stillness so that Your child can catch up on deep, restorative sleep. We pray You would settle the mind, relax the muscles, and renew the brain, preparing body and spirit for the week ahead. Guard this home with Your peace, that which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. We cast all our worries on You because You care for us, 1 Peter 5:7, and we ask that You would make the difficult week ahead easier by Your grace and strength, guiding every step and providing what is needed for each day. Let Your perfect peace keep this one in mind and heart as they trust in You, Isaiah 26:3. We ask this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to prepare your heart to receive His rest even now, perhaps by quieting your own space as much as you are able, turning off distractions, and committing the outcome to the Lord. Even if some sound does come, remember that His peace is not dependent on outward silence alone, but is a guard within. Trust that He who has ordained your rest will also ordain your strength for the days to come, for He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might he increases strength, Isaiah 40:29. May the Lord grant you sweet and uninterrupted sleep and wake you refreshed, ready to walk through the coming week in His grace and ease.
