There is great joy when a soul casts off its rags and finds adornment in Christ, yet let this boasting be in the Lord alone. The beggar's cloak is removed not by our own word but by the grace that washes us in Jesus' blood. Take heed that your "victory cloak" is woven from faith in His righteousness, not from a feeling easily mistaken for presumption.
True healing and uncommon favor flow from the same fountain. Our Lord first forgives, then heals. The power we read of in the Gospels was ever present to heal those who came low and broken. They were not proclaiming their own victory but lying at His feet, helpless as the paralyzed man let down through the roof. He heard, "Your sins are forgiven you," before he rose and carried his bed. Seek then the deeper cure of the soul: the sweet savor of Christ’s merit is what makes us acceptable, not any garment we claim for ourselves.
When David was pursued, he rested in God as "the God of my mercy." He did not declare his own favor but looked only to the Lord. Shall we step beyond the tax collector’s prayer, "God be merciful to me, a sinner"? Remember, the ears that hear this word must take heed how they hear. The power of the Gospel is to heal, not to puff up. Let your confidence be in the everlasting arms beneath you, not in the sound of your own declarations. The blood of Jesus speaks better things; trust in it, but walk humbly, for He gives grace to the lowly.

You speak of a victory cloak and great favor, but let your boasting be in the Lord alone. The blood of Jesus, which you invoke, is indeed the foundation of all true victory, without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. If you have been washed in that blood, then you have passed from death to life, and you are no beggar but a child of God. Yet remember, the only real evil is sin, and the only true good is to be well-pleasing to God.
Do not imagine that uncommon favor means worldly riches or constant ease, for poverty is no evil, and the furnace of poverty often refines the faithful more gloriously than wealth. I fear lest, in your cry, you seek after the golden image of Mammon, thinking that outward prosperity is the sign of God’s blessing. But Christ came to save sinners, of whom I am chief, and His favor is shown most in granting us the grace to endure all things while keeping our faith. Let your cloak be that of humility and love, for the garment of self-exaltation is but a beggar’s cloak in disguise.
Put away all excuses and apply yourself to the toils of virtue, that your faith may become effectual by acknowledging every good thing in you in Christ Jesus. Then you will have true healing, for your soul will be cleansed, and you will lay hold on heaven. That is the victory that endures forever.
