We hear your cry for justice and vindication in this deeply painful situation at your workplace. The humiliation and targeting you describe are not of God, He calls us to love one another, to treat others with kindness and respect, and to uphold the dignity of every person made in His image (Ephesians 4:29-32). What you are enduring is unjust, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, asking the Lord to intervene and bring this wickedness to light.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of oppression and intimidation at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus has come to give life abundantly. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of strife, division, and malice in the name of Jesus. The Lord sees your tears and hears your prayers, He will not abandon you in this trial.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Advocate and Defender. We ask You to expose every hidden scheme of the enemy in this workplace. Let Your light shine into the darkness, revealing the truth and bringing justice to Your child. We pray that this manager’s heart would be softened or that their actions would be brought to the attention of those in authority who can act righteously. If there is ungodly pride, jealousy, or malice in their heart, we ask You to convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance.

We also pray for wisdom and protection over you. Give you discernment in how to respond, whether to address the situation directly with godly boldness, to seek counsel from trusted believers, or to trust in the Lord’s timing for resolution. Guard your heart from bitterness, fear, or despair, and fill you with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind you that You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and no one has the power to define your worth except the One who created you.

Lord, if this trial is meant to refine you, we ask that You use it to draw you closer to Yourself. Strengthen your faith and trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). We declare that You are your Shield and your Vindicator, no one can touch you without Your permission, and even then, You will turn it for your good.

We also lift up your workplace to You. May Your presence fill that space, transforming hearts and bringing unity where there is division. Raise up godly leaders and coworkers who will stand for righteousness and speak truth in love. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in that place, just as it is in heaven.

Finally, we remind you that your ultimate vindication comes from the Lord. He sees every injustice, and He will repay (Romans 12:19). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Trust in Him, lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We ache with you over what you're describing. Being singled out for public humiliation by someone in authority cuts deep, it can make you feel cornered, disoriented, and utterly alone. Please hear this plainly: you are not invisible, and you are not what this manager's treatment is trying to say about you. We have seen how God's tender attention rests on people who are being demeaned in secret, and we trust that same attention is on you right now.

One concrete thing that might help in the days ahead: start keeping a simple, private record. Date by date, jot down specific incidents, what was said or done, and anyone who happened to witness it. This is not about nursing grievances; it's about letting you stand on firm ground if the situation ever needs to be addressed more formally. Facts have a way of cutting through the fog that humiliation creates.

That impulse toward isolation is real, but it also does part of the enemy's work for him. When we hide, the shame echoes louder. So fight quietly against that pull by staying connected to people who know your character and value you as you are. You do not need many, just a few who will pray with you and remind you whose you are when the daily grinding-down makes you forget.

Lord Jesus, in the weariness of being targeted and belittled, hide this one under the shelter of your knowing. Keep them from internalizing the shame that is not theirs to carry. Grant clear wisdom about when to speak, when to be still, and how to walk through each workday with a steadiness that does not rise from their circumstances but from your Spirit. We ask that whatever is hidden in darkness would be brought into the light, not for our glory, but for the sake of truth and justice. And we ask that their very presence in that place would become, in ways none of us can yet anticipate, a witness to your faithfulness. Bring the right advocates alongside them, and guard their heart from bitterness. In your strong name we pray.

The flame of trial, when it rises around you, is meant to drive you nearer to your God. How many prayers have been offered up as the result of persecution that would never have been offered else, heaven alone can tell! Take this new manager’s campaign of shame as a wave that, when it leaps up against the ship of your soul, may speed you faster toward the haven of Christ’s bosom. The enemy means to humiliate you, but what is this valley of humiliation but one of the sweetest spots in all the world? Your Master trod it before you; He was found in fashion as a man, and He humbled Himself. Will the servant be above his Lord? If He endured such contradiction of sinners, can you not bear the sneers of a fallen son of Adam?

Let this trial work its perfect work. The world’s enmity keeps up the separation between the church and the world, and often it is the guard Christ sets where the enemy is most likely to make the assault. Do not rush to clear your own name with bitter words or desperate schemes. Vindication belongs to God. If there is real injustice, He is still the righteous Judge, and He knows how to expose the devices of the wicked in His own time. But examine your own heart first. Could you, like David, say that God would be just even if He allowed this to continue? A saint who sits humbly before the throne, confessing his own unworthiness, will soon find that justice is no longer his antagonist. Through the precious blood of Jesus, God is just and yet the justifier of him that believes.

Pray, not merely for the trouble to cease, but that you may stand firm in this evil hour. The arch-enemy will fly away confounded from you if you are able to resist him while darkness covers your soul. If you conquer in your hour of grief, you conquer indeed! Cry to your Father, “Shepherd, forsake not thy lamb, lest the wolves devour him.” And rest in this: the enmity of man cannot thwart the counsel of God. If He permits this humbling, it is to do you good at your latter end. Look to the cross, where the highest injustice worked the highest good, and commit your cause to Him who judges righteously.

The body of your humiliation is being fashioned anew. This manager may heap scorn upon you, but recall that our citizenship is in Heaven, from whence we wait for a Saviour. He endured being bound and scourged, and His body suffered, so that your body, now suffering this dishonor, might be conformed to His glory. Do not seek an easy vindication here, as if this world were your home. The change of the resurrection will reveal all.

He who knows the secrets of the heart does not always rush to expose the wicked publicly, as some desire. When evil men spun accusations in their minds, Christ did not set down the charge or expose their wickedness, but refuted by His righteousness, leaving it to their conscience. God may be giving this manager time to be drawn off from his customs, leading him by degrees. Pray not chiefly for exposure, but for his salvation and for your own steadfastness.

Look at Peter. Once he cowered before a servant girl and swore he knew not the Man. Yet after, he stood with great boldness and freedom of speech. God can grant you such composure now, a witness clear from adulation and insolence. Let the Holy Spirit intercede for you with groanings, while you hold your peace, fulfilling that which was spoken: “In His humiliation His judgment was taken away.”

I hear the distress in what you’re facing, and I want you to know that this kind of targeted humiliation is not something that surprises the Lord. The enemy has always used ridicule and intimidation to try to break the spirit of God’s people. When the work of God is being done in your life, the adversary will often send opposition directly into your path. What you describe sounds very much like one of those moments where the enemy attempts to magnify himself against you, hoping to wear you down and fill your heart with fear and despair.

The first thing to remember is who the real enemy is. That new manager is not your ultimate foe, even though he or she may be acting as a willing instrument. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood. The adversary works through people, but the battle is spiritual. You are not fighting for your reputation alone; you are standing in the place where God has called you, and that is exactly what the enemy wants to hinder. Discouragement is one of his most effective tools. He'll start with scorn, and if that doesn't stop you, he'll escalate to direct assault. That pattern shows up again and again in Scripture, and it’s what you’re experiencing now.

So I will pray with you, and I encourage you to keep praying, but don’t stop there. In the days of rebuilding the wall, the people prayed and then set watchmen day and night. They worked with a trowel in one hand and a sword in the other. That means staying alert. Document what is happening. Seek wise counsel. Understand your rights in the workplace. There is nothing unspiritual about taking practical steps while you trust God. The enemy wants you to feel isolated and helpless, but the Lord has given you a sound mind, and He expects you to use it.

Sometimes when we are in these trials, the enemy whispers that we must have failed somehow, that God cannot possibly bless us or defend us because we’ve been weak or imperfect. That is a lie. God does not vindicate us because we have earned it or have been flawless. He acts because He is gracious and faithful. He sees the humiliation, just as He saw the mockery poured out on His servants of old. He knows when the adversary has spread out his hand against all that is pleasant to you. And He will not leave you in that place forever. The same Lord who redeemed His people from captivity in Babylon is the One who redeems you from the hand of the enemy today.

Think of Jesus himself. In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away. He was despised and rejected, and it seemed for a time that the enemy had prevailed. But that was not the end. The Father raised him and highly exalted him. Because you belong to him, your story does not end in shame either. The exposure of darkness and your vindication are in God’s hands, and His timing is perfect. Keep your eyes on the Lord, not on the threats. The fear grows when we stare at the enemy; the cure comes when we remember how great the One is who stands with us.

Let’s pray together now, and I will continue lifting this up. Father, you see the schemes being carried out against your child in that workplace. You know every word spoken in secret, every intent to humiliate. We ask in the name of Jesus that you would bring these things to a swift end. Shut the mouths of those who delight in iniquity. Expose what is hidden in darkness and let no weapon formed against your servant prosper. Vindicate them, Lord, not for their own glory but for the honor of your name. Give them wisdom, steady their heart, and surround them with your peace. In the moment of battle, let them hear the trumpet of your deliverance and know that the enemy cannot stand against you. Amen.

When you receive a job I have heard it said there are 2 interviews. The first is the actual job (which God may have blessed you with). The second is the employees with a leader (official or unofficial). This person is usually not a Christian and will head up the demonic gang in that place.

I think this is true and shows the spiritual battle that goes on territorially in workplaces.

I have experienced this too but if I ever lost a job God quickly gave me another one. Pray every day - in some cases if the harassment came from 1 particular individual I prayed them away!

Mockery and ridicule are tools of the enemy and I will pray for your protection and peace
