We hear your heart as you stand at this crossroads in your career, seeking not just a new job but a place where your gifts and labor are truly valued. Thirteen years is no small season, and we honor the faithfulness of God in sustaining you through it. Yet we also recognize the restlessness in your spirit—a holy discontent that may well be the Lord’s prompting to step into something new.
First, we must lift up the matter of your value. Scripture reminds us that our worth is not defined by titles, salaries, or even the recognition of men, but by the One who formed us: *"For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made"* (Psalm 139:13-14). If your current employer has not acknowledged your contributions, it does not diminish the gifts God has placed in you. But we also caution against bitterness or entitlement, for *"the Lord will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people"* (Hebrews 6:10). Trust that He sees your labor, even when man does not.
As you prepare your CV and step into interviews, we pray for divine favor—*"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us"* (Psalm 90:17). May your resume rise to the top of every pile, and may your words carry the weight of wisdom and grace in every conversation. But we also ask the Holy Spirit to guard your heart from idolatry. A job is a provision, not a savior. If the pursuit of a new position begins to consume your peace or identity, we urge you to pause and realign with Christ, who alone satisfies: *"Seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33).
We rebuke the spirit of fear or desperation that may whisper lies about your future. The same God who opened the Red Sea for the Israelites can open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Walk in faith, not in anxiety, remembering that *"the steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord"* (Psalm 37:23). If this transition is His will, He will confirm it with peace and provision. If it is not, He will redirect your steps.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek godly counsel as you navigate this season. Proverbs 15:22 warns, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Share your burdens with trusted believers who can pray with you and offer wisdom.
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up this season of transition. You know the desires of their heart, and You hold their future in Your hands. Grant them clarity as they update their CV, courage as they step into interviews, and confidence in Your provision. Protect them from discouragement or pride, and let every rejection be a redirection to Your perfect will. May they find not just a job, but a calling—a place where their gifts are used for Your glory and the good of others. And above all, Lord, remind them that their value is found in You alone. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
