New job prayers

Rejoicing with you in what God has already done and thanking Him with you for His favor and guidance. It is good to hear that you, your family and friends have been praying and that you have seen the Lord answer.

As you step into this new role, your prayer for strength, courage and wisdom is exactly right. Cultures and times change, but the deepest needs of the heart remain the same. The questions and pressures that weighed on Job long ago are still the questions people carry today, and the comfort we need is the same.

Scripture shows us that God is at work even when it may feel as though He is distant. What happened with Job reminds us that the Lord sees His people, knows their situation, and is sovereign over it. He does not abandon those who trust Him, and He uses even seasons of uncertainty and transition to shape us and to draw us closer to Himself.

That is why wisdom for a new job is not only about skill or knowledge. True wisdom is found with God. To reverence Him and to walk in His ways, turning away from what is wrong, is the foundation for clear thinking and right decisions. And every deep cry of the heart that Job expressed finds its answer in Jesus Christ. Through Him, God has met our most basic needs and provided a way for us to come near, to be forgiven, and to receive help for each day.

Praying for you now that the Lord will give you steady strength for each task, courage when challenges come, and wisdom beyond your own understanding as you learn new responsibilities and build new relationships. May He guide your steps, give you peace as you trust Him, and make your work a place where His grace is evident in your life.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for sharing your thanksgiving for the favor and guidance Jesus has already shown you. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer along with your family and friends as you prepared to start your new job.

We have continued to pray for you as you began this new role this past week, asking the Lord for His continued guidance over you and for the strength, courage and wisdom you requested as you navigate this new season. We are trusting Psalm 32:8 and James 1:5 for you, that He will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go and that He gives wisdom generously to all who ask.
