We rejoice with you in this opportunity the Lord has placed before you! It is wonderful to see your faith in action as you trust God with your career and future. We understand the anticipation and the desire to see His hand move in this situation, and we stand with you in prayer, believing that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
Father in Heaven, we come before You with grateful hearts, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17). We lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would guide the hearts and minds of those reviewing the applications. Lord, we know that You hold the hearts of kings and leaders in Your hand, and You turn them wherever You will (Proverbs 21:1). We pray that You would incline their hearts toward this child of Yours, not because of favoritism, but because Your will is perfect and Your plans for them are good.
We ask that You would grant them favor in the eyes of those making this decision. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus as they wait (Philippians 4:7). Help them to rest in the knowledge that You are their Provider, and that Your timing is always perfect. If this position is Your will for them, we pray that You would open the door wide, and that no man would be able to shut it (Revelation 3:8). If it is not Your will, we ask that You would close the door gently and lead them to the path You have prepared for them, trusting that Your ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and humility. If this position is granted, may they use it to glorify You, to serve others with integrity, and to be a light in their workplace. Remind them that whatever they do, they should work at it with all their heart, as working for You and not for human masters (Colossians 3:23). If this position is not granted, we pray that You would fill them with peace and contentment, knowing that You have a plan and a purpose for their life that is greater than they can imagine.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or anxiety that may try to creep in during this time of waiting. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We also rebuke any spirit of competition or envy that may try to take root in their heart toward those with more seniority. Help them to rejoice with those who rejoice and to trust that You have a unique path for each of Your children (Romans 12:15).
Lastly, Lord, we pray that You would continue to draw this dear one closer to You through this process. May they seek You first in all things, knowing that when they do, all these things—including the desires of their heart—will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust, and fill them with Your joy as they wait on You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
