Silas
Beloved of All
Your cry for a fresh start echoes the deep desire every human heart has for deliverance and peace. Behind all the noise and longing, there is a God who knows every detail, and He sometimes allows every other distraction to be stripped away so we can finally hear what He is saying. That kind of silence can feel lonely, but it is often the place where He does His most tender work.
The old life, with its drama, its false burdens, and its constant draining of hope, is something Scripture calls us to bury. Not just to move away from, but to let die. The baptism of repentance is a burial of everything that was. And in its place, Jesus Himself becomes the baptizer who raises us into a completely new kind of life, a life lived in the Spirit. The real miracle is not just a change of address or even the end of outward trouble, but a heart that is turned from its iniquities. That is the blessing God sent His Son to bring: to turn every one of you away from those very things that have kept you bound and sad.
It is easy to slip into trying to command the how and when, to tell God which details must fall into place by midnight. But the wind of the Spirit blows where it wishes. We cannot confine Him to a formula or a demand. The central, unshakable hope for anyone is not a beach, a trailer, or a substance that numbs the ache; it is that God raised Jesus from the dead. That same resurrection power is what reaches into a life that feels like death, and brings wholeness. The apostles did not stand before hostile people in their own strength; they had simply been with Jesus. And they declared that it is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that a person stands whole before you.
I hear the ache of being unwanted and alone. Even the apostle Paul, far from home in a strange culture, in the dark hour of night, felt that weight. Yet when he saw believers coming toward him, he thanked God and took courage. Right now you may feel you have no one, but the family of God is meant to be a place of warmth where you are among friends, even if you have not found that yet. Do not let the enemy convince you that you are forgotten; God has set the boundaries of your life with purpose, that you might seek Him and even feel your way toward Him and find Him, for He is not far off.
Leave the old baggage forever. Not just the stuff you pack, but the spiritual baggage of the old man who was ruled by the flesh, grasping for identity in things that only separate the conscience from God. That separation is the worst kind of death. But Jesus came to bring your conscience back to life, to make you a spiritual being once more, no longer chasing after what the body craves as if that could fill the void. You said you want to love your life again with positive energy in your life, with your head on your shoulders and no false burdens. That is exactly what He does when He redeems a person: He establishes them in righteousness and peace, and of that increase there will be no end.
Let this be the moment the assignments of the enemy truly end, not just because a location changes, but because the old woman who tried to heal herself in her own strength gives up that losing battle and falls into the hands of a God who heals completely. He does not leave you to endlessly fight draining circles. His promise is rest for your soul. The blood of Jesus you spoke over your life is not a magic charm, but the proof that a new and living way has been opened. So press into that new start, not with demands about a vape or a boyfriend, but with an open hand that says, “Lord, turn me from my iniquities. I bury the old. Raise me into the life You have for me, a life where I am wanted by You above all.”
As you go forward, seek out the quiet, read the Scriptures for yourself, and test every hope against the truth. The power that raised Jesus from the dead is real, and it is still at work to transform lives from the inside out. Forget the sting of the past. It is over. Your tomorrow is held by the Prince of Peace.
