Let us first thank God that this young man is considering involvement in a church. Any and all interaction with a church and its believers is always a good sign. It is an indication the Holy Spirit may be working in his heart. God tells us "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching" Hebrews 10:24-25.
We see the struggles and the lack of motivation to find a job and the addiction to AI and social media. We want to encourage the mother to continue to guide her son, but also to trust God's timing and methods. As it is written, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6.
As a group, let us pray together for this man, that he would not just seek a job, but he will seek God's face with all his heart. We pray that he will have conviction to put away the distractions of this world, that he would flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).
We pray for breakthroughs in his mental health and deliverance from his addictions. We know that God can heal all our diseases as it says in Psalm 103:3 "who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases." We pray for motivation, for a heart that yearns to live and walk in the Spirit. We know with man this may seem impossible, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). We pray that he will hear God's voice and respond with obedience. However, we would be amiss if we did not mention that nowhere in this request was the name of Jesus mentioned. We know that salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
Let us pray.
Father, we lift up this young man to You. We ask that You speak to his heart, that You draw him to Yourself. Give him the strength to overcome his addictions and heal him from his afflictions. Give him a heart that desires to serve You and to walk in Your ways. We pray that he would find a job, not just for the sake of having a job but for the sake of learning to live responsibly, ###. We pray that this church involvement will be the start of a lifetime commitment to You and a community of believers. We pray that he will be healed completely, physically, mentally, spiritually and be able to seek out a godly spouse in the future. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayer. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
