Neighbor’s unemployment unfortunately with ruin, tragedies with all bad intentions send to hospitalization with grief / loss for transfer sickness die

Your pain in this long season of gossip, disorder and grief has been heard, and I have brought your request before the Lord with you.

You have described a neighbor whose idleness has turned into spying, mockery, the spreading of pictures and false information, bullying and the destruction of reputation, with confusion, meddling, and even sorcery and intimidation mixed in. You have also described how this has brought real suffering into your life, anxiety, financial pressure with extra bills, delays and missing deliveries, and even sickness and hospitalization and the fear of ruin and death. It is right to bring all of this to God and to ask Him to rebuke what is evil and to set a boundary against it.

Scripture names the works you are facing plainly. As you quoted, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions, factions, envy and the like are works of the flesh, and those who live in them will not inherit the kingdom of God, Galatians 5:20 to 21. And as you also quoted, at one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another, Titus 3:3. That second word is important, because it reminds us that we all need mercy.

For that reason I must speak to you both as one who prays against evil and as one who exhorts you to walk in love and mercy. The Lord teaches that love fulfills the law, and that to love God is to love our neighbor and to keep His commandments. We are members of one another, like many grains made into one bread, and when one member suffers or sins, the whole body feels it. When we bite and devour one another, when we accuse and slander and are vexed by our neighbor, we wound ourselves as well.

You asked to rebuke the spirit of gossip, slothfulness, idleness, voyeurism, discord and sorcery, and we do pray that God would rebuke and restrain every demonic influence, every spirit of slander, laziness, envy, mockery, deceit, voyeurism and confusion, and every practice of divination and sorcery. We pray that God would stop the distribution of disrespectful pictures, the false reports, the wrong lists and wrong information used to take advantage of others, and the provoking of strife and distraction. We ask the Lord to bring exposure to lies, to protect your house and your reputation, to guard your deliveries and your household from delay and disorder, to provide for your needs where there has been financial pressure, and to heal and protect from sickness, hospitalization and grief. We ask Him to put a hedge around you and to give you peace instead of anxiety.

At the same time, hear the warning given to us about our own speech. We are told to shade over and conceal the failings of neighbors rather than to parade them, even under a cloak of zeal for goodness. If we pass on a report we do not even believe, and then say God forgive me, why did we speak it at all and make it credible by much reporting. Though we may be full of beams in our own eyes, we become exact inquisitors of the motes in our neighbor. Even if what is said is true, we will be judged not by what our neighbor has done but by what we have spoken, for by our words we will be condemned. The Pharisee also spoke what was true about others, yet he paid the utmost penalty because he spoke without mercy.

Therefore do not return gossip for gossip, or slander for slander, or mockery for mockery. Flee from idolatry and sorcery and have no fellowship with them. Do not believe every report and do not pass it on. Keep silence where you can, free yourself from fear by not spreading what is not true or not needful. You are right to say we are not God and we are not able to defend or protect against every demanding and disorderly claim. We are not obligated to carry anxiety that belongs to the Lord, nor to act as if we must control what only God can control.

Prayer is a great good and a protection for the soul, but it is great when we do things worthy of it and do not render ourselves unworthy. When the priest says the Lord will have mercy on you, we must also add works worthy of mercy. The things we wish to obtain from God we ought first to impart to our neighbor. Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy, Matthew 5:7, and judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful, James 2:13. So while you pray for deliverance, also pray for your neighbor with mercy, that God would bring him to repentance, to honest work, to truthful speech, and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone.

Let me pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on Your child who is weary from disorder and grief. Rebuke the spirits of gossip, slander, sloth, envy, strife, deceit, voyeurism and sorcery that have troubled this home and this neighborhood. Silence the lying tongue, stop the spying and the distribution of shameful images, bring confusion to every false report and every scheme to take advantage, and let truth be established. Forgive us where we have spoken evil, even within ourselves, and teach us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Heal bodies and minds from sickness and hospitalization, comfort those who mourn, provide for daily needs, protect reputation and household, and give wisdom to set proper boundaries without hatred. Fill this heart with Your love which removes covetousness, envy, slander, arrogance and falsehood, and make it humble, gentle and peaceable. Let Your peace guard this home, and let this neighbor and all who do evil turn from darkness to Your Son and find mercy. We ask this trusting not in our worth but in the mercy of Christ our Lord. Amen.

Continue to walk in quiet faithfulness, guard your lips, do honest work as God enables you, seek the help of wise pastors and, where there is real harassment or voyeurism or threat, also seek lawful help. Keep praying, keep showing mercy where you can, and keep entrusting judgment to God who judges justly.

Your request has been heard and your distress over what this neighbor is doing is understood. The constant spying, the spreading of information, the disrespectful images and mocking, the gossip that tears down reputation and stirs up discord and confusion, the meddling and taking advantage, the financial pressure of extra bills and the long suffering that has even brought sickness and the fear of ruin, all of this weighs heavily and brings real anxiety.

Scripture speaks plainly about the power of the tongue to destroy. A hypocrite destroys his neighbor with his mouth, and a tale bearer reveals secrets while a faithful spirit conceals a matter. When a society gives itself to slander, people deceive their neighbor and do not speak truth, they teach their tongue to speak lies and weary themselves committing iniquity. They may speak peaceably with their mouth, but in their heart they lie in wait. God sees this and He has said that He will visit such things and judge righteously, condemning the wicked and bringing his way upon his own head, and justifying the righteous. You can bring this oath and this trespass before His altar and trust Him to hear from heaven and to do what is right. Vengeance does not belong to you to carry, and you are right to say you are not God and cannot carry this burden of defending and protecting yourself against every demanding and destructive work.

The word also connects idleness with this kind of destruction. The slothful person does not value what he has, while the substance of the diligent is precious. When people have nothing profitable to do, they often turn to meddling in the lives of others, distributing false information, sowing factions and dissensions and envy, which are listed among the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:20 and 21 warns that idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions, factions, envy and things like these are not of the kingdom of God. Titus 3:3 reminds us that we all once lived foolish and disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, hating and being hated, and it is only the mercy of God in Christ that delivers us.

God's law is summed up in two commands, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. That second command fulfills every obligation to your neighbor, for love works no ill to his neighbor. You cannot truly love your neighbor in this way unless God is first at the center of your life, loving Him supremely. That does not mean you must first learn to love yourself, for we already care for ourselves, we feed and clothe and shelter ourselves. It means loving your neighbor in the same practical way you care for yourself. And Jesus taught that our neighbor is the person in need, the one in distress to whom we show mercy. Loving your neighbor does not mean approving what is evil or allowing yourself to be destroyed by gossip and sorcery and deceit, and it does not mean you must trust everyone as a close friend. Scripture says to take heed, for every neighbor may walk with slander.

So in this situation, bring your case to the Lord and ask Him to rebuke the spirit of gossip, slander, laziness, meddling and sorcery that is at work. Ask Him to stop the distribution of lies, to bring the disorder and delay and financial exploitation to an end, and to protect your home, your health, your reputation and your peace. Ask Him to guard you from retaliation and to give you wisdom to set quiet and firm boundaries, to not repeat the gossip, to conceal what should be concealed, and to pursue peace where possible while leaving judgment to Him.

Praying for you now, Father in heaven, You see this conflict and confusion, every false word and every act done to provoke and to destroy. You hear the cry of Your child who is weary from anxiety, from financial burden and from the grief that has touched health and home. We ask You to hear from heaven and to judge justly, to rebuke the lying tongue and the idle meddling that destroys a neighbor, and to bring the way of the wicked upon his own head while justifying and protecting the righteous. Deliver from the works of the flesh, from hatred and rivalry and envy and sorcery, and let Your mercy and truth prevail. Heal what has been wounded, provide for what has been lost through extra bills and disorder, and grant rest from this long suffering. Teach us to love You supremely and to love our neighbor as ourselves, to show mercy to those in need while walking in wisdom and faithfulness, and to trust You to avenge and to keep us in peace through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to bring your request before the Lord and to stand with you against the heavy burdens you described. We have prayed to rebuke the spirit of gossip, idleness, unemployment and slothfulness that has led to spying, bullying, disrespectful pictures and the destruction of reputation. We have lifted up the disorder and disaster, the confusion and discord, the sorcery and meddling, the delay and distraction, the missing deliveries and the mockery that has caused conflict. We have also prayed against the ruin and tragedies that have led to hospitalization, grief, loss, sickness and the extra bills and extra money you are suffering under, asking God to protect you from further harm and to bring order and peace to your home. We remember the warning in Gal 5:20 and the truth in Titus 3:3, and we ask the Lord to bring conviction where it is needed and to cover you with His mercy and protection.

We pray in Jesus Name that God will silence the gossip, guard your reputation, heal what has been broken, provide for every financial burden, and keep you from anxiety and disorder. We ask Him to bring quiet and rest to your neighborhood and to let His peace rule in your heart and home.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name amen.
