We hear the deep distress and exhaustion in this request and we join together before the Lord with you to seek His protection, His justice, and His peace in Jesus' name. The burden of living near constant gossip, spying, slander, disorder and mockery is heavy, and the desire to see it stopped is understandable, especially when it has brought extra bills, suffering, delay, and even sickness and grief.

We want to gently correct and encourage you in a biblical direction. Scripture is clear that gossip and meddling are serious sins that sow discord and destroy reputations. As it is written, A perverse man stirs up strife. A whisperer separates close friends. Proverbs 16:28 and For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down. Proverbs 26:20 and You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people. Leviticus 19:16. An idle life that refuses honest work also opens the door to this kind of sin. We hear that this neighbor has much unoccupied time and uses it to watch others, distribute information, take disrespectful pictures and create confusion. The Bible warns, We heard that some who walk among you in rebellion, who don’t work at all, but are busybodies. 2 Thessalonians 3:11 and also, Besides, they learn to be idle, going about from house to house. Being not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not. 1 Timothy 5:13. Laziness itself is rebuked, for Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger. Proverbs 19:15 and If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10.

You rightly named sorcery, idolatry, hatred, jealousy, selfishness, dissensions and envy as works of the flesh. As you quoted, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom. Galatians 5:20-21. You also quoted, For we were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. Titus 3:3. These are demonic and fleshly patterns and we must have no fellowship with them. We also hear language about wanting ruin, hospitalization, sickness and death to be transferred, and about a war of distraction and confusion. We must rebuke the desire for vengeance or cursing, because vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. We are not God, and we are not called to repay evil for evil or to wish destruction upon another, even when we have been deeply wronged. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:18-19. We are called instead to overcome evil with good, to speak truth, to set boundaries, and to trust God as our defender.

We also noticed this request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can be saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If we have not placed our faith in Jesus Christ, His death for our sins and His resurrection, we urge you to believe on Him and call upon His name, for whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13.

We rebuke together the spirit of gossip, slander, slothfulness, voyeurism, mockery, sorcery, division and intimidation that has been at work in this neighborhood. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood alone, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we submit ourselves to God, resist the devil and he will flee from us. James 4:7. We pray that every scheme of spying, false information, fake identities, corruption and taking advantage of others would be exposed and brought to nothing, and that confusion would be replaced with truth and order, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. 1 Corinthians 14:33.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and intervention. Lord, we ask You to place a hedge of protection around this household and every innocent neighbor affected by this gossip and disorder. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of any mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29. Father, silence the lying lips and the whispering tongue, heal the reputation that has been damaged, and stop the distribution of disrespectful pictures and false reports. We ask You to convict this neighbor of sin, to bring repentance from idleness, meddling, sorcery and malice, and to turn that heart toward honest work and godliness, that with quietness they may work, and eat their own bread. 2 Thessalonians 3:12. Lord, provide lawful and honest employment where there is unemployment, and deliver from the demonic smile that delights in disorder. We ask You to be our defender, for You have said You will be a refuge and fortress to those who trust You. Psalm 91:2. Remove the spirit of anxiety, delay, missing items, extra bills and financial ruin that has followed this strife, and restore what has been stolen or lost. Give wisdom to set godly boundaries, to document what is needed, to seek help from proper authorities when necessary, and to answer with gentleness and truth rather than returning evil. Help us to keep watch and be sober, for our adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8, but greater are You who is in us than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4. We choose to forgive and to leave judgment in Your righteous hands, and we ask for peace that surpasses understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in quiet diligence, to refuse to participate in gossip even when provoked, and to guard your own lips, for He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. 1 Peter 3:10. Keep your home and your speech in the light, avoid sorcery and divination in every form, and seek the Lord daily for wisdom and protection. If harassment continues with pictures, spying or threats, keep a careful record and seek appropriate lawful help while continuing to pray for this neighbor’s salvation rather than their destruction. The Lord sees all that is done in secret and He will bring justice in His perfect time. We stand with you for deliverance, for order to be restored, for bills and suffering to be eased, and for the peace of Christ to rule in your home and neighborhood.

We hear how worn down you feel by all the gossip and disorder around you. When a neighbor watches, spreads stories, takes pictures to mock, and stirs up confusion over lists and bills and deliveries, it can feel like your home and reputation are under constant strain. It makes sense you would feel anxious and tired, and that you want this cycle of ruin and blame to stop.

We also hear what you said so clearly, that you are not God and not responsible to fix or carry this for everyone else. That is a healthy and true boundary. You do not have to monitor what the neighbor does, defend against every false word, or absorb the chaos that comes from idleness and discord. Releasing that burden does not mean ignoring what is wrong, it means trusting God to be the one who sees, judges fairly, and protects.

One steady step that may help is to step back from watching the neighbor in return and keep your focus on your own household and peace. If there are practical harms like missing deliveries or false bills, keep a simple dated note of facts and, if needed, bring it quietly to a trusted pastor, landlord or local mediator for wisdom rather than engaging directly in the back and forth.

Father, we lift this neighbor situation to You. Bring quiet where there has been gossip, truth where there has been confusion, and rest to our friend who feels burdened. Guard their home and heart, give wisdom for each next decision, and help them rest in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your trial has been laid very plainly before the Lord, and He knows what it is to be wounded by unbridled tongues and by those who have little to do and therefore do much mischief. You describe a neighbor given to idleness and spying, to the distribution of disrespectful words and pictures, to gossip and discord, to meddling and confusion, and you rightly name such things as the works of the flesh. As it is written, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy and such like are not of God, and those who practice them shall not inherit the kingdom of God. And as you quoted, we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

There is a true peace and there is a false peace. False peace is a mere stagnation of thought or a blindness to danger, and Satan will keep conscience still if he may keep his power over the heart. But the peace which God gives is a blessing, and it only comes from God Himself. You cannot work it out yourself. It is written, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. And our Lord Jesus, when He made His will before He went to His Father, left this legacy, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. This is first peace with God through the blood which has made a full atonement, and then peace in the conscience which flows from it as a crystal stream from its fountain.

The very anxiety which arises through your being in difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. The mind is the main thing, it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war. A human tongue is soft, but it can cut to the very quick, and the wounds from a cruel tongue are not easily healed. Yet if all the forces on earth are not sufficient to save His saint, God will send sufficient reserves from the ranks of the heavenly host to preserve His people. He shall send from heaven and save you from the reproach of him that would swallow you up.

We are bound to love our neighbour, for neighbour means one who dwells near us. We are bound to love even sinners, and not to drive them from the land of hope, but to seek to reclaim them. If a man is given to roguery or lying or gossip, we cannot love his roguery, or we should be rogues ourselves. We rebuke the sin, we do not excuse it, and we pray for the sinner that he may be delivered from it. To love as our Master loved is to hate the sin and to seek the good of the soul that commits it.

Therefore we do not pray that sickness or ruin or death should be transferred to any man, nor that tragedies should fall upon your neighbour. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and our calling is to sue for peace with God and to seek peace with men so far as it lies in us. We pray instead that the Lord would rebuke every spirit of gossip, slander, idleness, malice, envy, sorcery and division, that He would put a bridle upon every lying tongue, that He would bring to nothing every device of confusion, falsehood and disorder, and that He would keep your house and your household in safety.

May the Lord grant you that peace which is peace indeed, not the peace of the devil which cries peace, peace where there is no peace, but the peace of God which passes all understanding. Bear your sorrow with Christ, and you shall enjoy perfect peace even with sorrows surging round. Keep your mind stayed upon Him, trust in Him, and continue in believing meditation upon Him, for the more you go to Christ believingly, the deeper will your peace be.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You have reconciled us to Yourself by Jesus Christ and have broken down the wall which separated us from You. We ask for peace with You through the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within, and for peace in our conscience through faith in Him. Rebuke, we entreat You, every work of darkness, all gossip and slander, all malice and envy, all idleness and meddling, all sorcery and deceit, and let them have no power over Your children. Deliver this household from anxiety and confusion, from unjust exactions and every war of distraction, from sickness and fear and the dread of the grave. Keep in perfect peace the mind that is stayed on You. Convert, we pray, those who do evil with their tongues, that they may be turned from foolish and hateful ways and may find forgiveness in Christ. And fill Your people with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is our peace. Amen.
