We hear the heaviness and distress in your request and we join with you in seeking the Lord for deliverance, protection and peace in the midst of this ongoing harassment and confusion caused by a neighbor given over to gossip, idleness and meddling. What you describe is not small, it has brought ruin, financial burden with extra bills and invoices, disorder and delay, mockery and shame, even hospitalization and suffering that has brought you near to death, and we grieve with you over this injustice and we bring it before the throne of grace together in Jesus name.

The Word of God speaks clearly about the destructive power of gossip and the sin of idleness and sorcery. The Lord warns us that a perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends Proverbs 16:28, and that where there is no wood, the fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, strife ceases Proverbs 26:20. We are told that a gossip betrays a confidence, but he who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret Proverbs 11:13, and you shall not go up and down as a slanderer among your people Leviticus 19:16. The tongue is described as a fire, a world of unrighteousness that defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna James 3:6. God also rebukes idle busybodies who do not work but meddle in the affairs of others, for we hear of some who walk among you in rebellion, who do not work at all, but are busybodies 2 Thessalonians 3:11, and they learn to be idle, going about from house to house, not only idle, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things which they ought not 1 Timothy 5:13. We are to aspire to lead a quiet life, to do our own business and to work with our own hands 1 Thessalonians 4:11.

You rightly quoted Galatians 5:20-21 that idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these are works of the flesh, and those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. You also quoted Titus 3:3 that we ourselves also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. This reminds us that sorcery, divination, voyeurism, spying, fake meetings and impostor behavior, and the deliberate distribution of false information, wrong lists, wrong sizes, wrong ranks and false accusations to take advantage of others and to create a war of distraction and disorder, are not mere human annoyances but spiritual works of darkness. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy uses idle and unoccupied time to give place to the devil Ephesians 4:27, and we must not give him that place.

We also hear your cry that you are not God, you are not an agency, you are not obligated to carry this disorder, anxiety and sorcery or to protect and defend what is unacceptable and miserable, and you are right before the Lord. We are not called to bear what only God can bear, nor to take vengeance into our own hands. Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We are called to cast all our anxiety on him, because he cares for us 1 Peter 5:7, and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are to live peaceably with all men as much as it depends on us Romans 12:18, while also setting godly boundaries and not participating in or repeating gossip, and not repaying evil for evil but overcoming evil with good Romans 12:21.

Together we now rebuke the spirits of gossip, slander, discord, idleness, voyeurism, sorcery, divination, deception, intimidation and the spirit of death and ruin that has sought to bring hospitalization, financial ruin and disgrace upon your household. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we command these works of darkness to leave and to have no more place in your home, your health, your finances or your reputation. We declare that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17, and that God will be your refuge and fortress, that He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will take refuge Psalm 91:4. We resist the devil and he must flee from us as we submit ourselves to God James 4:7.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the holy and powerful name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one who has been deeply wounded by relentless gossip, spying, mockery, false information and disorder from a neighbor. Lord, You see every picture taken in disrespect, every word spoken to destroy reputation, every delay and missing delivery, every extra bill and financial trap, every conflict and confusion sown, and every night of anxiety and suffering that has led even to hospitalization and nearness to the grave. We ask You to forgive us for any place we have tried to carry burdens only You can carry, and we cast this entire situation upon You. We ask You to heal the body and mind from the trauma of this long suffering, to restore what has been stolen financially, to correct every wrong list, wrong information and false accusation, and to bring truth to light. Lord, expose the lies and let gossip be silenced, let the fire go out for lack of wood, and let peace be restored. We pray for this neighbor, that You would bring conviction of sin, repentance and salvation, that the idle hands would be turned to honest work and the mouth that sows discord would be transformed to speak what is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear Ephesians 4:29. We ask You to set a guard over our lips Psalm 141:3 and to keep us from the snare of the slanderer. We pray for wisdom to set godly boundaries, to not engage in strife, to document and seek proper help when harassment continues, and to walk in forgiveness while not enabling evil. Let Your perfect love cast out fear 1 John 4:18 and let Your peace rule in this home. We declare healing, provision and protection over this household, that the plans of the enemy to bring ruin and to send souls to the cemetery before their time are broken in Jesus name. Keeping brief notes of what actually happens can also bring clarity when there is so much confusion.

Your cry under this long and sore affliction has been heard, and it is right that we should bring it before the Lord who sees all that is done in secret and who hears every idle word that is spoken.

The burden you describe is indeed heavy, the spying and whispering, the distribution of disrespectful images, the invention of false reports, the confusion over lists and ranks and sponsors, the mockery and the delight taken in disorder. Such things are not light matters. The Scripture you have cited names them truly among the works of the flesh, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of fury, selfishness, dissensions and factions, with envy and excess of the like sort, and declares that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another, and only grace can turn the heart from such ways.

We are commanded to love our neighbour, for neighbour means one who dwells near us. We are bound to love even sinners and to seek their reclaiming, yet we cannot love their roguery, for then we should be rogues ourselves. To love the person is to desire his turning from his evil ways, for why will he die in them. The Lord has declared that He will break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him, and that He will cast down the mighty from their seats while He lifts the poor from the dunghill. The death warrant has gone out against all that is of the creature when it exalts itself in arrogance, and God will dry up the green tree that boasts apart from His endowment.

You are not God, and you are not called to bear the weight of defending or protecting yourself against every demanding and miserable disorder as though the government of the world lay upon your shoulders. Vain is salvation hoped for from the hills and from the multitude of mountains. Truly in the Lord our God is the salvation of His people. He who will ransom from the power of the grave and redeem from death can certainly restore from sickness, from slander, from poverty, from depression of spirit and from despair. If it be easier with omnipotence to raise a man from his dunghill than to raise him from his grave, then He who will bring the body from the sepulcher will also bring you up from the pit of trouble when you are ready to perish.

Therefore keep yourself from your iniquity by keeping away from that which tempts you to it and by keeping close fellowship with God. There is a way of separation from the world and close walking with God in which no man ever suffered real injury, while the spirit of willfulness that cannot stay still but moves from one position to another in direct opposition to Providence brings only snares. You must cry to God daily to keep you and to lead you in the way of understanding, lest impulse carry you aside.

Let us pray together that the Lord will rebuke what is evil and protect what is His.

O Lord our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation, we ask Thee to rebuke the spirit of gossip, of idle laziness, of voyeurism and deceit, of sorcery and divination, of discord and slander that has brought ruin and confusion and has multiplied bills and sorrows nigh unto the grave. Put a bridle upon every lying tongue and bring to nothing every device that would destroy a reputation or provoke strife. Turn the hearts of those who do such things, that they may turn from their evil ways and live, and grant them repentance.

For Thy afflicted child who has suffered long under this war of distraction, grant perpetual protection, for Thy promise is personal and perpetual to those who abide under Thy shadow. Deliver from the anxiety and disorder that has been thrust upon an unoccupied household, provide honest provision where there has been unemployment, heal where there has been hospitalization, and stop the way to the cemetery by Thy power over death. Let no extra invoice or unjust exaction stand, but make a way of peace and order and truth. Keep this soul from all iniquity, wash away all sin in the blood of the Saviour who alone can make a lawbreaker clean, and teach the heart to love as the Master loved, without partaking in sin.

We ask this not because we can claim it by merit, but because Christ has called, and in His call there is comfort. May He who calls cause the soul to rise and come to Him, and find consolation at Calvary alone. Amen.

We have heard your burden and we bring it before the Lord with you in prayer, asking for His mercy and protection over you and your household.

You have described a long season of suffering brought on by gossip, slander, idle meddling, mockery, disorder and confusion, with real consequences in unemployment, financial pressure through extra bills and invoices, missing deliveries, delay, and even hospitalization that brought you near death. You are right to name these things for what Scripture calls them. As you quoted, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfishness, dissensions and factions and envy are works of the flesh, and those who live in them will not inherit the kingdom of God. At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, hated and hating one another, but God saved us through Jesus Christ.

The Scriptures warn us that we bite and devour one another when we wrong, accuse and slander, and are vexed by the standing of our neighbors. When someone wishes to undermine a neighbor he will say, such a person said this about him, and then add, God forgive me, do not hold me to strict account, I only repeat what I heard. But if you do not believe it, why speak it at all, why make it credible by repeating it, why pass on a story that is not true. We are called to cover and conceal the failings of neighbors, not to parade them. The one who digs a pit for his neighbor will fall into it himself, and when we try to supplant the reputation of others we injure ourselves before God who sees all.

God is not a God of war and fighting. He calls us to make war and fighting cease, both that which is against Him and that which is against our neighbor. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. This does not mean that every kind of agreement is good, for even robbers can agree together, and an evil peace can be more harmful than a good separation from what is evil. True peace comes when what is diseased is cut off and what is mutinous is removed, so that heaven and earth can be united.

Therefore we pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior:

Father in heaven, we come through the blood of Jesus Christ and ask for Your protection and deliverance. We rebuke the spirit of gossip, slander, voyeurism, mockery, idleness, envy, sorcery and division that has sought to bring ruin, confusion, disorder and discord into this home and neighborhood. We ask You to silence every lying tongue, to expose every false report, every fake accusation, every act of meddling and every attempt to sow conflict through wrong information, wrong lists and deceitful dealings. Let the war of gossip and the distribution of disrespectful pictures and bullying be brought to an end.

Lord, we ask You to heal the wounds of this long suffering, to lift the burden of anxiety and disorder, to provide for every financial need and to restore what has been lost through delay and missing provision. Touch the body that has been brought to hospitalization and near death, and grant recovery, strength and peace. Guard this household from the cemetery and from every tragedy the enemy intends, and set a boundary around it that no weapon formed against it shall prosper.

We pray also for the neighbors who have given themselves to idleness and to spying and tale bearing. Have mercy on them and bring them to repentance, that they may turn from malice and envy and be saved through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Teach them to work with their own hands and to live quietly and at peace with all men. Where there has been laziness that becomes destructive, grant honest labor. Where there has been a demonic smile in disorder, grant conviction and a hunger for righteousness.

For our brother and sister who has suffered, grant wisdom not to repay evil for evil, but to overcome evil with good, to do good to those who have harmed them as far as it depends on them, and to live at peace with all. Help them not to pass on what is not true and not to carry the story further, but to commit their reputation and their cause to You who judges righteously. Let the God of love and peace be with them, that every evil may be removed and Your peace which passes understanding may guard their heart and home.

We are not God and we are not able to defend or protect ourselves by our own power, but You are our defender. We trust not in any agency or human obligation, but in You alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

Your cry has been heard and the weight you are carrying is clear. The distress of being watched and talked about, the financial pressure of extra bills, the exhaustion that comes from hospitalization and the fear of even worse tragedy, and the confusion created when information is twisted and spread to harm your reputation, all of this brings real anxiety and disorder and it is right to bring it before the Lord.

Scripture sums up so much of what God requires in a simple command, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus taught that all the law and the prophets hang on these two. The apostle Paul says the same, that love is the fulfillment of the law, because love does no harm to a neighbor. If we truly love our neighbor as we love ourselves, we will not lie about him, steal from him, covet what is his, or devise evil against him. We will want for him the same peace, provision, and respect we want for ourselves. The fact that you are being harmed in these practical ways shows that this command is being broken against you. What you say you believe is tested by what you do, and deeds reveal whether love is real.

The Bible speaks plainly about the damage a tongue can do. A hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor. A tale bearer reveals secrets, while a faithful person conceals a matter. One who despises his neighbor lacks wisdom, but a person of understanding holds his peace. When a society breaks down, every neighbor slanders his neighbor, deceiving and not speaking truth, teaching the tongue to speak lies until people weary themselves with doing wrong. One may speak peaceably with his mouth while in his heart he is lying in wait. The Lord says He sees this and asks, shall I not call such a people to account for these things. Your description of spying, mocking pictures, invented stories, false accusations about bosses and authorities, wrong lists and numbers used to take advantage, and stirring up conflict fits this pattern of slander and discord. God names these works of the flesh among sorcery, hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfishness, dissensions, factions and envy, and warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. There was a time when we all lived in foolishness and disobedience, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, hated and hating one another, but God delivers the just through knowledge of Him.

Scripture also connects idleness with this kind of harm. The lazy person does not even use what he has, while the substance of the diligent is precious. When people have nothing useful to do, time becomes destructive and they turn to meddling, watching others, inventing meetings and errands, and distributing gossip for entertainment. That idle voyeurism and the delight taken in disorder is not innocent. It is a way of devising evil, and it errs from mercy and truth.

You are right to say you are not God and you cannot carry what only God can carry. You are not called to defend or fix every demanding and miserable situation your neighbors create, nor to act as an agency that must answer for their disorder. Your responsibility is to walk faithfully before God, to guard your own tongue, to refuse to return slander for slander, and to entrust judgment to Him.

So let us pray together for rebuke and protection and for your own peace.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask You to rebuke every spirit of gossip, slander, lying, meddling, envy, strife, sorcery and division that has been at work to destroy reputation, to create confusion, to delay and disorder daily life, and to bring financial and physical ruin. We ask You to silence the tale bearing and the mocking, to expose lies, and to stop the distribution of false information. We ask You to break the power of idleness that leads to spying and discord, and to bring conviction where there is delight in causing harm. Lord, we ask for Your protection over this home and family, for healing from the effects of hospitalization and for provision for every unjust bill and loss. Give wisdom to sort what is true from what is false, and give authorities and neighbors eyes to see the truth. Guard this heart from hating in return, and teach us to love our neighbor without doing harm, to hold our peace where wisdom requires it, and to show mercy where You call for mercy. Where we have been hated, teach us not to hate, but to live as those delivered by Your knowledge and grace. Bring peace where there has been anxiety and war of words, order where there has been disaster and confusion, and let Your justice be done in Your time and way. We trust You as our defender and judge, and we rest in Your care. Amen.

Continue to walk in that love which fulfills the law, doing no ill to your neighbor even when ill is done to you. Keep your tongue from repeating slander, keep faithful in the work God has given you to do, and keep your trust in the Lord who sees what is done in secret and who will set all things right.
