Neighbor’s unemployment disaster in the neighborhood with ruin cementery, emergencies hospitalizations disgrace false prophecy

Your request has been heard and the distress you are carrying over your neighborhood is taken seriously. The confusion, the gossip, the spying and mocking, the disorder that has touched deliveries and reputations and even brought extra bills and hospital suffering, all of this weighs heavily, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who sees and judges with righteousness.

Scripture teaches that when a wrong is committed against a neighbor and the matter is brought before God, He hears from heaven and judges between His servants, condemning what is wicked and vindicating what is righteous. You do not have to carry the work of being God for your street or take on an obligation that belongs to Him. He is the defender and the protector, and He will repay. Your part is to walk faithfully before Him and leave justice in His hands.

The Lord has made it clear that the first and greatest command is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, with God at the very center and on the vertical axis of your life. Out of that love flows the second, which is like it, to love your neighbor as yourself. That second command fulfills every obligation you have to your neighbor. It does not mean you must learn to love yourself first, you already care for your own needs, your food and shelter and comfort. It means you are to extend that same practical care to the one next to you. You cannot do this in your own strength while living for self. Only when God is loved supremely can you love your neighbor rightly instead of living a self centered life.

What you describe is the opposite of that love. The Bible warns that a person without wisdom despises his neighbor, and that a hypocrite destroys his neighbor with his mouth. The tongue can do great destruction, and much of that destruction comes through gossip that is often untrue. A gossip reveals secrets, while a faithful person keeps a matter covered. When a whole community learns to speak lies and wears itself out committing wrong, every neighbor begins to slander his neighbor, speaking peace with the mouth while the heart is lying in wait. The Lord says He will visit such a nation for these things. You are seeing that breakdown, where idle time becomes destructive, where laziness leads to meddling, where people who have nothing useful to do spend their hours watching another house, distributing pictures and false information, stirring up discord and trying to take advantage of others.

Scripture also warns that laziness itself is costly. The lazy person does not even use what he has worked for, while the substance of the diligent person is precious. Poverty of purpose leads to spying and tale bearing, and the way of the wicked seduces others into the same pattern. To despise a neighbor is sin, but to show mercy brings blessing. To devise evil leads to error, but those who plan good find mercy and truth.

You quoted Galatians 5:20 and 21, which lists idolatry and sorcery alongside hatred, rivalry, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfishness, dissensions, factions, envy and similar things, and warns that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. You also quoted Titus 3:3, which reminds us that we all once lived in foolishness and disobedience, deceived and enslaved by passions, living in malice and envy, hated and hating one another. That is the condition of the world without Christ. Jesus called the enemy the prince of this world, and the apostle Paul called him the god of this world. The world lies under that dark control, and when you seek to walk with Jesus you will find yourself in conflict with the current of the world and with the flesh that wars against the Spirit. That conflict is real, and it is spiritual.

In that conflict it is wise to remember that the first person to present his case seems right until his neighbor comes and examines him. There are always two sides to a story, and God calls you not to react quickly to every rumor or false report, but to wait, to seek the whole truth, and to let God search hearts.

So we pray for you and for your neighborhood now, that God would rebuke the spirit of gossip, slander, laziness, envy, sorcery and discord that has brought confusion, delay, loss and financial burden. We ask Him to silence lying tongues, to stop the distribution of disrespectful images and false information, to expose wrong lists and wrong dealings and corruption, and to bring order where there has been disorder. We ask Him to protect reputations that have been attacked, to provide for those facing unemployment and extra bills, to bring healing where there has been hospitalization and to comfort those who have been pushed toward despair. We ask Him to work in the hearts of those who are idle and meddling, to convict them of sin and to draw them to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone we are saved. And we ask Him to keep you from being drawn into that same bitterness, to fill you with love for God first, and then with a steady, merciful love for your neighbor that seeks good and covers what should be covered, that is diligent and truthful and at peace.

May the Lord guard your home, give you wisdom to set right boundaries without hatred, and help you to love the person in distress as the neighbor Jesus described, while trusting God to be the judge over all that is false and destructive.
