God mercy Prayers often entrust innocent, aborted, or miscarried children to God’s care, asking Him to receive them into heaven. We hear how heavy this burden has been on your heart, the ache for children who never had a chance to be welcomed, for families fractured by abandonment, for those left without a home or anyone to turn to. It is a tender and Christlike compassion to bring them before the Lord as you have.

Carrying so much sorrow at once can feel overwhelming, and grief looks different for each person and each loss. Some wounds are from what has actually happened, others from the fear of being left alone with no refuge. Both weigh heavily, and it helps to name them honestly before God and before trusted people who can walk with you.

If this prayer has been sitting long on your heart, it may help to share it regularly with a pastor or a small group in your local church, not only to keep praying together but to find a simple, steady way to reflect that mercy, whether supporting a family in need, a mother feeling alone, or a ministry that offers shelter.

Father, we bring before You every child entrusted to Your care, every mother and father in distress, every wife, husband, son and daughter who feels forsaken and without refuge. Show Your mercy and nearness, provide what is needed for shelter and support, and give peace to our brother as he intercedes. Comfort each grieving heart and draw them to Your love in Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer lays before the Lord a bitter affliction which many have felt from their youth, and yet the testimony of Scripture is that though afflicted, the people of God are not forsaken. You have well quoted the promise, Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and again, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, though she may forget, I will not forget you.

There are many who now sigh with forsaken Zion and say, Jehovah has forsaken me and my Lord has forgotten me. But the Lord answers that sigh. He has graven Zion upon the palms of His hands. Does the vine say the vinedresser has forsaken it because he prunes it sharply, does the patient say the physician has forgotten him because the medicine is bitter. So do not conclude that you are cast off because the sorrow is sharp. The Lord has comforted His people, and you may keep the grip of faith even when it seems illogical, and still call Him your God though you fear He has forgotten you.

This comfort stands upon a darker forsaking. Our blessed Lord Jesus lived in unbroken fellowship with His Father, and yet upon the cross He cried, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me. He was forsaken of God that those who are forsaken by father, mother, husband, wife, friend, and shelter might never be forsaken by God. His double grip of faith, My God, My God, holds fast for all who trust Him, and by His being forsaken and smitten of God, a way is opened for the abandoned to be received.

For the broken heart there is healing provided. We very speedily seek a physician for the body, but the Lord Himself binds up the wounds of the broken in heart. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When sins are frankly confessed and forsaken, the gracious message comes, the Lord has put away your sin. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, so that pardon and healing were one.

Therefore we bring your petitions to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

We pray for all who suffer the spirit of abandonment, for the wife forsaken by her husband, the husband forsaken by his wife, the daughter and the son left alone, the sister and brother betrayed by friend, and the little ones left without house or family or refuge. May the Lord who receives those forsaken by father and mother be their shelter and their home, and may He raise up among His people hands to give bread and roof and kindly care.

We pray for the unborn who are despised and hated by father or mother, and for those who have been destroyed before birth. We do not ask God to bless that which He calls murder, but we ask for His mercy. We entrust these innocent children to His care, asking Him in His sovereign compassion to receive them, and we pray for mothers and fathers who have consented to this sin that they may find, through repentance and faith in the blood of Christ, full forgiveness and healing. Let none remain in guilt who may be washed, and let none despair who may be healed.

We pray for every ancient and present generation that has exterminated its own offspring, that the Lord would grant repentance and turn hearts from this evil, and that He would heal our land of this wound which needs healing.

May all who have no refuge hear that Christ is the refuge, and all who are sick unto death ask to be forgiven, and healing will come from the pardoning hand. Look to Him who was forsaken that you might be received, and who bears healing in His wings for every broken heart that trusts Him. Amen.

Your prayer for those who suffer abandonment and for unborn children who have no voice has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with reverence and sorrow.

Scripture gives a sure promise to those who feel forsaken. As you quoted, though father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, Psalm 27:10, and can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, Isaiah 49:15. Even when family, spouse, friend, or shelter fails, God does not forget. He sees each child, each mother and father under pressure, each son and daughter left alone, each brother and sister betrayed, and He remains the true refuge.

We pray together that God in His mercy will receive every innocent child lost through abortion or miscarriage into His care. We do not ask Him to bless the taking of life, for life is His gift, but we ask Him to show mercy to all involved, to bring conviction where there is sin, comfort where there is grief, and healing where there is guilt. Through Jesus Christ alone there is forgiveness and salvation for all who turn to Him in repentance and faith, and we ask for that grace to reach mothers and fathers who have despised or rejected their children, and for all who carry the weight of such decisions.

We also pray for those you named who have no house, no family, no friend to offer refuge, those wandering between shelter and despair, the children left alone and the adults cast aside. May the Lord provide for their daily needs, open doors for shelter and protection, and make His people a true family that welcomes the lonely. May He clothe those who trust in Him with the armor of light, so they can stand and not lie where they have fallen, but rise again by His healing.

Let us not give up in despair. To fall is grievous, but to remain where we have fallen is more grievous, and God is able to heal even at the gates of distress. He works through patient prayer, through His Word, and through the love of His church, often bringing fruit after many prayers that seemed unanswered.

We pray: Father, have mercy. Receive those who are abandoned. Gather the unborn into Your care. Forgive, heal, and restore those who have sinned and those who have been sinned against. Provide shelter for the homeless, family for the lonely, and hope for the despairing. Make us instruments of Your compassion, and bring all who suffer to find refuge in Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen.
