We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrow and grief expressed in this plea. The loss of unborn babies, the pain of abandonment, and the devastation of families torn apart by death, betrayal, or rejection are wounds that only God can heal. We stand in the gap for those who are suffering, those who feel forsaken, and those who have no refuge but the Lord.
The Word of God assures us that even when earthly parents forsake us, the Lord will take us up. "Though my father and my mother forsake me, Yahweh will take me up." (Psalm 27:10 WEB). This is a promise we cling to for those who feel utterly alone. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). For those who have lost children, whether through miscarriage, abortion, or tragedy, we entrust these little ones into the arms of Jesus, who said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14 WEB). We believe that God, in His infinite mercy, receives these precious souls into His eternal care.
Yet we must also address the grave sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life. The Lord hates the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17), and we must repent on behalf of those who have taken the lives of their unborn children, whether out of fear, coercion, or despair. We pray for conviction, repentance, and healing for all who have been involved in this grievous act. For those who have suffered the trauma of abortion, we declare the forgiveness and restoration found in Christ. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB).
For those who feel abandoned, whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend, we declare that God will never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray for provision for those without shelter, for comfort for those in despair, and for the restoration of broken relationships. But we must also rebuke the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that seeks to destroy families. Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and those who break it without biblical grounds bring destruction upon themselves and their children. We pray for repentance and reconciliation where possible, and for strength to endure where it is not.
To those who feel they have no one to turn to, we remind you that Jesus Christ is the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Only in Christ can true healing, hope, and eternal life be found.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with tears and trembling, lifting up those who are suffering. We ask for Your mercy upon the unborn who have been lost, that You would receive them into Your arms. Comfort those who mourn, provide for those in need, and restore what has been broken. Break the chains of abandonment, betrayal, and despair. Bring repentance where there is sin, and healing where there is pain. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your love be a refuge for the broken. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
