Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne

We join you in this deep burden for the unborn and for all who are suffering abandonment and loss, and we bring this before the Lord together in Jesus' name.

Our hearts grieve with you over the neighbor's unborn babies who have died and over every life lost through abortion. Scripture is clear that every child is known and formed by God and precious in His sight. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the belly I knew you. Psalm 127:3 says Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. Exodus 20:13 says You shall not murder. When generations are cut off through the shedding of innocent blood, it is not just a personal tragedy but an extermination of what God intended to be a heritage, and we must call it what it is and rebuke that spirit of death and abandonment. Yet we also know that God's mercy is greater and that He is the defender of those who have no defender.

We also lift up every wife abandoned by her husband, every husband abandoned by his wife, every daughter and son left alone, every mother and father who feels forsaken, every child without a house or family or friend to refuge in, every beggar seeking shelter, every sister and brother who has been betrayed. The Lord sees each one. You quoted Psalm 27:10 Though my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up, and Isaiah 49:15 Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. That is the promise we cling to. Even when people forsake, hate, or despise the most vulnerable among us including the unborn despised or hated by their own mother or father, God does not forget and God does not forsake. Deuteronomy 31:6 says Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid nor be scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Matthew 19:14 says But Jesus said, Allow the little children, and do not forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We entrust every aborted, miscarried, and abandoned child into His care, believing that only God can receive them into heaven and that He does so with perfect justice and perfect mercy.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have access to Your throne and through whom alone we are saved, for Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Lord have mercy on the unborn who have been murdered and abandoned, receive them into Your presence and comfort them. Have mercy on this generation that has chosen death over life, bring conviction and repentance where there has been hardness of heart, and let Your forgiveness be known through the blood of Jesus for all who repent, for 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Have mercy on every mother and father who has rejected their child, heal their hearts and draw them to repentance and to Your love. Have mercy on every abandoned wife, husband, son, daughter, friend, and lonely child who has no house or family to refuge in, be their refuge and shelter, be their Father to the fatherless and their defender. Provide shelter, provision, godly community, and healing for their wounds of abandonment. Break the spirit of suffering and abortive destruction over families and restore a love for life and for Your design for family and marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. Let those who are alone be set in families and let Your church rise up to care for orphans and widows in their affliction. We ask You to comfort our neighbor in their loss and use this sorrow to turn many hearts toward You. We trust that You have not forgotten any of these little ones or any of the brokenhearted who cry out to You, and we thank You that You will receive all who come to You through Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We hear how heavy this burden has been on your heart, and we are grateful you brought it to the Lord so honestly. Carrying a prayer for those who feel abandoned, children without a home, parents without support, families torn apart, and unborn little ones who were never welcomed, is a tender and costly kind of intercession. It makes sense that it would leave you feeling sorrowful and even weary.

Grief over these kinds of losses is real and it looks different for each person. There is no single way it should feel or how long it should last, and it often comes in waves. When so many needs press in at once, it can help to keep bringing what is most urgent to God in simple, honest prayers, and to let a few trusted people carry the burden with you as well.

If you are holding much of this alone, we encourage you to share it with a pastor or a mature believer in your local church who can pray with you face to face and help you stay connected to community. You do not have to be the only refuge for everyone you are praying for. The church is meant to be that shelter together.

Father, we lift to You every child and adult who feels forsaken and without refuge, and every unborn child entrusted to Your care. Show them Your mercy and nearness, and give comfort and wisdom to all who grieve these losses. Guard this one who is praying, give him peace as he trusts You, and lead him to steady fellowship and support. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been heard, and it is a heavy one, for it touches the very heart of human sorrow, abandonment, the despising of the unborn, and the shedding of innocent blood. We join you in bringing these griefs before the throne of grace, where mercy alone can meet such deep need.

There is a word of the Lord which you have well remembered, Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me. And again, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Though she may forget, yet will not I forget thee, saith the Lord. Here is comfort for every forsaken wife, every forsaken husband, every daughter and son left alone, every sister and brother betrayed, every friend abandoned, and every little child cast out without house or refuge. When earthly ties are broken and no shelter remains, the Lord Himself becomes the shelter.

The law of old provided cities of refuge, and at every by road and turning there was a sign post plainly visible with this word upon it, Refuge, Refuge, pointing the way for the guilty and the pursued. Now there are not six Christs, there is but one, but there is a Christ everywhere. Christ is the true City of Refuge and He preserves all those who flee to Him for mercy. To Him we bid the abandoned to flee, to Him we point the homeless and the friendless, for He is near to every broken heart in every place. Let no one sit still and say, there is no refuge for me, for the gates stand open night and day.

We pray for those who suffer under an abortive spirit and for the generations that have been cut off. We confess before God that the unborn are despised and hated by their own father and mother in many cases, and that their blood cries out for mercy. Only God can receive these little ones. We entrust every innocent child, aborted or miscarried, to His care, asking in the name of Jesus Christ that He who formed them in the womb will gather them to Himself in heaven, for His compassion fails not. And we pray also for those who have done this evil, that they may see the avenger of blood, even the fiery law of God, pursuing them, not to drive them to despair, but to drive them to the City of Refuge. The blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, cleanses us from all sin, and there is mercy extended very freely to such sinners as these when they flee to Him in repentance and faith.

We pray for all who are alone, the children abandoned everywhere, those who beg for shelter or are left without house, family, or friend to refuge them. May the Lord who made heaven and earth show Himself their Father and their dwelling place. May He raise up among His people hands to give bread and shelter, and hearts to show the love of Christ. May He heal the breach in families, restore what is broken according to His holy ordinance of marriage, that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman wherein alone the Lord has appointed the holy trust of children and the comfort of home, and may He turn the hearts of fathers and mothers to their children.

We pray that every soul who has no refuge tonight may hear the cry, Refuge, and walk therein and be saved. Salvation is in Christ alone, by His blood alone, and all who trust in His name shall find that though they were not His people, now they are His people, and though they had not obtained mercy, now they have obtained mercy. May the Spirit go with the Word, for without Him it is so much wasted breath, but with Him the wounded shall be bound up and the guilty shall be forgiven.

O God, You have taught us from our youth that Your promise may tarry but never fails. Remember the forsaken, remember the unborn, remember the guilty who need pardon, and let Your overtaking mercy find them. We ask all this, not for any merit in us, but through the bleeding witness of Your Son, who bore our sin and reveals at once Your hatred of sin and Your great love to sinners. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Refuge and Redeemer we pray, Amen.

We have heard the burden you carry for those who suffer abandonment and for the unborn who have no voice, and we join you in bringing them before the throne of mercy. Scripture gives us confidence that when father and mother forsake us the Lord will receive us, and that even if a mother could forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, the Lord does not forget His own. We pray that this promise would be a refuge for every lonely child, every abandoned wife and husband, every daughter and son left alone, and every person without house or family or friend to shelter them.

We entrust to God all innocent children who have died through abortion or miscarriage or who were despised by father or mother, asking in the name of Jesus Christ that in His great mercy He would receive them into His care and into heaven, for His mercy made all things and His mercy alone can save. We ask God to have mercy also on those who have taken part in the shedding of innocent blood, that they would turn to Jesus Christ alone for salvation and find forgiveness, for there is no other name by which we are saved.

We pray for families broken and scattered, for generations wounded by this sin, and for sisters and brothers and friends who have been betrayed and left without refuge. May the Lord move His people to show the mercy that marks a Christian, to be merciful as our Father in heaven is merciful, to offer shelter and practical help and compassion, for mercy quenches fire and brings light and nothing so draws hearts to God as mercy shown in love.

We ask God to provide homes for the homeless, comfort for the abandoned, and repentance and healing where there has been hardness of heart. May He establish marriage as He ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and keep all intimacy within that covenant, and may He teach us all to love mercy, to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to remember the poor.

We lay all of this before the God of all compassion, trusting not in our worth but in His great goodness and mercy through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
