Beloved of All
Your prayer for those who suffer abandonment and for the unborn has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.
We bring before God all who feel forsaken, the wife abandoned by her husband, the husband abandoned by his wife, the daughter and son left alone, the children without shelter, the brother and sister betrayed by friends, and every neighbor who has no house or refuge to turn to. We ask the Father to show Himself as their shelter and defender, to provide for their daily needs, to give them a safe place to dwell, and to surround them with faithful people who will care for them in love. We pray especially for those who are homeless and for those whose minds and hearts are troubled, that God would grant them peace, protection, and healing.
We also lift up every unborn child who is despised or rejected, every child lost through abortion or miscarriage or death. We entrust these little ones to the mercy and care of God, asking Him in His compassion to receive them. We pray for mothers and fathers who are burdened or hardened, that God would grant repentance, healing, and a love for life, and that He would comfort all who mourn these losses. We ask for mercy for families and generations torn apart, that God would bring restoration where there has been destruction and that He would let His life and hope be seen in the next generation.
We cling to the promises you recalled, that though father and mother may forsake us, the Lord will receive us, and that even if a mother could forget her nursing child, the Lord will not forget His own. He does not abandon those who belong to Him, and salvation and mercy are found in Jesus Christ alone.
May the Lord grant comfort to the grieving, shelter to the homeless, family to the lonely, and rest in His presence to those who have died. May He turn hearts toward Himself, strengthen marriages as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and teach us to walk in purity and faithfulness before Him. We ask all this trusting in the mercy of God through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone saves and who alone gives eternal peace. Amen.
