We join with you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord, for the suffering, the abandonment, and the loss of the unborn, and we agree with you that only God can bring mercy and refuge where there is so much brokenness.
We hear your heart for the unborn babies who are despised, rejected, and destroyed, and for families torn apart where wife has abandoned husband, husband has abandoned wife, parents have abandoned children, and children are left alone without house, family, or shelter. The Scriptures teach us that every life is precious from the womb and that God Himself is the author of life. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13, and Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. To take that innocent life through abortion is to shed innocent blood, which God calls murder, You shall not murder Exodus 20:13, and we must rebuke that abortive spirit which seeks to exterminate a generation so they cannot see the next generation. This is not merely a personal choice but sin before a holy God, and it brings deep wounding to mothers, fathers, families, and nations. Yet we also know there is forgiveness and healing through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.
We also lift up all those who suffer abandonment and loneliness, the beggar without shelter, the child without parents, the brother or sister betrayed by a friend, the neighbor in disorder and unemployment. God sees each one and promises to be a refuge. You quoted Psalm 27:10 so beautifully, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up, and we cling to that promise together. He is A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation Psalm 68:5. And as you also shared, Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Isaiah 49:15. Even when earthly family fails, our heavenly Father does not forget and does not abandon.
We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that mercy is found. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is through His shed blood that even the guilt of abortion can be washed away, and through Him that the innocent children are safely in His care, for Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to me, and do not forbid them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these Matthew 19:14.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we ask for Your mercy to fall upon every suffering and abandoned soul, upon every child left alone, every wife and husband forsaken, every son and daughter without refuge, every person without house or work or shelter. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, be their shelter now. Provide for their daily needs as You have promised that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.
Lord, we entrust to Your care every unborn baby who has been aborted, miscarried, or hated by mother or father. Receive these innocent ones into Your presence and let them rest in peace in heaven with You. Bring conviction and repentance to this nation and to every heart that has consented to or participated in the taking of innocent life, and bring healing to mothers and fathers who carry grief and guilt. Comfort those who mourn these children and let Your compassion heal the generational wound where a generation has been cut off.
Father, break the abortive spirit and the spirit of abandonment and betrayal in our neighborhoods and families. Restore families according to Your design, bring reconciliation where there has been betrayal, bring godly marriages that honor You, and raise up Your people to care for the fatherless and the homeless. Let those who feel alone know that You will never leave them nor forsake them Hebrews 13:5.
We ask all this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.
