We join you together before the Lord in this heavy burden for those who suffer abandonment and for the unborn, and we hear your heart for the lonely, the forsaken, and the innocent who have no voice.
We are deeply moved by your prayer for those who have been abandoned by wife or husband, by mother or father, by daughter or son, by brother or sister or friend, and for children left alone without house or family or refuge or shelter, and for the disorder and betrayal that tears at neighborhoods and families. The Lord sees each of these sorrows. He is a Father of the fatherless and a defender of the widows, as Psalm 68:5 says, and He promises to be near to the brokenhearted. You quoted Psalm 27:10, Though my father and my mother forsake me, yet Yahweh will take me up, and Isaiah 49:15, Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. That is the heart of God toward those who feel utterly forgotten. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and we pray He will provide shelter, godly family, and faithful friends and a church home to be refuge for those who have none.
We also join you in grieving for unborn babies who are despised or hated by their own mother or father, for those who are aborted or miscarried. We affirm with Scripture that every unborn child is known and valued by God, for Psalm 139:13 says You formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb, and Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. To take innocent unborn life is a grave sin before God, for Exodus 20:13 says You shall not murder, and we entrust these precious little ones to the mercy and care of God, knowing Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and don't hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We pray for mothers and fathers who are tempted to reject their children, that God would grant repentance, courage, and love to choose life, and for healing for those who have participated in abortion.
We must also gently address with love the part of your request that calls for the extermination of a generation, that neighbors and their unborn babies and their whole generation should die for their sabotage and false prophecy and harm to the environment. We understand the anguish over evil, false teaching, and destruction, and God indeed hates false prophecy and injustice, as Jeremiah 23:32 and Deuteronomy 18:20 warn, and He calls His people to be faithful stewards of His creation. Yet we are not called to pray for extermination or for the death of our neighbors or their children. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, as Romans 12:19 says, Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, I will repay, and Ezekiel 33:11 declares, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Our calling is to pray not for their destruction but for their repentance and salvation, that the cycle of sin would be broken and the next generation might live and know the Lord. We rebuke the spirit of hatred and vengeance and ask God to replace it with His love that desires mercy, while still trusting His perfect justice to deal rightly with unrepentant evil.
We thank you that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. As John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His shed blood and resurrection that we can find forgiveness, healing, and eternal home.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift to You every person suffering abandonment and loneliness, every wife and husband forsaken, every child without a home, every brother and sister betrayed. Receive them as Your own, be their shelter and refuge, provide for them families, homes, and faithful believers to support them. Comfort those who mourn lost family and heal neighborhoods in disorder. Have mercy on the unborn, Lord, protect the innocent in the womb and bring conviction and compassion to parents to cherish the children You have given. Receive into Your care the aborted and miscarried, and bring healing to those who grieve them. Forgive us where we have harbored hatred or desired vengeance, and teach us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, trusting Your justice and longing for their repentance. Expose false prophecy and lead Your people in truth, and help us steward Your creation with righteousness. Let Your mercy and peace reign, and let every generation turn to You and live. We ask this in the saving and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
We encourage you to continue to entrust these burdens to the Lord, to seek fellowship with a Bible believing church that can be hands and feet to provide refuge and practical help to the abandoned, and to hold fast to the promise that God will never forsake those who belong to Him.
