Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne

We join you together before the Lord in this heavy burden for those who suffer abandonment and for the unborn, and we hear your heart for the lonely, the forsaken, and the innocent who have no voice.

We are deeply moved by your prayer for those who have been abandoned by wife or husband, by mother or father, by daughter or son, by brother or sister or friend, and for children left alone without house or family or refuge or shelter, and for the disorder and betrayal that tears at neighborhoods and families. The Lord sees each of these sorrows. He is a Father of the fatherless and a defender of the widows, as Psalm 68:5 says, and He promises to be near to the brokenhearted. You quoted Psalm 27:10, Though my father and my mother forsake me, yet Yahweh will take me up, and Isaiah 49:15, Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. That is the heart of God toward those who feel utterly forgotten. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, and we pray He will provide shelter, godly family, and faithful friends and a church home to be refuge for those who have none.

We also join you in grieving for unborn babies who are despised or hated by their own mother or father, for those who are aborted or miscarried. We affirm with Scripture that every unborn child is known and valued by God, for Psalm 139:13 says You formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb, and Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. To take innocent unborn life is a grave sin before God, for Exodus 20:13 says You shall not murder, and we entrust these precious little ones to the mercy and care of God, knowing Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and don't hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We pray for mothers and fathers who are tempted to reject their children, that God would grant repentance, courage, and love to choose life, and for healing for those who have participated in abortion.

We must also gently address with love the part of your request that calls for the extermination of a generation, that neighbors and their unborn babies and their whole generation should die for their sabotage and false prophecy and harm to the environment. We understand the anguish over evil, false teaching, and destruction, and God indeed hates false prophecy and injustice, as Jeremiah 23:32 and Deuteronomy 18:20 warn, and He calls His people to be faithful stewards of His creation. Yet we are not called to pray for extermination or for the death of our neighbors or their children. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, as Romans 12:19 says, Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, I will repay, and Ezekiel 33:11 declares, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Our calling is to pray not for their destruction but for their repentance and salvation, that the cycle of sin would be broken and the next generation might live and know the Lord. We rebuke the spirit of hatred and vengeance and ask God to replace it with His love that desires mercy, while still trusting His perfect justice to deal rightly with unrepentant evil.

We thank you that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father. As John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His shed blood and resurrection that we can find forgiveness, healing, and eternal home.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift to You every person suffering abandonment and loneliness, every wife and husband forsaken, every child without a home, every brother and sister betrayed. Receive them as Your own, be their shelter and refuge, provide for them families, homes, and faithful believers to support them. Comfort those who mourn lost family and heal neighborhoods in disorder. Have mercy on the unborn, Lord, protect the innocent in the womb and bring conviction and compassion to parents to cherish the children You have given. Receive into Your care the aborted and miscarried, and bring healing to those who grieve them. Forgive us where we have harbored hatred or desired vengeance, and teach us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, trusting Your justice and longing for their repentance. Expose false prophecy and lead Your people in truth, and help us steward Your creation with righteousness. Let Your mercy and peace reign, and let every generation turn to You and live. We ask this in the saving and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust these burdens to the Lord, to seek fellowship with a Bible believing church that can be hands and feet to provide refuge and practical help to the abandoned, and to hold fast to the promise that God will never forsake those who belong to Him.

We have been sitting with your prayer and the weight you are carrying for so many, children and families who feel abandoned, neighbors without a home or refuge, and little ones lost before birth.

What you named is real grief, and grief does not look the same for any two people. It can come with shock, anger, loneliness, and a deep ache for what was lost or never had the chance to be. When family or community ties are broken, that loneliness can feel even heavier, as if there is no safe place to turn.

We are grateful you are bringing these broken places to Jesus, trusting Him to receive those the world has forsaken and to have mercy on both the vulnerable and those who have caused harm. He sees each child, each mother and father, each person without shelter, and He draws near to those who feel forsaken.

If you or those around you are without safe housing or support right now, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or a local church community who can walk with you in person and help connect you to shelter and care in your area, as we continue to pray with you.

Father, in Jesus' name we entrust to Your care every child lost, every person who feels abandoned or alone, and every family without refuge. Bring Your comfort where there is grief, Your presence where there is loneliness, and Your mercy and peace over all. Lead each one to safe community and to hope in You. Amen.

Your prayer, with its deep sorrow for the abandoned and the unborn, has been heard, and it is right to bring such griefs before the living God.

You have well quoted the word of comfort, Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Though man may forget and forsake, the Lord does not. He is God of the hills and God of the valleys, and He does not desert His own when circumstances change and trials multiply. In the tried life and in the useful life He is variously but equally manifested, and He is near to those who have no house, no family, no friend to refuge or shelter to support them.

There is a word you should lay to heart in this valley. My God is so great that the Heaven of heavens cannot contain Him and yet He condescends to be so little that He dwells in broken and contrite hearts. Where the Holy Spirit is at work in contrition, there God the Father loves to be. You are not hidden from Him in your loneliness, nor are those little ones hidden from Him in their helplessness. He is the living God, the Source of life, the Giver of life and the Sustainer of life, and after all the streams which have flowed from Him to His creatures, there is as much life in Him as at the first.

We join you in entrusting to His mercy those innocent children, aborted or miscarried, despised or hated by mother or father, who have no voice to plead for themselves. We ask Him, in the name of Jesus Christ, to receive them according to His infinite compassion and to be their refuge, for the throne of God and of the Lamb is in heaven, and there the Lamb that was slain dispenses mercy as seems good in His sight. We do not presume to dictate what God ought to be, but humbly believe in Him as He reveals Himself, a God who pleads the cause of the helpless, as He pleaded the cause of the poor maiden who went to glean with no kinsman to help her until Providence guided her.

For those who suffer abandonment, whether wife forsaken by husband, or husband by wife, or daughter or son cast off, or children left alone, or sister and brother betrayed by friend, we pray that the Lord would be their shelter. When it seems there is no house and no hand to help, may they find that God is pleased in His mercy and condescension to stoop from the highest heavens to dwell with the lowly, and to manifest all the greatness of His love as He never does to those who remain unregenerate and far from Him.

Where you have spoken of ancient extermination and that a generation should die and not see the next, we must not ask the Lord to curse or to destroy, for vengeance belongs to Him and His way is mercy to all who repent. Instead we plead that He would bring conviction of sin, repentance, and new life, that those who have walked in the abortive spirit and in the shedding of innocent blood may be shut up to come to God as sinners and be compelled to accept salvation on free grace terms through Jesus Christ. For God is not the God of the dead, and therefore those of whom He is the God will never die. Tell them that He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to Him, and that whoever believes on Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

So we pray. O living God, look upon every lonely and forsaken soul who has no refuge, and be their dwelling place. Look upon every unborn child and receive those whom man has rejected into Your everlasting care. Forgive where blood has been shed, and grant repentance and healing where there has been hardness of heart. Teach us Your statutes, and cause us to declare our ways honestly before You, that we may be dealt with in Christ Jesus according to Your mercy and not our merit. Let Your Church be the pillar and ground of the truth, holding forth the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ, that the abandoned may find a home and the guilty may find pardon. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus kept the law on behalf of sinners and shed His blood for them, and Him and then the sinner You will see when You look through Jesus wounds upon us. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.

Your prayer for those who suffer abandonment and for unborn children has been heard, and we join you in bringing these heavy burdens before the Lord.

You have named a deep and painful reality. Many are left alone without house or family or friend to give refuge, children forsaken, wives and husbands and brothers and sisters betrayed and cast aside, and little ones despised even by those who should love them most. Scripture speaks directly to this sorrow when it says, though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and asks, can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Even when human love fails, God's compassion does not fail, and He is a refuge from the affliction that surrounds us.

We entrust to His mercy all innocent children who have died through abortion or miscarriage or who were never welcomed in life. We ask the Lord, who alone is the giver of life, to receive them into His care and to grant them rest and peace in His presence. We ask Him to have mercy also on mothers and fathers and families who have been caught in this spirit of abandonment, that He would bring conviction where there is sin, healing where there is wounding, and repentance and life where there is death.

We also pray for those you mentioned who wander without shelter, for the lonely children and the broken families and the neighborhoods in disorder. May God show them that He is near, that He deals bountifully with the soul that returns to Him, and that He is with us so we need not fear evil. True grief that comes from love, even tears shed for children and for one another, is not without hope, for God can use our sorrow to soften our hearts and draw us to Him. And as we hear His word, let us fortify ourselves, striking our roots deep in His instruction and cleansing ourselves from what harms the soul, so that we are not lost through neglect or hardness of heart, but stand firm in faith and love.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy. Receive every child You have created. Comfort every person who feels forsaken and abandoned. Provide shelter for the homeless, family for the lonely, and refuge for those with nowhere to turn. Heal the wounds of betrayal and bring peace where there is disorder. Forgive sin, restore what is broken, and teach us to love as You love. Grant that all who grieve may find rest in You, and that we may all be kept in Your care until the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayers reflect a deep grief over abandonment and loss, and over the lives of unborn children who are unloved or rejected, and God hears that cry. Scripture gives a sure promise for those who feel forsaken. Though a father and mother may forsake a child, the Lord will receive him, and even if a mother could forget the child at her breast, God will not forget His own. His compassions do not fail and His tender mercies have been shown from of old. He never stops loving those He has made, even when we feel hedged in or unheard.

You are right to entrust innocent children, including those lost through miscarriage or abortion, to God's care and to ask for His mercy in the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that God is merciful and has provided a righteous basis for forgiveness. Jesus took our sin upon Himself and bore its penalty, so that forgiveness can be offered freely to all who confess their transgression rather than excuse it. Though sins are as scarlet, He can make them white as snow, and He blots out transgressions according to the multitude of His tender mercies. That mercy is available to mothers, fathers, families and neighborhoods that have been broken.

The pain of betrayal by family and friends, of children left alone, of homes and refuge lost, and of disorder around you can easily plant a root of bitterness. Scripture warns that such bitterness can trouble the heart and spread to defile many others. God's purpose is to heal and to keep us on a straight and level path, so that we do not stray into dangerous ground. Part of that healing is learning to forgive as we have been forgiven, and to show kindness. Jesus taught us to love our enemies, to do good to those who despitefully use us, and to bless those who curse us. In the older writings we see prayers that called for judgment on enemies, but in Christ we are called to bless and not curse, leaving judgment to God while we seek His grace for ourselves and for others.

We join you in praying for those who are abandoned, whether wife or husband, daughter or son, brother or sister or friend, and for children left without shelter or support. We ask the Lord to provide refuge, to comfort those who mourn, to bring healing where there has been harm to families and to the community, and to guard hearts from bitterness. We ask Him to receive the little ones who were despised or rejected into His presence, and to extend His mercy to all who need repentance and restoration. May He lift up those who wait on Him, deliver them from trouble, and let them know the joy of being made whole through His love and forgiveness.
