We join with you in this deep burden and mourning over the loss of unborn babies, over generations cut off and families broken by abortion and abandonment, and over all who suffer alone without house, family or refuge to support them. Our hearts ache with you for every child despised or hated by mother or father, for every wife abandoned by her husband and husband abandoned by his wife, for every daughter and son left alone, for every brother and sister betrayed, and for every child left without shelter. God sees and does not forget what man forgets or rejects.
We affirm what Scripture declares so clearly, that every unborn life is known and formed by God and precious in His sight. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. To take that innocent life is sin before God, for He commands You shall not murder Exodus 20:13 and He hates hands that shed innocent blood Proverbs 6:17. When we speak of abortive generations and extermination of families, we are speaking of the shedding of innocent blood that grieves the heart of God, and we must rebuke it plainly as murder of the unborn, not a choice to be celebrated or ignored. Yet we also know that God is merciful to forgive those who repent and turn to Him through Jesus Christ, for His mercy is greater than our sin.
We also hear your cry for those who are suffering abandonment and you rightly cling to the promises you quoted. When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10. Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Isaiah 49:15. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and is a refuge in trouble. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:5-6. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Jesus Himself said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these Matthew 19:14, and we trust that those innocent, aborted and miscarried children are entrusted to His care and received into His presence.
We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up every unborn baby who has been despised, rejected and murdered, and every generation lost through abortion. Have mercy, Lord, and receive these little ones into Your presence, grant them rest and peace in heaven with You. We ask Your mercy also for mothers and fathers who have participated in or consented to this, that You would bring conviction, repentance and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, and healing from guilt and shame. We lift up every person suffering abandonment, every wife and husband forsaken, every daughter and son left alone, every child without shelter, every neighbor living in disorder and spiritual oppression, everyone who feels they have no house, no family, no friend, no refuge. Be their refuge and shelter, set the lonely in families, provide homes and godly community to support them, deliver them from every betwitching and evil spirit and bring peace to their neighborhoods. Comfort those who have lost generations and ancestors, who feel their family line is exterminated, and remind them that You do not forget Your people and that You can redeem and restore what has been lost. Draw all who are suffering to know Jesus as Savior, to believe on Him and be saved, and to walk in Your ways. We ask this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to keep entrusting these little ones and these broken families to the Lord, and to keep proclaiming the value of every life and the sanctity of marriage and family as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman for the raising of children in the fear of the Lord. If you know those who are considering abortion or who are living in abandonment and confusion, speak to them with truth and compassion, point them to shelter and help, and above all point them to Jesus Christ who alone can forgive, heal and make whole. He will not forsake those who come to Him.
