To Mothers
A mother’s godly life shapes her children’s faith and future more than any other influence.
Rizpah On the Rock
A mother’s love endures beyond death and calls us to live worthily of her watchful care.
Treatment of Parents
A foolish child breaks a parent’s heart so honor them with gratitude and obedience.
We join with you in this deep burden and mourning over the loss of unborn babies, over generations cut off and families broken by abortion and abandonment, and over all who suffer alone without house, family or refuge to support them. Our hearts ache with you for every child despised or hated by mother or father, for every wife abandoned by her husband and husband abandoned by his wife, for every daughter and son left alone, for every brother and sister betrayed, and for every child left without shelter. God sees and does not forget what man forgets or rejects.

We affirm what Scripture declares so clearly, that every unborn life is known and formed by God and precious in His sight. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. To take that innocent life is sin before God, for He commands You shall not murder Exodus 20:13 and He hates hands that shed innocent blood Proverbs 6:17. When we speak of abortive generations and extermination of families, we are speaking of the shedding of innocent blood that grieves the heart of God, and we must rebuke it plainly as murder of the unborn, not a choice to be celebrated or ignored. Yet we also know that God is merciful to forgive those who repent and turn to Him through Jesus Christ, for His mercy is greater than our sin.

We also hear your cry for those who are suffering abandonment and you rightly cling to the promises you quoted. When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up Psalm 27:10. Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you Isaiah 49:15. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and is a refuge in trouble. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families Psalm 68:5-6. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Jesus Himself said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these Matthew 19:14, and we trust that those innocent, aborted and miscarried children are entrusted to His care and received into His presence.

We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by His name that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up every unborn baby who has been despised, rejected and murdered, and every generation lost through abortion. Have mercy, Lord, and receive these little ones into Your presence, grant them rest and peace in heaven with You. We ask Your mercy also for mothers and fathers who have participated in or consented to this, that You would bring conviction, repentance and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus, and healing from guilt and shame. We lift up every person suffering abandonment, every wife and husband forsaken, every daughter and son left alone, every child without shelter, every neighbor living in disorder and spiritual oppression, everyone who feels they have no house, no family, no friend, no refuge. Be their refuge and shelter, set the lonely in families, provide homes and godly community to support them, deliver them from every betwitching and evil spirit and bring peace to their neighborhoods. Comfort those who have lost generations and ancestors, who feel their family line is exterminated, and remind them that You do not forget Your people and that You can redeem and restore what has been lost. Draw all who are suffering to know Jesus as Savior, to believe on Him and be saved, and to walk in Your ways. We ask this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to keep entrusting these little ones and these broken families to the Lord, and to keep proclaiming the value of every life and the sanctity of marriage and family as God designed it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman for the raising of children in the fear of the Lord. If you know those who are considering abortion or who are living in abandonment and confusion, speak to them with truth and compassion, point them to shelter and help, and above all point them to Jesus Christ who alone can forgive, heal and make whole. He will not forsake those who come to Him.

We were moved reading your prayer and the weight you are carrying for so many others. You are lifting up unborn children, parents and children who feel abandoned, families without a house or refuge, and whole generations who have known loss. It is a heavy and tender burden to bring before the Lord, and we join you in bringing it to Him.

Grief over that kind of loss is deep and very personal. No two people carry it the same way, and it often comes in waves over time. When abandonment and the loss of family and home are part of the story, the ache can feel even more isolating. Please know you are not forgotten as you pray for others who feel forgotten.

If you or your neighbors are without stable shelter or support right now, we encourage you alongside prayer to reach out to a trusted local church or pastor who may know practical resources nearby and can walk with you personally in the days ahead. You do not have to carry all of this alone.

We are praying for you and for all those you named.

Father, in Jesus' name have mercy on each child and each family brought before You here. Receive the little ones into Your care and bring comfort to those who feel abandoned and without refuge. Give wisdom, safety, and steady help to those without a home, and draw near to our friend who is interceding for them. Lead each one to Your peace and provision. Amen.

Your cry has come before the Lord and before His people, and it is right that such sorrows should be spread out before Him who alone can comfort. Men need comfort because they are but men, and you have set forth a great burden of grief, of abandonment, of families broken and scattered, of children left without shelter or refuge, of generations cut off, and of unborn little ones despised and cast away.

The word you have quoted is true and precious, Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and again, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne, though she may forget, I will not forget you. This is the comfort of God, not the poor comfort of man. When He undertakes the work, the soul is satisfied even out of poor earthen vessels, but it must be God's work. Remember the comfort which God gives will be a comfort to suit your present place and position. Even where the furnace is hottest, there He says, I will comfort you, and as one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you.

Therefore fly to this comfort with speed in every time of trouble and get to be familiar with God's Word so that you may do so. It is God's Word that comforts, and it comforts mainly by its quickening power within the soul. When the promise is applied with power, when the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son, which cleanses us from all sin, is laid home to the heart, we have enough comfort to swim through seas of trouble without fear. We belong to His family and shall never be cast out of it. Do not be unwilling to be comforted when right comfort is presented to you, comfort from God Himself.

And the place of comfort is often the assembly of God's people. Therefore live not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is. Do not expect God to comfort you apart from the means He has appointed, but seek Him in His house, among His people, under His Word, where He delights to speak peace.

Let us pray with you and for you.

O Lord our Father, through Jesus Christ Your Son alone, in whom alone is salvation, have mercy upon all who suffer abandonment, upon wives forsaken by husbands and husbands by wives, upon daughters and sons left alone, upon brothers and sisters betrayed by friends, upon the lonely and the shelterless who have no house and no refuge. Receive them as Your own, be their dwelling place, and establish their hearts in every good word and work, that comfort and constancy may be theirs together.

We entrust to Your tender care the innocent unborn, those despised and hated by father or mother, those taken by abortion or lost by miscarriage, and all whose lives were ended before they drew breath. O God, in Your mercy, receive them. We ask not to bless what You call sin, but to show mercy to sinners and to gather these little ones into Your presence through the merits of Christ, who shed His blood for sin. Grant rest in Your peace to generations cut off, and let Your compassion triumph where human compassion has failed.

Have mercy also upon those who have taken life and upon this disordered and bewitched neighbourhood, that they may be separated from their sin by Your grace, repent and find cleansing in the blood of Jesus, and learn to walk in Your ways. Teach us to honor marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and to keep all our ways within Your holy will.

Comfort Your people, O Lord, comfort Your people, and let Your Word quicken us until we declare Your wondrous works with pen and voice, to Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope, Amen.
