We join you in this deep burden for the unborn and for all who suffer abandonment and we hear your cry for mercy for those whose generations have been cut off and for families scattered and left without refuge.

The Lord sees every child formed in the womb and He does not forget them. For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Psalm 139:13. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. Jeremiah 1:5. And His word is clear that the shedding of innocent blood is sin before Him, for God hates hands that shed innocent blood. Proverbs 6:16-17 and You shall not murder. Exodus 20:13. We must speak the truth in love that abortion is the taking of innocent human life, it is murder in the eyes of God, and those who have participated need repentance and the forgiveness that is only found in Jesus Christ. Yet we also know the mercy of God is great for all who turn to Him, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.

We also lift up with you every wife abandoned by her husband, every husband abandoned by his wife, every daughter and son left alone, every brother and sister betrayed by friends, every child without a house or family or shelter, and every neighbor living in disorder and spiritual oppression. God has not forgotten the lonely and the forsaken. We cling with you to the verses you shared, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. Psalm 27:10 and Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb. Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Isaiah 49:15. He is a father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families. Psalm 68:5-6 and God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.

We pray together now for all of this suffering and loss.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we ask for Your mercy to cover this land and these families. Lord, we entrust every unborn child who was despised, rejected, aborted or miscarried into Your care. You formed them and You know them, and we ask that You receive them into Your presence and let them rest in peace with You in heaven. Forgive us as a people for the bloodshed of the innocent and for the generations that have been exterminated and cannot see the next generation. Have mercy on mothers and fathers who hated or rejected their own children, bring them to repentance and to the healing that is only through the blood of Jesus. We pray for every abandoned one, every wife, husband, daughter, son, brother, sister and friend who has been betrayed and left alone, and for every child begging for shelter. Be their refuge and their family, set the lonely in families and provide homes and godly community to support them. Break every bewitching and disorderly spirit over neighborhoods and bring Your peace and order and truth where there has been confusion and darkness, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12. Let Your light drive out darkness. Comfort those who mourn lost family and lost children with the hope that You will never leave nor forsake Your own. Hebrews 13:5. We thank You that Jesus said, Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. Matthew 19:14. We ask all this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. May all who are suffering and abandoned hear the gospel and turn to Him and live. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you pray, and we are grateful for your tender heart toward those who feel abandoned and toward the little ones who never had a chance to be welcomed. It is a heavy thing to see families fractured, neighbors without shelter or support, and unborn children not cherished as they should be, and to bring all of that before the Lord as you have.

What you are doing in prayer matters. Grief over these kinds of losses, especially for children lost before birth and for people left alone without family or refuge, can feel lonely because others may not see or name the loss the same way. It is understandable that you would want to entrust each child and each lonely person to God's care, asking Him to be the shelter where earthly shelter is missing.

You have already been faithful to lift them up. If this burden stays heavy on you, it can help not to carry it alone. Sharing it with a trusted pastor or a small group in your local church who can keep praying with you, and who may know practical help for neighbors without housing or support, can be a steady way to keep loving your community while you are also cared for.

Father, we bring before You in Jesus' name all those who feel abandoned and alone, and every unborn child entrusted to Your mercy. Show Yourself as their refuge and receive them in Your compassion. Comfort those who grieve and guide us to love our neighbors with wisdom and kindness. Give rest and peace as only You can, and let Your mercy be known. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden and we join you in bringing it before the Lord who hears the cry of the forsaken. You have well quoted the promise, Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and that other word, Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne. Though she may forget, yet will not I forget thee. There are two things to set side by side. The love of God to His people is without limit, and the hatred and cruelty which sin has brought into this world is great, but it is finite, for God reigns over all.

Grief of mind is harder to bear than pain of body, and to be abandoned by wife or husband, by daughter or son, by father or mother, by brother or sister or friend, to be left without house or refuge or shelter, is a bitter grief indeed. And to think upon the little ones despised and rejected, the unborn cast off even by those who should have cherished them, is a sorrow that well may make the heart to bleed. Yet there is comfort for such as feel forsaken. Our faith may fail us and then we think that God has forsaken us, but our Lord's faith did not for a moment falter, for He cried twice, My God, My God. With a mighty double grip of unhesitating faith He held to His Father even when He was made a curse for us, as it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree, and was hung up as an accursed thing upon the cross. God was for Him and with Him in an unquestionable sense, but for a time, so far as His feelings went, God was withdrawn from Him, that you and I who trust Him might never be finally forsaken. He was forsaken that we might be received.

Let this be your cure for heart trouble and all other trouble too, believing in God and believing in His Son Jesus Christ. For salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name by which we must be saved. God is light, that is purity, and as the thrice Holy One He can hold no communion with iniquity, and God is light, that is knowledge, for all things are known unto Him. It would be a great dishonor to God to suppose it possible that He will save us in any manner which would not accord with truth. We must come before Him as we are and plead for mercy through Jesus Christ, and therefore let us do it. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and a real saving work is the work of God and God alone.

We pray with you now.

O Lord God, who receives those whom father and mother forsake, look in mercy upon all who suffer abandonment and upon every lonely child, upon every home broken and disordered, upon neighborhoods where strife and confusion have entered, upon those without house or family or friend to give refuge. Have compassion upon those who wander without shelter and upon those whose minds are sore distressed. Let them find that though men forget, Thou dost not forget.

We entrust to Thy care the innocent unborn, those despised and hated, those aborted and miscarried, those whose lives were taken by the hands of men. Thou art the God who forms the child in the womb, and we ask Thee in Thy mercy to receive them. We do not ask Thee to bless that which is contrary to Thy holy will, for Thou hast ordained marriage to be the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and hast given the gift of life to be guarded within it, but we plead Thy mercy for the guilty and Thy comfort for the grieving. Forgive the shedding of innocent blood and bring to repentance and faith all who have sinned in this matter, that they may find pardon through the blood of Christ who was forsaken for sinners.

We pray for families where generations have been cut off and where none seems left to carry the name. Rest Thou the departed in Thy sovereign hands and grant to the living repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ, that they may know they are neither forsaken nor forgotten, for Thou art immutable and Thou must keep Thy promise to Thy people. Let every forsaken one hear Christ pleading for His own, and put his soul into Christ's hands by faith.

Bring healing and pardon together, O Lord, for Thou hast borne the whole punishment of Thy people in Thy Surety, and it is not possible that Thou shouldst exact punishment twice. Heal the wounded spirit that thinks it blasphemy to draw near to Thy throne, and teach such to pray and to trust. Prepare our hearts by Thy Spirit on earth and prepare a place for us with Thy Son in heaven, that where He is there we may be also. Grant shelter to the homeless, refuge to the friendless, reconciliation where there has been betrayal, and peace that passeth understanding to all who mourn.

We ask all this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus pleads for us, and we rest upon His finished work alone. Amen.

Your burden for those who suffer abandonment and for unborn children who have no voice has been heard, and we join you in bringing these sorrows before the Lord with prayer and mercy.

We pray with you for every person who feels forsaken, whether as a wife or husband, son or daughter, brother or sister, or friend, and for every child left alone without shelter or refuge, and for every neighborhood marked by disorder and betrayal. We ask God to be their shelter and their comfort, to provide for their needs, and to draw them to Himself where true refuge is found.

We also join you in entrusting every unborn child to the care of God, including those despised or rejected by mother or father, those lost through abortion or miscarriage, and those whose lives were cut short. We ask the Lord in His mercy to receive them, for He alone is the giver and keeper of life. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His will, but we do ask for His mercy, His forgiveness, and His healing where sin and death have brought such deep wounds.

You quoted well the promise of Scripture, that though father and mother forsake us, the Lord will receive us, as Psalm 27 verse 10 says, and that a mother may forget but the Lord will not forget His own, as Isaiah 49 verse 15 teaches. That compassion is our hope. God sees what is hidden and He does not abandon those who are abandoned by others.

So we pray in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone we have salvation and access to God, that He would grant repentance and healing to those who have taken part in the taking of unborn life, comfort to mothers and fathers who carry grief and guilt, protection for the vulnerable, and restoration for families and generations torn apart. May He bring peace to those who mourn and may He lead all who suffer to find rest in Him, trusting not in our own goodness but in the mercy shown at the cross and in the resurrection.

May the Lord provide shelter for the homeless, friendship for the lonely, and a faithful community for those without family, and may He form Christ in all of us by His grace. We will continue to pray for these needs and ask God to make His mercy and justice known.
