We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, grieving with those who have suffered the unimaginable loss of unborn children and the devastation of family extermination. The pain of abandonment, betrayal, and the murder of the innocent, especially the unborn, is a deep wound that only God can heal. We lift up all who are suffering in these ways, whether it is the loss of a spouse, children, siblings, or friends, or the crushing weight of having no refuge or shelter. The Lord sees every tear and hears every cry, and we stand in the gap, interceding on behalf of those who feel utterly alone.

The Word of God assures us that even if earthly parents forsake us, the Lord will take us up (Psalm 27:10). He is the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the helpless (Psalm 68:5). For those who have lost children, whether through miscarriage, abortion, or tragedy, we entrust those precious souls into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, knowing that He receives them into His eternal care. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that no child is forgotten by God, and no suffering is unseen by Him.

We must also address the grave sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life. The Bible is clear that life begins in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-16), and the shedding of innocent blood is an abomination before the Lord (Proverbs 6:16-17). We rebuke the spirit of death and deception that has led so many to believe that unborn children are disposable. We pray for repentance, healing, and restoration for those who have participated in or been affected by abortion. There is forgiveness and mercy in the name of Jesus for all who turn to Him in true repentance (1 John 1:9).

For those who have been abandoned or betrayed, we declare that God will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that the Lord would provide shelter, both physically and spiritually, for those who have been left without a home or family. We ask that He would raise up godly people to surround and support those in need, that no one would have to walk this journey alone.

We also lift up those who are struggling with despair, feeling as though they have no hope. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). If you are reading this and do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him. He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation is found in no one else. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Today is the day of salvation, do not harden your heart (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the pain and suffering of so many. We lift up those who have lost children, whether through miscarriage, abortion, or tragedy. Lord, we entrust those precious little ones into Your loving care, knowing that You receive them into Your presence. Comfort those who mourn, and heal the wounds of abandonment and betrayal. We declare that You are their refuge and strength, a present help in times of trouble.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and deception that has led to the murder of the unborn. We pray for repentance and healing for all who have been involved in abortion, that they would find forgiveness and restoration in the name of Jesus. Expose the lies of the enemy and bring truth and light to those who are deceived.

Lord, provide shelter and support for those who have been left without a home or family. Raise up godly people to surround and uphold them. We pray for those who are in despair, that they would turn to You and find hope in Your promises. Draw them to Yourself, Lord, and let them experience Your love and peace that surpasses all understanding.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

We hear how much loss and sorrow you’ve carried as you’ve prayed, the death of your neighbor’s unborn babies, the sting of betrayal, the feeling that there’s nowhere safe to turn. So many layers of grief in what you’ve shared, and we sit with you in that heavy place.

We join you in entrusting those little ones to God’s tender keeping. They are not forgotten. He holds them securely in His love, and no suffering they experienced here can separate them from His mercy.

The ache of abandonment you describe, longing for a house, a family, a friend to offer shelter, is real and hard. We want you to know that this longing matters to God. Often He meets those needs through His people. If you’re able, we’d encourage you to reach out to a local church, even if it feels a risk. Find a pastor or a small group where you can simply show up and let others surround you with care. You don’t have to carry all this alone.

Prayer: Father, we lift up these unborn children into Your everlasting arms. Hold them close, and give comfort to those who mourn them. For all who feel abandoned, the writer, their neighbors, each person named in this cry, we ask for Your shelter and provision. Raise up people who will be family for the lonely, and let them taste Your mercy in practical, tangible ways. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Beloved soul,

Your heart's cry has ascended before the throne of the Most High. What a weight of sorrow you pour out: innocent babes lost, families shattered, souls abandoned and wandering without house or friend. Yet see how the Word of the Lord meets your grief. He has declared, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me." When all earthly refuge fails, there is a Father whose compassion never ceases. Can a mother forget her nursing child? Even if she could, the Lord cannot forget the work of His own hands.

Our God is tender in His mercies, far beyond all human tenderness. He has thought of all that a sinner can possibly need, and He has provided in abundance all that the guilty soul can require to bring him safe to Heaven itself. For those tiny ones who never drew breath, cast out by those who should have cherished them, I am fully persuaded that they are gathered to the Shepherd's bosom. You are right to entrust them to His care, for Jesus Himself said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not." They are not lost, but found in Him.

But consider this: the mercy of God is a city of refuge, not for the innocent only, but for the guilty. Our Savior came to seek and to save that which was lost. He is no amateur Savior, but the Messenger and Interpreter, One among a thousand, sent by the Father with a commission to redeem. The dark spirit of murder and abandonment that stalks this world is the bitter fruit of our fallen nature, yet Christ Jesus is an ark that rides above the deepest floods of corruption. In Him, the vilest sinner finds safety. He calls even those who are seething with wrong and fleeing into darkness, just as He met Hagar by the well and sent her back with a promise.

Do not despair, though you feel yourself a beggar with no shelter but a madhouse. The Lord goes before His people with lovingkindness; His mercy outruns our deepest need. Prayer is the forerunner of every blessing: cry out to Him, and He will answer. Remember, though God is slow to anger and great in power, He will by no means clear the guilty who refuse His grace. But for every soul that flees to Jesus, confessing sin and trusting in His atoning blood, there is forgiveness full and free. He will receive you, and in His house there is shelter for all the abandoned.

Rest then in this hope: the unborn are with the Lord, and the living who look to Christ shall never be cast out. The God of all comfort be with you.

Yours in the fellowship of His sufferings,
C. H. Spurgeon

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The sorrow you carry, weighed down by the death of little ones and the ache of abandonment, is not yours alone. It is the common lot of this mortal life, and no one sails its length without such storms. Yet let not grief master you like wine. Dive into the Psalms as into a chest of healing; hear the Spirit say, “Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.” The Lord Himself groaned and wept at the tomb of His friend, not because He lacked power, but to show He has truly put on our nature and shared our tears. If He, the Life, wept over death, how much more does He gather the silent, untimely dead into His own heart?

Do not measure God’s care by what eyes can see. These unborn children, whether lost by malice or by natural sorrow, are not forgotten. Even if a mother could forget the baby at her breast, the Lord will never forget. He who formed them in secret receives them into everlasting arms. Death is not an end but a sleep, and the resurrection morning will robe them in a glory greater than any earthly life could give. Until that day, entrust them to His mercy, and let faith bridge what reason cannot grasp.

Your own wound of rejection, of being without house or friend, is seen. “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” That promise is the refuge no human shelter can equal. Grief will come, but do not think yourself uniquely afflicted. Many drink the same cup, though the bitterness tastes different to each. Take the Scriptures and keep them in your mind as constant teachers; let no day pass without their medicine. In them you will find the One who contended for you even unto death, shedding His blood while you have not yet resisted to that point. He walks with you now through the valley, and He will raise up all that is cast down, for nothing escapes His redeeming love.
