We lift up this heavy and heart-wrenching cry before the throne of grace, where the Father of mercies hears the groans of the brokenhearted. The pain of abandonment, the loss of unborn children, and the devastation of families torn apart by death, betrayal, or the sin of abortion weighs heavily upon us all. We come before You, Lord, not as those who have it all together, but as fellow beggars in need of Your shelter, Your mercy, and Your healing touch.
Father, we mourn with those who mourn the loss of these precious unborn babies, lives snuffed out before they could draw their first breath. We declare with boldness that You are the Author of life, and every child is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image (Psalm 139:13-16). We entrust these little ones into Your loving arms, believing that You receive them into heaven, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more death (Revelation 21:4). For those who have participated in abortion, whether through coercion, fear, or sin, we pray for Your forgiveness and healing. Your Word declares that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). May they find peace in Your mercy and turn from this grievous sin.
We also lift up those who have been abandoned, wives left by husbands, husbands abandoned by wives, children forsaken by their parents, and friends betrayed by those they trusted. The pain of abandonment cuts deep, but Your Word promises that even if earthly parents forsake us, You will never leave us nor forsake us (Psalm 27:10). You are a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We pray that You would be a shelter for those who have no home, a family for those who have none, and a friend for those who feel utterly alone. Bind up their wounds, Lord, and restore what has been broken.
For those who feel as though they are living in a "madhouse" of chaos, fear, or despair, we ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). You are not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). Where there is instability, bring Your order. Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love (1 John 4:18). Where there is hopelessness, remind them that You are the God of all hope (Romans 15:13).
We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that seeks to destroy families and lives. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand in the authority of Jesus Christ, who came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). We command every spirit of despair, loneliness, and fear to flee in the name of Jesus. You, Lord, are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We also address the issue of salvation, for it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we urge them to turn to Him now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Heavenly Father, we pray for those who have lost loved ones, whether through death, betrayal, or the sin of abortion. Comfort them with Your presence, Lord. Remind them that You collect every tear in Your bottle and record every sorrow in Your book (Psalm 56:8). You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Pour out Your healing balm upon their wounds, and let them experience the depth of Your love, which surpasses all understanding.
For those who feel they have no one to turn to, we declare that You are their ever-present help. You see their struggles, You hear their cries, and You will not abandon them. Your Word says that even if a mother could forget her nursing child, You will never forget Your children (Isaiah 49:15). You are their shelter in the storm, their refuge in times of trouble, and their hope for the future.
We pray for families to be restored, for marriages to be healed, and for relationships to be reconciled according to Your will. Where there has been sin, bring repentance and forgiveness. Where there has been brokenness, bring restoration. Where there has been death, bring life. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name that brings salvation, healing, and deliverance.
Lord, we trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness. Even in the midst of this pain, we declare that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen the weary, lift up the downtrodden, and fill the empty places with Your love. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus' precious and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
