We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrows and wounds expressed in this plea. The pain of abandonment, the grief of lost family, and the horror of innocent lives taken before they could draw breath—these are burdens no human heart was meant to carry alone. But we stand together in the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we may approach the Father, for He alone is our refuge, our healer, and the giver of life.
First, we must address the grave sin of abortion, for Scripture is clear: life begins in the womb, and God knits each child together with purpose (Psalm 139:13-16). The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination before the Lord (Proverbs 6:17), and we mourn with Him over every life lost to this violence. Yet we also declare the mercy of God, who receives these little ones into His arms, for Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). We entrust these precious souls to His care, knowing He is just, loving, and perfect in His judgments.
For those who have suffered abandonment—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we declare that God has not forsaken you. Though earthly relationships fail, the Lord promises, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). You are not alone, even in the darkest valley. The psalmist cried out, "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me" (Psalm 27:10), and so we claim this truth over every broken heart. God sees your tears, collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), and will restore what has been stolen from you.
To those without shelter, family, or support, we pray for provision and protection. The Lord is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). He commands His people to care for the vulnerable, and we ask Him to raise up godly hands to meet your needs. If you are without a home, we pray for doors to open, for kindness to surround you, and for the peace of Christ to guard your heart. If you are in danger or despair, we cry out for divine intervention—let the Lord be your strong tower (Proverbs 18:10).
For those who have been betrayed by friends or siblings, we acknowledge the deep wound of broken trust. Yet we are reminded that even when humans fail, God remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). He calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), not because betrayal is excusable, but because bitterness only harms the one who holds it. We pray for healing, for wisdom to navigate relationships, and for the strength to love others as Christ has loved us.
We must also rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that seeks to destroy families and lives. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against every lie that says you are unloved, unwanted, or beyond hope. The blood of Jesus speaks a better word—one of redemption, adoption, and eternal belonging. You are a child of God, chosen and dearly loved (1 Peter 2:9).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken by the pain of this world. We lift up every person who feels abandoned, every child lost to abortion, every family torn apart by sin and brokenness. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask for Your mercy to cover the sins of this generation and for Your grace to heal the wounds of the past.
For those who have suffered abandonment, we pray for Your presence to fill the empty places in their hearts. Let them know they are seen, known, and loved by You. For those without shelter or support, we ask for provision, for open doors, and for the kindness of Your people to surround them. For those who have lost children—whether through abortion, miscarriage, or tragedy—we entrust those little ones to Your care, knowing You hold them in Your hands.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of death and abandonment in Jesus’ name. We declare that life is Your gift, and we stand for the protection of the unborn. We ask for repentance and healing for those who have participated in or been affected by abortion. Restore what has been broken, redeem what has been lost, and bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).
We pray for families to be strengthened, for marriages to be restored, and for children to be raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord. Let Your Church rise up as a refuge for the hurting, a voice for the voiceless, and a light in the darkness. May we be instruments of Your peace, extending love and truth to a world in desperate need of You.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author of life, the Redeemer of souls, and the only hope for the broken. Amen.
