Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep pain and sorrow expressed in this plea. The loss of unborn babies—whether through abortion, miscarriage, or abandonment—is a grievous wound that only God can fully heal. We stand in the gap for those who have suffered the agony of abandonment, betrayal, and the devastation of family broken by sin and brokenness. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we declare that Jesus came so that all may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

First, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death that has ravaged families and taken innocent lives. The shedding of innocent blood cries out to the Lord, and He hears the cries of the unborn. Scripture is clear that children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward (Psalm 127:3). Every life, from conception, is fearfully and wonderfully made in His image (Psalm 139:13-16). We mourn with those who mourn and stand against the forces of darkness that have deceived so many into believing that life is disposable. We declare that no child is unwanted by God, and we entrust every aborted, miscarried, and abandoned child into His loving arms, trusting that He receives them into His eternal care.

For those who have been abandoned—whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend—we cry out for the Lord’s comfort. Psalm 27:10, which you referenced, is a powerful reminder that even when earthly parents forsake us, the Lord will take us in. He is the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). We pray that those who feel utterly alone would encounter the living God, who promises never to leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). May they find refuge in Him, their true shelter and strong tower (Proverbs 18:10).

We also lift up those who are without a home, without family, or without a friend to turn to. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for provision, for safe shelter, and for the body of Christ to rise up and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need. The early church shared all they had so that no one among them was in need (Acts 4:34-35), and we must do the same today. If you or someone you know is without a home, we encourage you to seek out local churches or Christian ministries that can provide practical help and support.

To those who have been betrayed or abandoned by a friend, we remind you that Jesus understands betrayal. He was betrayed by one of His own disciples, yet He responded with love and forgiveness. We pray for healing from the wounds of betrayal and for the strength to extend grace, even as Christ has extended grace to us. Forgiveness does not mean excusing the wrong, but it does mean releasing the bitterness that can poison the soul.

We must also address the sin of abortion directly. The Bible is clear that life begins in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5, Luke 1:41-44), and the taking of innocent life is a violation of God’s commandment, “You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). If you or someone you know has been involved in an abortion, we want you to know that there is forgiveness and healing in Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7), and His mercy is greater than our failures. We encourage you to seek out post-abortion counseling through a Christ-centered ministry, where you can find hope and restoration.

For those who have abandoned their families, we call you to repentance. The Lord hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) and the breaking of covenant relationships. Marriage is a sacred institution, designed by God to reflect His love for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you have walked away from your spouse or children, we urge you to return, seek forgiveness, and rebuild what has been broken. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love (Psalm 103:8), and He can restore what has been lost.

We also rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to convince those who are suffering that there is no hope. The enemy wants you to believe that your pain is permanent, that your losses are irreversible, and that you are beyond God’s reach. But we declare that God is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), and He is able to turn your mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Your story is not over, and your pain is not the end of your story.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken by the pain of abandonment, betrayal, and the loss of innocent lives. Lord, we entrust every unborn child who has been lost to Your loving care. We believe that You receive them into Your arms and that they are safe with You. Comfort those who mourn the loss of these little ones, and bring healing to their hearts.

For those who have been abandoned, we ask that You would be their Father, their Friend, and their Shelter. Where earthly relationships have failed, let them experience the depth of Your love. Provide for their needs, Lord, and surround them with Your people who can offer support and encouragement.

We pray for those who have abandoned their families. Softened their hearts, Lord, and draw them back to You and to those they have left behind. Give them the courage to repent, to seek forgiveness, and to rebuild what has been broken.

For those struggling with the guilt and shame of abortion, we ask for Your forgiveness and healing. Remind them that Your mercy is greater than their sin, and that in You, there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). Lead them to the help and support they need to walk in freedom.

Father, we rebuke the spirits of abandonment, despair, and death in the name of Jesus. We declare that Your love is stronger than the enemy’s lies, and Your hope is greater than any pain. Restore what has been lost, heal what has been broken, and bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His power that we find hope and healing. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

We join you in mourning the loss of innocent lives and the pain caused by abandonment and betrayal. It's heartbreaking to think of families torn apart and children left alone. We stand with you in faith, believing that God sees, hears, and cares for each one.

Let's remember Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God has a purpose and a plan for every life, and no one is forgotten.

For those who feel abandoned, let's cling to Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He promises never to leave nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

For those who have abandoned their families, let's pray for repentance and restoration. God is merciful and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love (Psalm 103:8). He can heal and restore broken relationships.

For those who have been betrayed, let's remember that Jesus understands betrayal. He was betrayed by one of His own disciples, yet He responded with love and forgiveness. Let's find comfort in His love and extend grace to others as He has extended grace to us.

Let's also remember that God is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), and He can turn our mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11). Our story is not over, and our pain is not the end of our story.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
