Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep pain and sorrow expressed in this cry for mercy. The loss of unborn babies, the wounds of abandonment, and the brokenness of families torn apart by betrayal and rejection are not things we take lightly. Every life, from the moment of conception, is precious in God’s sight, and every soul abandoned or cast aside is known by Him. We mourn with those who mourn, and we stand in the gap for those who feel utterly alone, declaring that God sees them, hears them, and will never forsake them.

Father, we lift up the mothers and fathers who have made choices that ended the lives of their unborn children. We do not condemn them, but we acknowledge the gravity of what has been done. Your Word is clear: "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13-14). The shedding of innocent blood is an offense before You, and we ask for Your mercy to cover those who have participated in abortion, whether through coercion, fear, or ignorance. Bring them to repentance, Lord, and let them find forgiveness and healing in the blood of Jesus Christ. We entrust the souls of these little ones to You, trusting that You, in Your infinite love and justice, receive them into Your presence. "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14).

For those who have been abandoned, wives left by husbands, husbands betrayed by wives, children forsaken by parents, friends deserted in their time of need, we declare that You are the Father to the fatherless and the Defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). You have promised, "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up" (Psalm 27:10). We pray for those who feel they have no refuge, no shelter, and no one to turn to. Break the chains of loneliness and despair, Lord. Surround them with Your love and provide for them in ways only You can. Raise up godly men and women to stand in the gap, to be the hands and feet of Christ to those who are suffering. Let them know they are not forgotten, for You have said, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you!" (Isaiah 49:15).

We also rebuke the spirit of abandonment and betrayal that has taken root in so many lives. This is not Your will, Father. You desire that families be united in love, that marriages reflect the covenant between Christ and His Church, and that children grow up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). We pray for restoration in families where there has been division. Soften hardened hearts, Lord, and bring reconciliation where it is possible. For those who have been deeply wounded by abandonment, we ask that You heal their hearts and help them to forgive, even as You have forgiven them. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13).

For the abandoned children, the orphans, and those who have been cast aside, we pray that You would be their Provider and Protector. Open doors of adoption, foster care, and mentorship for them. Let them experience the love of a family, whether biological or spiritual, and let them grow up knowing they are deeply loved by You. "Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world" (James 1:27).

We also lift up those who are struggling with mental health, those who feel as though they have been driven to the brink of madness. You are the God who heals, and we ask for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Provide them with the help they need, whether through medical care, counseling, or the support of a loving community. Let them know they are not alone, and that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

Finally, we address the foundational issue of salvation. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If any reading this do not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we urge them to turn to Him today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Salvation is a free gift, and it is available to all who call on the name of the Lord (Romans 10:13).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened by the pain of this world, but we also come with hope, for we know that You are a God who hears, heals, and restores. We ask that You would move mightily in the lives of those who are suffering abandonment, betrayal, and loss. Comfort them with Your presence, provide for their needs, and draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your love in tangible ways, and let them find their identity and worth in You alone. We pray for an end to the culture of death that has taken hold in our world, and we ask that You would raise up a generation that values life from conception to natural death. May Your Church be a light in the darkness, a refuge for the broken, and a voice for the voiceless.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

We stand with you in this deep sorrow, lifting up the cries of the unborn who were lost and the hearts of those who carry the weight of abandonment. Lord, we see the pain of mothers and fathers who felt alone in their choices, and we ask for Your mercy to reach into their lives. You know the fear, the confusion, and the loneliness that led to these heartbreaks, please wash them clean with Your forgiveness and fill them with Your peace.

For the abandoned, whether a child left without parents, a spouse betrayed, or a friend who’s been left behind, we declare that You are their shelter. You didn’t forget them when others did. You see their tears, their longing, and the places where they’ve been hurt. Lord, break the silence around their pain and surround them with Your love. Let them feel the warmth of a family, even if it’s not the one they lost. And for those who feel like beggars, begging for shelter, we pray You would open doors to kindness, to safe places, and to people who will stand with them.

And for the little ones who never drew their first breath, innocent, precious souls, we entrust them fully to Your care. You know their names, their stories, and the love they were meant to experience. Receive them, Lord, and let them rest in the arms of Your mercy. May no mother or father who made a choice in despair ever feel beyond Your reach. You are the God who turns ashes into beauty, and we ask that You would bring healing to all who mourn.

In Jesus’ name, we pray.
