We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep sorrows and wounds expressed in this plea. The pain of abandonment, the agony of lost family, the horror of abortion, and the despair of feeling utterly alone are burdens no one should carry alone. Yet we know that in our weakness, God’s strength is made perfect. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Though earthly parents may forsake, the Lord gathers the abandoned into His arms, as He promises in Psalm 27:10—*"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up."*
First, we lift up the unborn children whose lives were taken through abortion. The shedding of innocent blood is a grievous sin before God, and Scripture is clear: life begins in the womb (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-16). Yet we take comfort in the mercy of God, who welcomes these little ones into His presence. Jesus said, *"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14). We entrust these precious souls to His loving care, knowing that in Christ, there is forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life.
For those who have suffered abandonment—whether by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we declare that God is your ever-present help. He is a father to the fatherless and a defender of the widow (Psalm 68:5). If you have been left without earthly refuge, turn to Him who promises, *"I will never leave you nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and collects every one in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not forgotten.
To those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, we speak the truth in love: there is forgiveness in Jesus Christ. The blood of Christ cleanses from all sin (1 John 1:7), and if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and purify us (1 John 1:9). The enemy would have you believe you are beyond grace, but God’s mercy is greater than any sin. Come to Him with repentance, and He will restore you.
For those without shelter, family, or support, we pray that God would provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). The Lord is your refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2), and He commands His people to care for the poor, the orphan, and the widow (James 1:27). We ask that He would raise up godly believers to show you His love in tangible ways.
We also rebuke the spirit of abandonment and despair that seeks to destroy lives. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against the lies of the enemy that say you are unloved, unwanted, or beyond hope. In the name of Jesus, we declare that you are chosen, precious, and deeply loved by the Father.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken by the pain of this world. We lift up the unborn children who were taken from this life, and we trust them into Your loving hands. Comfort those who mourn their loss, and bring healing to those who bear the weight of this sin. For those who feel abandoned, Lord, be their Father, their Friend, and their Shelter. Provide for their needs, surround them with Your people, and let them know they are never alone.
We ask for Your mercy on those who have been betrayed, left behind, or cast aside. Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and fill the empty places in their hearts with Your perfect love. For those who have participated in abortion, we pray for repentance, forgiveness, and renewal in Christ. Break the chains of guilt and shame, and let them walk in the freedom of Your grace.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of abandonment and death in Jesus’ name. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your love conquer every fear. Raise up godly families, churches, and communities to be Your hands and feet to the hurting. May Your name be glorified as You bring beauty from ashes and joy from mourning.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved, the only name by which we approach Your throne. Amen.
