We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the deep pain of abandonment, the tragedy of abortion, and the loss of precious unborn lives. The cry for mercy in this request is raw and real, and we stand in the gap, interceding with the compassion of Christ. The Lord sees every child lost to abortion, every soul abandoned, and every heart broken by betrayal. He is close to the brokenhearted, and His love is a refuge for those who have nowhere else to turn.
First, we must address the holiness of life. Scripture is clear that every human being, born or unborn, is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:13-16). The deliberate ending of an unborn child’s life is a grievous sin, a violation of God’s commandment, "You shall not murder" (Exodus 20:13). We mourn with those who have participated in or been affected by abortion, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to bring life and healing. For those who have experienced abortion, we declare that there is forgiveness and restoration in Christ. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The blood of Jesus covers all sin, and no one is beyond His mercy.
To those who feel abandoned—by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we speak the truth of Psalm 27:10 over you: "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, Yahweh will take me up." God is your Father, your Shelter, and your Ever-Present Help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). The pain of abandonment is real, but it does not have the final word. The Lord is gathering the lonely into families (Psalm 68:6) and binding up the brokenhearted (Isaiah 61:1). If you are without a home, a family, or a friend, we pray that God would provide for you in miraculous ways—whether through the kindness of His people, the opening of doors, or the supernatural provision only He can give.
For the unborn babies whose lives were taken, we entrust them to the arms of Jesus. Though the world may have rejected them, God receives them into His presence. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14). We believe that these little ones are safe with Him, and we pray for justice against the forces of darkness that seek to destroy life. We rebuke the spirit of death and declare that the blood of Jesus speaks a better word—life, redemption, and hope.
For those who have abandoned others, we call you to repentance. The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in loving kindness (Psalm 103:8), but He also calls us to account for our actions. If you have walked away from your spouse, your children, or your responsibilities, we urge you to return. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). There is no sin too great for the grace of God, but repentance is the path to restoration.
We also lift up those who are suffering in silence—those trapped in abusive situations, those who feel like they are in a "madhouse" of chaos, and those who have been betrayed by friends. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is your Refuge and Strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that He would break every chain of oppression, expose every hidden darkness, and bring you into the light of His love.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the pain of abandonment, the tragedy of abortion, and the loss of life. We thank You that You are a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of the afflicted. We ask for Your mercy to cover every unborn child whose life was taken, and we trust that You receive them into Your arms. For those who have participated in abortion, we pray for Your forgiveness and healing. Break the chains of guilt and shame, and let them experience the freedom that comes from Your grace.
Lord, for those who feel abandoned—by parents, spouses, children, or friends—we ask that You would be their Father, their Shelter, and their Provider. Bind up their broken hearts and restore what has been lost. Provide for their needs, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and surround them with Your love. For those who have abandoned others, we pray for repentance and restoration. Soften their hearts and draw them back to You and to those they have left behind.
We rebuke the spirit of death and declare life over every situation. We speak healing over broken families, provision for the homeless, and comfort for the grieving. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved. Amen.
To those reading this, if you have never surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose again so that you could have eternal life. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We encourage you to pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart today. He is waiting with open arms.
