Neighbor’s tragedies earthquake ### extermination family

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the families in Venezuela who are enduring such immense suffering after the earthquake. The loss of homes, loved ones, and all they held dear is a burden no one should have to bear alone. Yet we know that even in the darkest valleys, God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare that He is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we ask You to wrap Your arms of comfort around these precious families. Where there is grief, bring Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Where there is despair, let them feel Your hope rising within them. Provide for their every need, shelter, food, clothing, and the strength to face each new day. We pray for miraculous provision, that You would open doors of help and generosity from those who can assist. You are the God who sees (Genesis 16:13), and we trust You to meet them in their time of need.

Lord, we also pray for salvation among those who do not yet know You. May this tragedy soften hearts to receive the truth of the Gospel, that Jesus Christ came to save sinners and offer eternal life to all who believe in Him (John 3:16). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We ask that many would turn to You, finding in You the love and security they have lost in this life.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and hopelessness that seeks to take root in their hearts. Instead, let them cling to Your promises: that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5), that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28), and that one day, You will wipe away every tear from their eyes (Revelation 21:4). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your presence in tangible ways.

We also pray for the local churches and believers in Venezuela. Equip them to be Your hands and feet, showing Christ’s love through practical help and the sharing of the Gospel. May they be a light in this darkness, pointing the way to You.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we stand in the gap for these families, believing that You are at work even now. May Your name be glorified in their lives, and may they rise from this tragedy with a testimony of Your faithfulness. Amen.

We're holding this request with you, and our hearts ache for your neighbors in Venezuela. Losing so much at once, homes, belongings, and the people they love, is a profound shock. When devastation comes through a natural disaster, there's a particular weight to it. An earthquake doesn't just take things; it shakes the ground that was supposed to be stable. Grief experts have noted that suffering a loss due to a natural disaster is one of the things that makes the pain cut deeper and the road forward feel more complicated. We mention this not to discourage, but because naming that reality can sometimes help it feel a little less isolating. The confusion and numbness they feel are not a sign of weak faith; they are the honest response of people who have been terribly wounded.

We're praying that God would surround them with tangible help: neighbors and aid workers who can meet immediate needs, a safe place to gather, and people nearby who will simply sit with them in their sorrow without trying to rush them through it. We ask the Lord to provide what they need for each day, food, water, someone to listen. And for the long ache of missing loved ones, we ask for moments of unexpected comfort and the quiet courage to face one hour at a time.

Lord Jesus, in your mercy, draw near to these grieving families in Venezuela. Weep with them over what they have lost. Stir up the church and the community to be your hands and feet, providing shelter and steady companionship. Hold them steady through the aftershocks of fear and grief, and in time, plant the smallest seeds of hope where now there is only rubble and tears. Amen.

Suppose we should witness an earthquake, a tempest, a famine, pestilence, a war, none of these would separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord! We will not fear, though the earth is removed. You must not be buried in despair. Hope on, hope always.

When God has distinct and definite purposes of mercy towards an individual, He often begins with stern discipline and brings him low by affliction and sorrow. It may be that this is the night when God's mighty mercy is ordained to meet with you, the very evening in which the Lord shall call out your name and you shall feel that He knows you, your case, your circumstances and that He has come to call you to Himself. All God's mercy to a sinner is Gratis. He never sells, He always gives.

A soundly hopeful soul feels its need of mercy... you must be clean divorced from every confidence except in mercy! We were not ready for Christ, but Christ came to us... when we have begun to pray for a mercy, we have had the mercy while we have yet been calling.

When the gates of society are shut, the gates of Mercy are not shut. But when there is a sacrifice, God looks on sin with eyes of mercy... I have punished My dear Son, and will spare the sinner. Oh, that you would, by faith, take Jesus to be your refuge and your strength!

Depths of mercy! ... Can there be Mercy still reserved for me? ...

Shall mercy be preached to you in vain forever?

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Many have their several griefs at home, and we share in each other’s sorrows, though not in their sources. One is unhappy on account of loss, another of bereavement, another of ruin; and so we find no one free from trouble, but some have greater sorrows and some less. Let us therefore not be distressed at the evils that happen, nor think ourselves only to be unhappy. This is sobriety of mind: “In the season of temptation, make not haste.”

Yet even in such darkness, the mercy of God shines forth. He chose to pardon the chief of sinners so that no one thereafter might despair of finding mercy. If God could show all longsuffering to one who deserved none, there can be no doubt of His readiness to help those who suffer and call upon Him. Let none doubt of salvation or of His provision. And let us begin first ourselves to be merciful, for nothing is so characteristic of a Christian. When we see our neighbors stripped of everything, do not merely pray but also act with a merciful soul. God in His mercy often gives not only deliverance from evils but many good things besides.

Tarry not for another to teach you comfort; you have the oracles of God. If grief befall, dive into the Scriptures as into a chest of medicines. Take comfort from the Gospels and Apostolic Epistles. Keep them in your mind, and there learn that God desires mercy and not sacrifice. Make provision for the flesh only for health, not for wantonness or despair. The present life is a sleep, and its dreams soon fly; but the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting. So trust not in possessions that perish, but in the God who raises the dead. Let us earnestly emulate the mercy by which we ourselves have been saved, and so shall we find mercy for our neighbors and ourselves.

The suffering your neighbors in Venezuela are enduring is truly heartbreaking. To lose homes, loved ones, and everything in a moment through such tragedy leaves a grief too deep for words. In times like these, it can feel as if mercy itself has vanished from the earth. Yet the truth we cling to is that God’s mercy endures forever. It is not a fleeting sentiment but the very character of the Lord, who is full of compassion and slow to anger.

Remember, mercy is never something we can demand or deserve. It rises from God’s sovereign will alone. He says, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.” When all around seems lost, that is actually good news, because it means His mercy does not depend on our worthiness but on His own unchanging nature. He delights to show mercy, almost as if He looks for the smallest reason to pour it out. A cry of the heart, a whisper of dependence, even a groan, these are the things that move His hand.

So pray boldly for those neighbors. Ask the God of all comfort to provide for them, to shelter the homeless, to heal the broken, and to draw near to the dying. His mercy is as high as the heavens above the earth. It can cover every ruin, every tear. And when guilt whispers that we are too small or our sins too great to be heard, remember where mercy and truth meet: in Jesus Christ. At the cross, perfect justice and boundless mercy kissed. Because Jesus took the penalty for sin, God can be both righteous and the one who forgives. That means even in the rubble of an earthquake, there is a path to peace with God.

Do not despair as if God’s mercy has run out. It has not. This tragedy is a severe mercy itself, a wake-up call that nothing in this world is unshakable. The day is coming when the earth will be shaken once more, and only what is anchored in Christ will remain. Until then, we intercede. We cry out for provision, for comfort, for the living hope that only the gospel brings. And we trust that the Lord, whose mercy built the stars and stretches out the heavens, will hear and answer in ways that display His enduring love.

We are deeply moved by the heartbreaking circumstances your neighbors in Venezuela are facing, and we thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this time of immense suffering. Our hearts have been heavy as we have lifted up these families before the Lord, asking Him to wrap them in His comfort, provision, and mercy amid such overwhelming loss. We have prayed for His presence to be tangible in their grief, for strength to endure each day, and for hope to rise even in the midst of devastation.

If God has already moved in miraculous ways—whether through unexpected provision, healing, or the kindness of others—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Your testimony could be a light to others walking through similar trials. If, however, the situation remains unchanged or even grows more difficult, we want you to know we are still here, ready to intercede anew. Please share again how we can pray specifically, so we may continue to lift these dear ones before the throne of grace.

May the Lord bless you for your compassion and faithfulness in bringing this burden to Him. We trust that even now, He is working in ways we cannot see, and we ask Him to draw near to these families, to restore what has been broken, and to reveal His love in the darkest places. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
