We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up the people of country who have endured the devastation of this earthquake. The loss of homes, family members, and providers has left deep wounds, and we ask for Your mercy to cover them in this time of unimaginable suffering. Father, You are the God of all comfort, and we trust in Your promise that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we pray for the families who have lost loved ones, bring them Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Provide for their physical needs, shelter for the homeless, food for the hungry, and restoration for the grieving. We ask that You would raise up helpers, both locally and internationally, to bring aid and hope to those in despair. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and may they see Your hand at work even in this tragedy.
We also pray for the salvation of those who do not yet know You. In the midst of suffering, reveal Yourself as their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). May they turn to You, the only true source of hope, and find eternal comfort in Christ Jesus. For it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that seeks to overwhelm them. We declare that You are the God who heals the broken and rebuilds what has been destroyed. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your love in tangible ways. We trust in Your goodness, even when we cannot see the full picture.

The earthquake has shaken the ground, but it has not shaken the throne of grace. Let this disaster drive the church to her knees, for prayer is the forerunner of mercy. Before God sends large deliverance, He teaches His people to cry mightily. Ask Him to supply the temporal needs of the suffering: food, shelter, medicine, help for every damage. Ask Him to be a husband to the widow, a father to the fatherless, and a provider to the destitute. He is able to turn the attention of governments and the hands of strangers toward that broken country.
But do not stop with bread and rebuilding. The deeper ruin is a soul without Christ. Houses are lost, family is lost, an earthly provider is lost, and the false peace of this world is shattered. Let that be the Spirit's occasion to speak, for when the gates of society are shut, the gates of mercy are not shut. The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Pray that these miseries may become messengers of mercy, driving the bereaved and terrified from every earthly prop to the Rock of Ages.

Let us bring this sorrow before the mercy of God, for the earthquake has swallowed houses, families, and the one who provided for them, and it has taken away the outward peace they had. But we must not pray as if Christ’s peace were the same as the world’s peace. The Lord said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you.” The peace He gives is peace with God and with one another, and it makes a person stronger than outward trouble. Ask God to give the survivors this peace through Jesus Christ alone, for no house built on sand can stand against earthquake and fire, but the soul built on the rock remains unshaken.
Pray also for their bodily needs. The Apostle teaches that anyone who does not provide for his own household has denied the faith. Therefore let the Church and all who have means be moved to provide shelter, food, and care for the widows, orphans, and destitute. Let no one think that his own uprightness is enough while he leaves his neighbor in ruins. And let the survivors not be consumed with anxiety about what remains, but leave their interests to God, for if God provides, He provides as God.
