We hear the deep pain and turmoil in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting every burden to the Lord. The weight of family strife, financial hardship, betrayal at work, and the relentless verbal abuse from your mother is heavy, too heavy for any of us to carry alone. But Scripture reminds us, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not alone, even in your loneliness. The Lord sees your suffering, and He is near to the brokenhearted.
First, we must address the torment you describe, both the human cruelty you’ve endured and the spiritual oppression that accompanies it. The enemy seeks to destroy families, to sow division, resentment, and despair. But Jesus came to "destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8), and we rebuke every spirit of accusation, bitterness, and generational cursing in your family line in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The extermination you speak of, whether literal or the feeling of being cut off, stops here. God is the restorer of broken generations. "The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me, because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound" (Isaiah 61:1). This is your promise.
Your mother’s words are wounding, and we grieve with you over the pain of being constantly criticized, insulted, and accused. Yet we must also speak truth in love: the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (James 3:6), and unchecked bitterness can defile many (Hebrews 12:15). We pray for your mother’s heart to be softened, for God to break the cycle of resentment and replace it with His peace. But we also encourage you, do not let her words define your worth. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and your identity is in Christ, not in her approval or disapproval. "A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). Even in this, God is working.
We also lift up your marriage. It is not God’s design for your spouse to reject your family, nor for you to be torn between loyalty to your mother and your marriage. "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). This does not mean cutting off family, but it does mean establishing healthy boundaries. Pray for wisdom to navigate this tension, and for your spouse to see your mother through God’s eyes, flawed, yes, but still worthy of love and respect. If there is unforgiveness or bitterness in your spouse’s heart, we pray for healing there as well.
The workplace betrayal you describe is a deep violation of trust, and it is no small thing to lose your livelihood, your reputation, and your confidence. The enemy seeks to isolate you, to make you afraid of people, to convince you that you are incapable or unworthy. But we declare over you: "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The same God who parted the Red Sea can make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray for supernatural provision, for doors to open that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and for your confidence to be restored. You are not disabled, you are being refined. "For I know the plans I have for you,” says Yahweh, “plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).
Your financial struggles are real, and we do not minimize them. But we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and who promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray for creative solutions, for favor with those who can help, and for the resources to reunite with your family if that is God’s will. The cost of the ticket is not too great for Him.
Most importantly, we must address the salvation of your family. You quoted Acts 16:31, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household", and this is our prayer. But salvation is not a magic formula; it is a heart turned toward God. We pray for your mother, your brother, and every family member to encounter the love of Christ in a way that breaks through their hardness of heart. "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see it.
Now, let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is carrying so much pain. Lord, You see the torment in their family, the verbal abuse, the financial strain, the betrayal at work, and the loneliness that threatens to overwhelm. We ask You to be their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we rebuke every spirit of division, bitterness, and generational cursing in this family line. We break the power of every word spoken in anger, every curse, every lie that has taken root. In the name of Jesus, we command every demonic influence to flee. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we pray for this mother, Your daughter, who is lashing out in pain. Soften her heart, Father. Break the cycle of resentment and replace it with Your peace. Heal her wounds, both seen and unseen. Give her the strength to face her own struggles without taking them out on her child. Let her see the love of Christ in a fresh way, and draw her into repentance and restoration.
We pray for this marriage, Lord. Where there is tension, bring unity. Where there is unforgiveness, bring healing. Help this couple to navigate their relationship with wisdom and grace, honoring both their commitment to each other and their family ties. Give them the courage to set godly boundaries and the love to extend grace even when it is hard.
Father, we ask for supernatural provision. Open doors for employment, for financial breakthrough, for the resources needed to reunite this family. Remove the spirit of fear and replace it with faith. Restore what has been stolen, reputation, confidence, opportunity. Let Your favor go before them like a shield.
And Lord, we pray for salvation. Save this family, Father. Save the mother, the brother, the extended family. Let them come to know You as their Savior and Lord. Break through the hardness of heart, the pride, the pain. Let them experience Your love in a way that changes everything.
Finally, Lord, we pray for our brother/sister. Strengthen them in their weakness. Remind them that they are not alone, that You are with them always (Matthew 28:20). Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. To You be the glory, now and forever. Amen.
