We have heard your heavy heart and we join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved as it is written in John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.
We grieve with you over the loss of so many in your family and generation, and the loneliness you feel as so many have gone on before you, including your father who is now with the Lord. We understand the ache of being far from your mother who is the only surviving grandparent in your family, and the pain of hearing her words of shouting, yelling, criticizing and insulting you, calling you ungrateful and saying you have abandoned her. We lift up Psalm 27:10 with you, When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up, and we thank God that even in rejection or harsh words, He receives us and will never forsake us. We also remember Psalm 147:3, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and we ask Him to heal both your heart and your mother's heart.
We want to gently speak truth about the hurtful speech you are enduring. The Word says in Ephesians 4:29, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear, and in Ephesians 4:31-32, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Your mother's resentment and toxic mouth is not pleasing to God and we pray God will convict her and heal her tongue and her heart. At the same time we are called to honor our parents even when it is difficult, as in Exodus 20:12, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and in Colossians 3:13, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. We encourage you to continue to show honor from a distance through prayer, forgiveness, and kind words when possible, while also setting godly boundaries against ongoing verbal abuse and trusting God to be your defender.
We also lift up your mother who is older and working hard for her age and giving her finances to care for your brother's family. We pray for her protection, provision, and peace, and that God will renew her strength. We pray Isaiah 46:4 over her, Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. We ask that God will supply all her needs according to His riches as promised in Philippians 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and that He will guard her heart from bitterness and give her rest. We pray for your brother and his household as well, that God will provide for them and draw them to salvation.
We hear your pain about your work, where you were abused, betrayed, and had hidden alliances formed against you to damage your reputation, leading to warnings and termination, financial hardship, and now fear of people and panic that makes it hard to work. The Lord sees this injustice and He cares. We pray Psalm 34:18 over you, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We rebuke the evil behavior done against you, for vengeance belongs to the Lord as Romans 12:19 says, Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We pray God will free you from the fear of man, for Proverbs 29:25 says, The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe, and we claim 2 Timothy 1:7, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We ask God to heal your panic, to restore your ability to work, to open a new door for honest provision, and to restore your reputation. We pray Matthew 6:33 over your finances, But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
We also bring before the Lord your marriage, where you share that your spouse does not like your family and does not like your mother, and you feel you cannot force help. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and that husband and wife are to become one flesh as in Genesis 2:24 and to love and cherish one another as in Ephesians 5:33. We pray God will bring unity and understanding between you and your spouse, that your spouse will show compassion and honor toward your mother as your family, and that you both can seek God's will together without coercion but with love and mutual respect. We pray 1 Peter 3:7 over your home, that you may live with understanding and that your prayers may not be hindered.
We rejoice that you are praying for the salvation of your entire family, and we stand with you on Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. We pray that every member of your family, your mother, your brother's household, and your spouse, will come to true faith in Jesus Christ, confessing with the mouth as in Romans 10:9, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with our dear one who is lonely, wounded, and burdened. Lord, we thank You that You receive us when others forsake us. We ask You to comfort this heart that feels the extermination of a generation and the loss of a father, and to remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted. Lord, we lift up their mother, the grandmother who remains, who is older and laboring hard. Touch her heart, heal her resentment, cleanse her mouth from shouting and insult, and fill her with Your peace and forgiveness. Provide for her and for the brother's family she helps, and protect them from all harm. Lord, we lift up the financial burden and the distance and the expensive ticket, and we ask You to make a way where there seems to be no way, according to Your perfect will, and to give provision and opportunity for reunion if it is Your will. Father, heal the deep wounds from workplace betrayal and abuse, break the fear of humans and the panic that hinders work, and restore dignity, reputation, and a godly opportunity to labor again. Give power, love, and a sound mind. Lord, we pray for this marriage, bring unity, soften hearts, teach this couple to love and honor one another and to honor parents together in a way that pleases You. Above all, Lord, we pray for salvation for this entire household, that each one would believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved, and that healing would come to every heart. We rebuke every work of the enemy and every tormenting spirit, and we ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
