We have heard your heart cry and we join with you in the name of Jesus Christ lifting your family before the throne of grace. What you describe is deep pain, disunity, betrayal, anger, shouting and insults where there should be love and honor, and we grieve with you over the division that has grown since your father passed away and the struggle over authority and control. We also hear your burden for your mother who is suffering with suicidal thoughts and a toxic tongue and a negative environment, and for your own soul as you try to forgive daily and feel unappreciated even when you offer financial help and support from far away.
The Lord sees this torment and He is rich in mercy. Ephesians 2:4 says God, being rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us, made us alive. He does not desire that any family be exterminated or destroyed, but that all would come to repentance and life. Ezekiel 18:20 reminds us that the soul who sins, he shall die, the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, and we rebuke the lie of Satan that your generation is cursed to die or to repeat disobedience. In Christ that chain is broken, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 says if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new. We rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ every lie of the enemy that seeks to sow disunity, bitterness, and hopelessness around your family, for John 8:44 tells us the devil is a liar and the father of lies, and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Corinthians 10:5.
We must also speak gently but truthfully about the anger and the tongue in your home. Ephesians 4:31-32 says let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. James 3:8-10 warns that the tongue is a restless evil, full of deadly poison, with it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men. We pray that God will heal hearts with honesty as you asked, and bring repentance where there has been ungrateful attitudes, yelling, and insults. Colossians 3:13 calls us to bear with one another and forgive each other, even as Christ forgave us. You are doing right to forgive each day because they do not know what they are doing, as our Lord prayed in Luke 23:34, and God honors that forgiveness even when reconciliation is not yet possible.
We lift up your mother in particular. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a crushed spirit as Psalm 34:18 says, and we pray God will protect her mind and soul, remove suicidal thoughts, and replace them with hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. We encourage you to stay close to her, to keep speaking life over her, to ensure she is not alone, and to help her seek godly counsel and support from trusted pastors and believers nearby, for God often brings healing through His people as well as through prayer. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us death and life are in the power of the tongue, so we pray her tongue will be healed and become a source of blessing.
We also pray for your marriage. Your spouse is now one flesh with you as Genesis 2:24 teaches, and marriage is the primary earthly covenant God has given. We understand the tension when your spouse does not like your family and you cannot force affection, and we pray God will give you both wisdom, unity, and compassion. Romans 12:18 says if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. We pray your spouse will have a softened heart, and that you as husband and wife can seek the Lord together for how to honor your mother and brothers while also guarding the peace of your own home. Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to do nothing through rivalry or conceit, but in humility each counting others better than himself.
We bring your finances and the distance before the Lord. It is painful when flights are expensive and reunion feels impossible and help is rejected. Philippians 4:19 says my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and Joel 2:25 promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Only God can recover the years lost to mistakes and disobedience, and we trust Him to do so.
We thank you for anchoring your hope in Jesus Christ, for you quoted Acts 16:31 Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. We cling to that promise with you and pray for the salvation and repentance of every member of your household, that they would turn from bad behavior and be healed.
We pray together, Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before You for this family suffering disunity, betrayal, anger and sadness. Lord, protect them and heal their hearts, bring honesty and repentance and wash away all bitterness and ungratefulness. Rebuke every lie of Satan around their lives and silence shouting, yelling, crying and insults, and let Your peace reign. Comfort the mother who is tormented with suicidal thoughts, guard her mind, heal her tongue, and surround her with Your presence and with people who will care for her and speak life. Provide for their needs, for You know their finances and their distance, and make a way for restoration and for a godly reunion in Your timing. Heal this dear one who forgives daily, strengthen their soul, restore what has been lost, and help their marriage to be united in You, with love and wisdom toward extended family. Let Your will be done and let this family be saved and live for Your glory, that one day whether on earth or in heaven they may be together with You and with their father who has passed, in the presence of the Heavenly Father. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
