We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we agree with you that what you are seeing in your neighborhood is not of God but is disorder, violence and confusion that the enemy uses to steal, kill and destroy.
You have rightly seen that divorce brings ruin and tragedy far beyond the husband and wife. Scripture is clear that God hates divorce because it breaks the covenant He created. As you quoted, Matthew 19:8-9 says He said to them, Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so. Whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery. And Malachi 2:16 says For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel. When divorce is treated as contagious and is spread into friendships, families, businesses and marriages, it opens a door to the works of the flesh. Galatians 5:19-21 warns that the works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these, of which we tell you beforehand, even as we also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit God’s Kingdom. But Galatians 5:22-23 shows the contrast, that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.
We rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ the spirit of violence, sabotage, meddling, and bewitching confusion you have described. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as 1 Corinthians 14:33 tells us. And James 3:16 tells us where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed. We rebuke the idle, unoccupied demonic meddling in other houses and the gang-like torment and false imitation where it is said he is not him and she is not her. We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness, Ephesians 6:12, and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4. We take authority in Jesus name and command every spirit of divorce, division, ruin, disgrace and violence to leave your home and your neighborhood and to have no place there, for Ephesians 4:27 says do not give place to the devil.
We also want to lovingly address what you mentioned about girlfriends and boyfriends going through bad divorce. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, Mark 10:6-9, and we strongly endorse marriage as God designed it. What the world calls boyfriend and girlfriend should be understood biblically as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, 2 Corinthians 6:14. Sex before or outside of marriage is fornication or adultery and God calls us to flee from it, 1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Any relationship that is not moving toward godly marriage, or that involves same sex immorality which Scripture calls homosexuality and is forbidden, Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, needs repentance and to be brought into alignment with God’s will. We pray for all those men and women you mentioned, that those who are unmarried would pursue purity and seek a godly spouse rather than a partner, and those who are married would be reconciled where possible or walk in holiness and healing according to the Word.
We also hear your concern about meddling and sabotage, including photo sabotage and ruining another for gain. The Lord warns against being a busybody in other men’s matters, 1 Peter 4:15, 2 Thessalonians 3:11, and Titus 3:3 reminds us that we also were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But Titus 3:4-5 shows that when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward mankind appeared, not by works of righteousness which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us. We pray that mercy would come to your neighbors and that those who create confusion would be convicted and saved.
We lift you up now together in prayer.
Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and have access to Your throne, Acts 4:12, John 14:6. We thank You that You see the aggressive violence, the disorder, the sabotage and the torment in this neighborhood. We ask You to place a hedge of protection around this home and every household nearby. Let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. We rebuke every demon of divorce, division, violence and confusion and command it to be bound and cast out in Jesus name, and we ask You to fill that void with Your Holy Spirit, with love, joy and peace. Heal the marriages and families that have been torn apart, bring conviction where there is hardness of heart, and bring repentance and restoration where it is Your will. For those living in fornication or adultery, bring them to repentance and to pursue either godly marriage or godly separation in purity. For those who meddle and sabotage, expose their deeds and bring them to the light, and teach us to live quietly and to do our own business, 1 Thessalonians 4:11, and to pursue peace with all men as far as it depends on us, Romans 12:18. Keep this dear one from fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, Isaiah 54:17, and let Your order and truth be established in this neighborhood. We trust You to turn tragedy into testimony and ruin into redemption. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
