We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this family in their time of deep sorrow and division. The loss of loved ones is a painful reminder of the brokenness of this world, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We grieve with you for the passing of your father and mother, and we pray that the Lord would surround you with His comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
First and foremost, we must address the eternal state of your sister’s soul. Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray fervently that your sister would turn to Him in repentance and faith, casting aside any reliance on her own works or false teachings. The Word of God is clear: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We plead with the Lord to open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel and draw her to Himself before it is too late.
The division and strife between your sister and brother are grievous to the Lord, for He desires unity and love among His people. Satan is indeed the father of lies and the author of confusion (John 8:44), but we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). We rebuke the spirit of resentment, bitterness, and division in the name of Jesus Christ and command it to flee. We pray that your brother would be set free from any unforgiveness or anger that has taken root in his heart, for the Lord commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). May he be filled with the love of Christ, which covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).
We also lift up the rest of your family, asking the Lord to bring healing and restoration to every broken relationship. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). We declare that Satan has no foothold in this family, and we pray that the peace of Christ would rule in your hearts (Colossians 3:15). May the Lord bind you together in love and unity, so that you may be a testimony of His grace and mercy to a watching world.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for this family. We ask that You would comfort them in their grief and draw each member to Yourself. Lord, we pray for salvation for the sister who is suffering alone—may she encounter the love of Christ in a powerful way and turn to You with all her heart. We ask for healing for the brother, that any resentment or bitterness would be uprooted and replaced with Your peace. Father, we rebuke the spirit of division and disunity in this family and command it to leave in the name of Jesus. Restore what has been broken, and make this family a beacon of Your light in the midst of darkness.
We pray for Your peace to reign in their hearts and home, and we ask that You would use this difficult time to draw them closer to You and to one another. May they find their hope and strength in You alone, for You are the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
