We stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already disarmed the powers of darkness (Colossians 2:15), and we take up the sword of the Spirit to rebuke every lying tongue, every spirit of division, and every demonic influence sowing discord among neighbors, families, and marriages.
First, we must address the root of this torment: **gossip**. Scripture is clear that a perverse person stirs up conflict, and gossip separates close friends (Proverbs 16:28). The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity that sets the whole course of life on fire by hell (James 3:6). Let the Lord shut the mouths of those who speak with malice and envy, for "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:21). Next, we confront the **spirit of divorce** that has taken hold. Marriage is a sacred covenant, not to be broken except in the gravest of circumstances (Matthew 19:8-9).
