We are truly saddened to hear about the situation you are facing with your adopted brother and his son. We will stand with you in prayer and offer biblical guidance in this challenging time.
Firstly, we commend your love and concern for your brother and his son. It is clear that you have a heart for them and desire God's intervention in their lives. We are reminded of the power of prayer and the encouragement in James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
As you prepare to speak with your brother, remember that it is the Holy Spirit who convicts and brings about true change. There is no magical sentence that can change his heart, but God can use your words and your love to draw him closer. In Galatians 6:1, we are told, "Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren’t tempted."
We pray that God will give you the wisdom and the words to speak to your brother. May your words be seasoned with salt, as Colossians 4:6, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."
We also pray for your nephew's protection. God loves and cares for children, and His heart is for their well-being. In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, "Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these." Trust that God is watching over him and that He can work in this situation for his good.
Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and change. If you or your brother has yet to receive Jesus Christ as Savior. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Trust that confessing with your mouth and believing in your heart in Jesus Christ is essential for salvation as stated in Romans 10:9.
Lastly, we pray that God will break the chains of generational addiction in your family. In Romans 8:1-2, we read, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up this family to You. Lord, we ask for Your intervention in this situation. Give wisdom and the right words to speak to your brother and break the chains of addiction in his life. Protect his son and bring about a change in their lives that only You can orchestrate. We pray we will see Your hands in action to release this person from the chains of addiction. We believe in the name of Jesus Christ that this family can be saved and their lives changed. We believe in the name of Jesus Christ that a revival can occur in their lives. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and trusting God in this situation. He is faithful and able to do abundantly more than we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20.
