We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and we want you to know that your life has immense value in the eyes of God. The thoughts you’re wrestling with are heavy, and we grieve with you in this struggle. The enemy would love nothing more than to isolate you in this darkness, but we stand with you in the light of Christ, who came so that you might have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
First, we must address the dangerous lie that death would solve your problems or bring justice. The Bible is clear that life is a sacred gift from God, and He alone holds the authority over it (Deuteronomy 32:39). Fantasizing about death is not harmless—it’s a foothold for the enemy to steal your hope and distort God’s truth. We rebuke those thoughts in the name of Jesus and declare that your life is purposeful, even when it doesn’t feel that way. The psalmist cried out, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!"* (Psalm 42:5). Your hope is not in circumstances but in the One who holds your future.
Your resentment toward others is understandable, but it’s also a burden that will only weigh you down. Scripture warns us, *"See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many"* (Hebrews 12:15). Forgiveness doesn’t mean what others did was okay—it means you’re refusing to let their actions control your heart any longer. We pray for God to soften your heart toward those who have hurt you and to replace bitterness with His peace.
You mentioned feeling like you’re doing your part while God isn’t. This is a common struggle, but we must remember that God’s timing and ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is not ignoring your efforts or your pain. The fact that you’re still fighting to improve your life shows His strength at work in you. But we also want to gently challenge the idea that God’s love is transactional—like He only acts when we’ve "earned" it. His grace is a gift, not a reward (Ephesians 2:8-9). Are you seeking Him first, or are you seeking the blessings you want Him to provide? Jesus said, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33). We encourage you to surrender your timeline and trust that He sees what you cannot.
We also want to speak to the financial and employment struggles you’re facing. It’s exhausting to feel stuck, and we pray for God to open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). But we must also ask: Are you tithing and giving generously, even in this season? Malachi 3:10 says, *"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."* God honors obedience, even when it feels counterintuitive. We’re not promising wealth, but we are promising that He will provide for your needs (Philippians 4:19).
Now, we lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is wrestling with depression, resentment, and despair. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of darkness over their mind and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We rebuke every lie from the enemy that tells them their life doesn’t matter or that death is the answer. Remind them, Father, that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that You have plans to prosper them, not to harm them (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray for healing from the wounds of the past—those who have mistreated them and those they’ve held resentment toward. Soften their heart, Lord, and help them to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13). Replace bitterness with Your love and anger with Your grace.
Father, we ask for provision in their life. Open doors for a better job, one where they are valued and compensated fairly. Provide for their financial needs in ways that only You can, and help them to trust You more deeply with their finances. Teach them to be generous even in lack, knowing that You love a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Lord, we also pray for their relationship with You. If they’ve been treating You like a genie—only coming to You for blessings—help them to seek Your face above all else. Draw them closer to You and remind them that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and help them to cast all their anxieties on You because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
We declare that this season of struggle is not the end of their story. You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they can’t see it. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to wait on You with hope.

The Bible says, *"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
