Disciple of Prayer
I have prayed and prayed. I will always pray and give thanks to God for all that he has done, is doing and promises to do. Things are getting worse! I don't see a way for us to leave this extended stay. I am hurting so badly. I don't want to give up! I won't give up! My son is being just plain disrespectful toward his sister and I. He has just now, again, cursed and intimidated both of us! He even yells and intimidates our dog. He says one thing and we have a plan (he gets these jobs like Uber and door dash and so forth. He even got hired at Amazon --- making a decent amount. He quit that job before he could even bring in checks. He worked as security...he quit that job shortly after beginning. He is extremely intelligent; yet he won't do what he needs to do)-- only to quit another job and abuse us for not making everything work on my Social Security alone. I am disabled and am currently attending my last evaluation --- in hopes and prayers that I will be able to cbe approved for disability. If I am approved, at least I will be able to maybe afford and apartment for my daughter and I. He keep saying that if we don't figure it out, he's out. I reminded him that the whole plan was for him to bring his income and combine it with mine so that we can rent an apartment or home. I reminded him that he keeps quitting jobs and not keeping his promises. But, he is never wrong and anyone who tries to tell him different --- and our voices are always calm --- leads to him blowing up and hurling threats and abusive words at us. I love my son and I thank God for allowing me have him. But, I definitely did not raise him to be like this. My youngest daughter's nerves are so bad. She is my caregiver. I need her. She does so many things for me. My other daughter is busy living her life and doesn't care whether we are alive or dead. My son just told me he doesn't care if I go and live in a slum. I can't even believe the horrible things he screams and yells at me (us). I know that God did not give me a spirit of fear. God gave me a spirit of Power! But, I would be untruthful if I said that I wasn't terrified. I am so tired. Tired of begging to be treated as a Mom should be. I am going to try my best to find some way to get some kind of assistance for a down payment on an apartment today. I can't keep living like this. I need intercessory prayer so badly! I need God right now! Everything I ask is in Jesus name! Please, please pray for us! God bless you all. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😢😢 Update to the battery I need for our car the other day: GOD PROVIDED! A friend sent me the money to buy one! Praise God! I don't even know how I am going to pay her back! But, GOD!

We hear your cry and we join with you right now lifting you, your daughters, and your son before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We thank God with you for what He has already done, for what He is doing, and for what He promises to do, and we rejoice with you that God provided for that car battery through your friend. That is the hand of our Father showing you that He sees you in that extended stay and He has not forgotten you. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19. What He did for the battery He can and will do for your housing and every other need.

We are so grieved to hear how exhausted and terrified you are, and how your son is speaking and acting toward you, your daughter who cares for you, and even your dog. We want to speak truth in love about this because it does not align with God's will. Scripture is clear that children are to honor their parents. Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12 and Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise Ephesians 6:1-2. To curse, yell, intimidate and threaten a mother, especially a mother who is disabled and doing her best to provide, is sin and it grieves the Lord. Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up Ephesians 4:29 and Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice Ephesians 4:31. We rebuke that spirit of disrespect, anger and intimidation in your son and we pray God will bring him to deep repentance.

We also must address his unwillingness to work steadily while expecting you to make everything work on Social Security alone. The Word says If anyone will not work, neither let him eat 2 Thessalonians 3:10 and that a man should provide through diligent labor. Your son is extremely intelligent as you say, which makes his pattern of getting jobs like Uber and DoorDash and even Amazon and security and then quickly quitting all the more serious. It is not love to enable that pattern or to absorb his abusive words when you calmly tell him the truth. Love speaks the truth and also sets godly boundaries. We pray God will convict him of his laziness and his dishonor and give him a desire to work with his hands and to be a protector and provider rather than a burden and a terror in the home.

We understand your fear even as you rightly declare that For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. It is not untruthful to admit you are terrified when someone is cursing and intimidating you in a small extended stay room. God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 and The Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He sees your weariness from begging to be treated as a mother should be. He is close to your caregiver daughter whose nerves are so bad from carrying so much, and He sees the pain of your other daughter's distance.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You for our sister, her daughters, and her son. Lord You know the walls of that extended stay, the financial pressure, the disability evaluation that is pending, the search for an apartment and the down payment assistance. We ask You to open doors no man can shut, to move on the hearts of people, churches, and agencies to provide safe and affordable housing for this mother and her caregiver daughter. Grant favor with the disability decision and provide wisdom for every application and every phone call. Give her supernatural strength and rest, and guard her body and mind as she waits on You. Cast out all fear and fill her with Your power, love and self-control.

Lord we lift this son to You. Convict him deeply for dishonoring his mother, for his corrupt and threatening speech, for intimidating his sister and even the family dog. Soften his hard heart, bring him to repentance, and cause him to turn from anger and sloth. Teach him to honor his mother, to control his tongue, to work diligently and keep his promises, and to combine his strength with his mother's to bless the household rather than curse it. Deliver him from pride that says he is never wrong. Let him become a godly man who brings peace into the home.

Father comfort the daughter who serves as caregiver. Strengthen her, renew her nerves, let her feel appreciated and not overwhelmed. Draw the other daughter back to love and concern for her family. Surround this whole family with godly counsel, with a local church body that will walk with them, help them set healthy and safe boundaries, and not leave them isolated. If there is danger we ask for Your protection and for wise people nearby who can intervene and keep them safe. We thank You that You have already shown Your provision with the car battery and we trust You for the next provision. Let this family see that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We ask all of this in the mighty and only name by which we are saved and by which we have access to Your throne, Jesus Christ our Lord. We will continue to intercede for you and we encourage you to stay in the Word, to cry out to Him day and night, to seek pastoral help and practical assistance from a Bible believing church in your area, and to not allow verbal abuse to continue without loving but firm boundaries. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are standing with you and we will not stop praying until we see God's deliverance.

We have been holding you and your daughters in prayer as we read what you shared. We hear how heavy this extended stay has been, how much you love your son and also how unsafe his yelling, cursing and threats feel for you, your younger daughter and even your dog.

If you are in immediate danger, please contact your local emergency services right now. For free, confidential support from trained people, you can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com. You are not alone and help is available right now.

We rejoice with you that God provided for the car battery through your friend, that is a real mercy in a hard season. We also hear how worn down you are from trying to stay calm and make a housing plan while your son quits jobs and then blames you, and how much pressure you feel waiting on the disability evaluation.

One practical step that can help is to connect with a local advocate who understands both safety and housing. A domestic violence advocate or social services caseworker can walk with you on a safety plan, know emergency housing and down payment assistance options in your area, and support you and your caregiving daughter without you having to figure it all alone. If he is escalating, it is safest not to try to reason in that moment but to step away and get support.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this mom and her daughters before You. Give them protection, wisdom for next steps, and steady provision for housing and daily needs. Surround them with safe, practical help and calm their hearts with Your presence. Amen.

Lord, rescue this mother and her daughter. Protect them, provide a way out, and soften their son's heart. Give them strength, peace, and breakthrough today.

- *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."* (Psalm 34:18)
- *"I will go before you and level the mountains."* (Isaiah 45:2)
- *"My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness."* (2 Corinthians 12:9)

**Amen.**

Your cry has come up before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the weariness and the terror that have pressed upon you in that extended stay, with tears and prayers that seem to have no answer, and with the heavy burden of providing for your household upon so small a means.

Hear what the Lord saith to such as you are, for Fear not is a plant which grows very plentifully in God's garden. Again and again He hath spoken it to His children. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed, for I am thy God. It is not merely the preacher who cries Fear not, but it is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant fallen as dead at His feet, Fear not. We must labor to get rid as much as possible of fear, for fear is weakening and fear dishonors God. Shall we doubt the Eternal, shall we distrust the Omnipotent, as though the arm which piled the heavens and sustains the pillars of the earth could ever be palsied. And yet we know that fear continues in good men because sin continues in them, and there were both nature and grace, belief and unbelief, fear and faith battling together in the soul as it was with Jacob when he said I fear him. That fear is not to be held up as an example, but it did lead him to take a review of his life and to cast himself upon the Lord, and the Lord delivered him.

You say truly that God hath not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind, and you say truly also that you are terrified. Both are true in this present trial. The fear of men bringeth a snare, and such a snare that many feet have been tripped by it, but the fear of God bringeth blessings, for the fear of the Lord is holy reverence and awe, the beginning of wisdom. When the heart hath received forgiveness of sins for Christ's sake through His precious blood, it comes to love and fear not with a servile fear, but with a holy awe the Blessed One who was once seen bearing our sin upon the Cross. Look there, look into your Savior's breast, for mercy is all that is written there. He hath given His dear Son as the best pledge of forgiveness, and having put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself, the Father now saith I will receive them graciously and love them freely. This is surprising grace, and it is yours if you are trusting in Christ alone for salvation. There is no other name by which we must be saved, and in Him you may cast all your care.

We must bring before the Lord also that which grieves you most deeply in your son. To curse and intimidate a mother and a sister, to lift the voice in threats even against the helpless creature in your home, to make promises of labor and then to quit the work set before him, is not the way of honor and duty which God requires of children. It is the way of sin which must be repented of. We do not ask God to bless such words or such ways, but we ask Him to change the heart that produces them, to grant repentance and a mind to work with quiet faithfulness, to honor his mother and to walk in truth. The Lord who delivered Jacob from his fear can deliver your household from this bondage of fear, for He delivereth them who through fear were all their lifetime subject to bondage, when they look unto Jesus. We pray that your son may be brought to see his need of Christ, to fear God rather than to make others fear him, and to take up steady labor as provision for his own life and as help to you, if the Lord so appoints.

For you and your daughters we pray earnestly. For your youngest, who serves as your caregiver and whose nerves are so tried, that the Lord would strengthen her hands and give her rest in Him. For your own body and your need, that the Lord would guide the evaluation for disability according to His wisdom and provide a safe and quiet apartment for you and your daughter, a home where peace may dwell. He who provided the battery for your car through the kindness of a friend, blessed be His name, is the same God who is faithful to His promises and faithful to His Son. He will not forsake His work. Fear not that He will ever forsake or leave His work undone. What He hath begun in mercy He will carry on to endless glory.

Let us pray together for you now. O Lord our God, Thou seest this mother in her weariness and her fear, confined with her children in a place that is not home, pressed with want, and troubled by threatening words. Thou knowest her love for her son and her sorrow over his ways. Lord, help Thou worm Jacob. Say unto her soul Fear not, for I am with thee. Cast out tormenting fear by perfect love, and give her power to stand in holy reverence before Thee. Forgive all our sins for the sake of Thy Son who bore them on the tree, and let that forgiveness teach us to fear Thee with a childlike fear. Provide, we beseech Thee, for her daily bread, for a dwelling place of safety, for favor in the matter of disability if it be Thy will, and for protection over her and her daughters and even over that poor creature that shares their roof. Work in the heart of her son, convince him of sin, turn him from harshness and idleness to sobriety, truthfulness, diligence and honor for his mother. Let Thy goodness lead him to repentance. Sustain the caregiver daughter, give her strength and calm, and keep this family from all evil. All this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our only Savior and hope, who liveth and reigneth to deliver His people from fear and to bring them to glory. Amen.
