We hear your cry for help and we join with you in seeking the Lord Jesus Christ for protection and deliverance from the schemes of the enemy, and we thank you for calling upon His holy name.
The trap of the devil is real and subtle, and scripture warns us to be vigilant. We are told to Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 He seeks to deceive, to tempt, and to entangle us in sin, and we are not to be ignorant of his devices. 2 Corinthians 2:11 Yet we take comfort that God has not left us defenseless.
We are called to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 That armor includes truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God, and it is put on daily through prayer and abiding in Christ. We are also promised that if we submit to God and actively resist the enemy, he will flee. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 And we know that No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
So we encourage you to remain close to Jesus, to stay rooted in His word, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in fellowship with other believers who can help keep you accountable. When you feel tempted or ensnared, turn immediately to Him, confess, and ask for His strength, for He is faithful to forgive and to deliver.

Lord, surround them with Your protection and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them discernment to recognize the lies and lures of the enemy, and grant them courage and strength to resist and to stand firm in faith. Help them to put on Your whole armor daily and to walk in Your truth and righteousness. Lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from evil, and when temptation comes, show them the way of escape. Keep their feet from stumbling and their heart fixed upon You. We ask that You draw them ever closer to Jesus, for it is only through Him we have access to You and victory over the enemy. Your cry for help has been heard, and it is a right and needful prayer to pray, Lord Jesus, keep me from the trap of the devil.
Know this, that the devil is malicious and a coward indeed, for he always hits a man when he is down and would fain send a fresh trouble when you are in your worst distress. He will shoot that arrow which says, God has forgotten you and will never move His arm to deliver you. Cast it from you, fling it away to the very depths of the sea. It is unworthy of you to harbor it for a moment. When he comes and says, Your Father has forgotten you, tell him to begone. Say to him, Get thee gone, Satan, tell it to thy own companions, but tell it not to the heir of heaven.
Our Savior, who had experience of what temptation meant, admonished His disciples, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without temptation. He prayed and temptation came, and our Lord Himself was led into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Solitude is no preservative against temptation, and temptations in troops cause their arrows to fly by day. Therefore watch when you are alone, for temptation like a creeping assassin has its dagger for solitary hearts, and watch in public also. You must bolt and bar the door well if you would keep out the devil. Never court temptation by boasting your own capacity, but pray continually, Lead us not into temptation.
There is comfort for you in this, that there is a wall of fire round the people of God, a circle so complete that even the devil, malicious as he is, cannot break through it to do more than the Lord allows. The Lord tries His saints, and though Satan tempts that he may ruin, God overrules it for probation, that the chaff may be sifted from the wheat. Your deliverance is not in your own strength, for you can do nothing and you know it, it must be of free grace only.
That deliverance is already found. God has said, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes undeserved deliverance, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Saved from the devil, saved from evil, that deliverance is an eternal one, nor shall the infernal lion ever be able to rend one sheep or lamb that the Great Shepherd deigns to keep. You have a glorious shield, who is the Lord's anointed, and has turned away all wrath from you, so that none can lay anything to your charge.
We pray for you now, that the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, would keep you, cover you with His shield, and make His ransom your confidence. May He lead you not into temptation, but deliver you from evil, keep your feet from the snare, and give you grace to watch and pray. May He bring you forth with strength, so that you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Trust not in your own virtue, which is a feeble building that will come down at a run, but trust wholly in Him who was tempted and yet without sin, and who lives to keep His people.

Your prayer to never fall into the trap of the devil is a wise and humble prayer, and I join my voice with yours before Jesus Christ to ask for His protection over you.
The Lord knows how real and crafty the enemy is. The devil works by subtlety, often beginning with what seems small, appealing to the desires of the body, to vainglory, and to the love of more, until he leads a soul step by step into his snare. That is why your request for help is so needful. We cannot stand against him in our own strength.
Take courage from what Scripture teaches. No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity, and God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, but with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape, so that you may be able to endure it. This promise means you are not left alone in the struggle. God Himself watches over you and makes a path through every trial for those who look to Him.
Remember also that Jesus Himself, after His baptism and after the Father declared Him the beloved Son, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He endured that conflict for our instruction, so that when we who belong to Him face greater temptations we would not be troubled as if something strange were happening, but would endure with confidence, knowing He has gone before us and has overcome.
So continue to bring this prayer daily to Christ. Ask Him to guard your mind and heart, to keep you watchful, and to give you strength to turn quickly from every appearance of evil. Stay close to Him through regular prayer, through hearing and remembering His Word, through fellowship with faithful believers, and through approaching Him with reverence and a prepared heart. When temptation comes, look at once for the way of escape that God provides, whether it is to flee, to pray, to speak the truth of Scripture as Jesus did, or to seek help from a brother or sister.

Temptation is any situation that draws us toward a fleshly reaction, and in each one we have a choice whether we will walk according to the flesh or according to the Spirit.
The enemy is your adversary, not your friend. He goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, and at other times he comes more quietly to deceive. He does not want your good. His solicitation is always toward evil, and his lie is that you can find immediate fulfillment, joy or relief if you will just turn aside from God's path for a moment. God never solicits anyone to evil. He tests faith to build patience and endurance, but the pull toward evil comes from the enemy working with the desires of our own flesh.
There is great hope in what Scripture promises. God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with every temptation He will make a way of escape so that you can stand under it. He will not force you to take that way, you must choose it. That is why the call is to submit yourself to God first, then to resist the devil, and he will flee from you. As you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. You are not left to fight in your own strength. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world, and Jesus, who was led into temptation and overcame, now lives as your great high priest to help you in the hour of temptation.
