We rejoice in the truth of your declaration that Jesus Christ has triumphed over the devil and all his works! Scripture declares, "The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8 WEB). Indeed, through His death and resurrection, Christ disarmed the powers of darkness and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). The enemy’s schemes are no match for the authority of Jesus’ name, for "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth" (Philippians 2:10 WEB).

Yet we must also remember that while Satan’s defeat is certain, his influence remains until Christ’s return. The apostle Peter warns us to "be sober and self-controlled; be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8 WEB). This is why we must stand firm in faith, resist the devil, and submit ourselves to God (James 4:7). We do not fight against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness, so we must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-12).

Let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that the works of the devil are destroyed, his mouth is silenced, and his plans are brought to nothing by the power of the cross. Lord, we ask You to expose every scheme of the enemy in our lives, our families, and our world. Strengthen us to resist temptation, to walk in holiness, and to stand firm in the truth of Your Word. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so that we may recognize the enemy’s lies and reject them. We bind every spirit of deception, fear, and oppression in Jesus’ mighty name and command them to flee. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in every area of our lives. We trust in Your promise that the gates of hell shall not prevail against Your church (Matthew 16:18). Thank You, Lord, for Your protection, Your power, and Your love. In Jesus’ name, we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain vigilant in prayer and to immerse yourself in Scripture, for "the word of God is living and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12 WEB). The enemy may try to deceive, but the truth of God’s Word will always prevail. Walk in the light of Christ, and do not give the devil a foothold through sin, unforgiveness, or compromise (Ephesians 4:27). Stand firm in the faith, knowing that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Thank you for sharing this prayer with us. We hear your deep desire for Jesus to have the final word over every work and plan of the enemy, to silence every voice that is not His and to bring His peace and protection over your life completely.

It is a right and scriptural prayer you have offered, and I join my heart with yours in it. Our Lord Jesus Christ has indeed won the victory, and the victory is glorious, and the results of this victory are very substantial. Because He poured out His soul unto death, He shall trample upon the serpent, and Satan's power is broken. The promise stands sure, He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

You ask that Christ would completely put an end to all the works of the devil, silence his mouth, and halt all his plans, whether direct or indirect or by any influence whatsoever. This is according to the mind of God. The accuser is a coward who shoots his fiery arrows when the soul is lowest, whispering that God has forsaken you, but that arrow must be cast from you into the depths of the sea. When the devil comes and says your Father has forgotten you, tell him to begone, for you know too much of your Father ever to believe it. Say to him, Get thee gone, Satan.

Let us pray together. O Lord Jesus Christ, Thou great Conqueror who didst overcome the world by the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in Thee, we beseech Thee to manifest Thy victory in this life. Put an end to every work of the devil, silence every accusing mouth, and bring to nothing every plan and device of the evil one, whether it be open or hidden, direct or indirect. We have heard your prayer and we join you in asking the Lord Jesus Christ to be your defense and deliverance. Scripture teaches that the Son of God appeared to destroy the works of the devil, and that through His cross and resurrection He has triumphed over every power of darkness. Satan must obey Christ even against his own will, and he has no authority except what God permits for a time.

We pray with you now that Jesus Christ would guard you completely, silence every accusation and lie of the enemy, and bring to nothing every plan and influence of the devil against you, whether direct or indirect. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, to cover you with His protection, to fill you with His Holy Spirit, and to make you steadfast in faith.

Continue to resist the devil by drawing near to God, remaining in His Word, in prayer, and in the fellowship of His Church. Put on the armor of God, walk in obedience and repentance, and trust not in a formula of words but in the living power of Christ who dwells in you. When temptation or fear comes, call upon Him, for He is faithful to deliver those who are His.

Your prayer is heard and I join you in bringing it before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ.

What you are asking for rests on what Scripture reveals about who Satan is and who Jesus is. Satan is not the opposite of God. His very name means adversary. He is a created being who was perfect from the day he was created until iniquity was found in him, when he chose to exalt himself and rebel. God alone is self existent, without beginning, and over all. Satan has power only as it is permitted, and for a time he has operated as the prince of this world after Adam yielded to his suggestion in the garden and forfeited what God had entrusted to man. That is why when he offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world he could say they had been delivered to him, and Jesus did not dispute the claim.

From the beginning his work has been deception and accusation. In the garden he planted the idea that God was not fair and was holding something good back. He still whispers that today. He also accuses and condemns, and the purpose of that condemnation is to make you feel you should give up and to drive you away from Jesus and away from forgiveness and cleansing. When he tempts and accuses, he is encouraging the alternate choice, the way away from God.

Yet Jesus came to undo those works. Satan did his best to keep Jesus from the cross, offering Him a compromise and an escape from suffering by offering the kingdoms without the cross. Jesus refused the shortcut and went to the cross and paid the price to redeem the world so that it might be God's again. By His death and resurrection He broke the power of the enemy. He is the firstfruits of those who rise from the dead, and when He rose He led captives from their captivity. He Himself said He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Even now Satan must present himself before God and can go only as far as God allows, as we see in the account of Job where he goes to and fro in the earth but could touch Job only within the limits God set. His final end is certain. The place of eternal punishment was prepared not for people but for Satan and the angels who joined his rebellion, and all who choose to cast their lot with him. In the end he will be cast out and silenced forever.

So I pray with you now that the Lord will make that victory real in your life today. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask that You silence every accusation and every lie of the adversary, that You halt every plan and every work of the devil whether direct or indirect, and that You guard this dear one from any influence or connection to evil. Let the power of the cross and the resurrection stand over this life. Where there has been condemnation, bring the assurance of pardon and cleansing through Jesus. Where there has been fear or confusion, bring the peace that comes from knowing You are sovereign and that the enemy is a defeated and limited creature. Help this one to rest not in striving against the adversary in their own strength, but in the finished work of Christ who has redeemed and who will one day claim His purchased possession fully. Keep this heart close to Jesus, resisting the enemy by standing in faith, and fill this life with the confidence that You who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. Amen.

Continue to look to Jesus, to His Word, and to prayer. When accusation comes, remember it is meant to drive you from Him, so run toward Him instead. He is greater, He has overcome, and He will keep you until the day when every work of the enemy is ended forever.
