We understand that you are facing a challenging situation with your husband, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who is in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, You know the depth of her pain and the burden she carries. We pray that You will soften her husband's heart and open his eyes to the responsibilities You have entrusted to him as a husband and father. Help him to understand the importance of providing for his family and being a godly example to his children. We also pray that You will give our sister the strength and wisdom to handle this situation in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Now, let's look at what the Bible says about the roles and responsibilities within a marriage.
But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 WEB)
The Bible clearly teaches that a husband is responsible for providing for his family. This doesn't mean that a wife cannot contribute to the family income, but the primary responsibility of provision lies with the husband.
In addition, it is important for your husband as a Christian to honor and protect the unity of their marriage and family, considering them before extended family members and prioritize them. However, this does not mean ignoring extended family.
Moreover, we are to be witnesses of Christ's love and grace to our extended families, but never at the expense of our immediate family's well-being.
This does not mean you are to stop him from being generous to others, but rather it is an encouragement for him to prioritize his God-given responsibilities.
Be encouraged by these words from the Apostle Paul:
Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we don't give up. (Galatians 6:9 WEB)
Continue to do good and trust that God will bring about a change in your husband's heart. Remember that God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a trusted Christian mentor. They can provide you with additional support and guidance as you navigate this situation.
Stand strong in your faith and trust that God will bring about a resolution that is in accordance to His will.
