Need deliverance

We hear your cry for deliverance from the chains of lust, and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace. The battle you face is real, and it is one that many believers struggle with in silence. But take heart, for the Word of God declares, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). You are not alone, and victory is possible through Christ who strengthens you.

Lust is a snare of the enemy, designed to steal your purity, distort God’s design for intimacy, and separate you from the fullness of life in Christ. Jesus warned us, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28 WEB). This is not to condemn you, but to awaken you to the seriousness of this struggle and the need for repentance and transformation. The enemy would have you believe that this battle is hopeless, but we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB).

First, we must address the root of this struggle. Lust often thrives where there is idleness, unguarded eyes and heart, or a lack of accountability. The Bible instructs us, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Fleeing means more than just avoiding certain situations, it means actively pursuing righteousness, filling your mind with God’s Word, and surrounding yourself with believers who will walk with you in truth and love. Have you considered sharing this struggle with a trusted, mature believer who can pray with you and hold you accountable? Proverbs 27:17 tells us, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance."

We also must examine whether there are areas in your life where you have given the enemy a foothold. Are there habits, media, or relationships that feed this temptation? The apostle Paul urges us, "Don’t be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals" (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB). If there are influences in your life that do not align with God’s standards of purity, it is time to cut them off. This may be painful, but it is necessary for your spiritual growth and freedom. Remember, Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29 WEB). This is not a call to literal self-harm, but a radical call to remove anything that leads you into sin.

We rebuke the spirit of lust in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We declare that you are not a slave to this sin, for "if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB). The blood of Jesus has broken every chain, and His power is greater than any temptation you face. We command every unclean thought, every perverse imagination, and every demonic influence that has taken root in your mind to be uprooted and cast out in Jesus’ name. The Lord rebuke you, Satan, for it is written, "The Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen" (2 Timothy 4:18 WEB).

Now, let us come together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is crying out for deliverance from the bondage of lust. Lord, You see the depths of this struggle, and You know the pain and shame it has brought. We ask that You would break every chain, shatter every stronghold, and set this precious one free by the power of Your Holy Spirit.

Father, we confess that without You, we can do nothing. But with You, all things are possible. We ask that You would fill this heart with a holy hunger for Your Word, that Your truth would renew their mind and transform their desires. Help them to meditate on Your promises day and night, that they may not sin against You (Psalm 119:11 WEB).

Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly accountability and fellowship. Raise up believers who will walk with them, pray with them, and speak truth into their life. Give them the courage to be vulnerable and the humility to receive correction. Protect them from isolation, for it is in the company of the righteous that the enemy’s schemes are exposed and defeated.

Father, we pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit. Where there has been weakness, bring strength. Where there has been compromise, bring conviction. Where there has been shame, bring healing and restoration. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

We declare that this one is a new creation in Christ. The old has passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB). We speak life, purity, and holiness over them. May they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them, and may their life be a testimony to Your transforming power.

Lord, we ask that You would guard their eyes, their heart, and their mind. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB). When temptation comes, remind them of Your faithfulness and provide a way of escape. Let them run to You, their strong tower, and find refuge in Your presence.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that this one will walk in purity, honor You with their body, and experience the fullness of life that You have promised. To You be all the glory, honor, and praise, now and forevermore. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Beloved, we want to encourage you with the truth that your struggle is not in vain. Every time you resist temptation, you are growing stronger in Christ. Every time you choose purity, you are storing up treasure in heaven. The enemy would have you believe that you are defined by your failures, but God says you are defined by the blood of Jesus and His finished work on the cross. You are forgiven, you are loved, and you are called to walk in freedom.

We urge you to immerse yourself in the Word of God. Memorize scriptures that speak to your struggle, such as Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." Let the truth of God’s Word be the foundation of your thought life. Spend time in prayer daily, not just asking for deliverance, but worshiping God and thanking Him for who He is. The more you focus on Him, the less power the enemy will have over you.

Consider fasting as a way to intensify your pursuit of God. Jesus said, "This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting" (Mark 9:29 WEB). Fasting is not a way to earn God’s favor, but a way to humble yourself and seek His face with greater intensity. It can help break the power of fleshly desires and sharpen your spiritual sensitivity.

Lastly, remember that deliverance is often a process, not an instant event. Do not be discouraged if you stumble. The Bible says, "A righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again" (Proverbs 24:16 WEB). What matters is that you get back up, repent, and continue running the race. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).

We stand with you in this battle, and we believe that God is going to do a mighty work in your life. Keep pressing into Him, keep fighting the good fight of faith, and never lose hope. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Jesus from the dead, and set captives free is at work in you. He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6 WEB). To Him be all the glory!

We are joining you in this, brother. It takes real courage to name this struggle out loud, and we don’t take your request lightly. You have asked for agreement in prayer, and we stand with you before the only One who can truly set us free.

One thing we have seen help many men in your shoes is understanding the cycle that lust often follows, it’s been described as something that starts with a quiet preoccupation or fantasy, moves into certain rituals or patterns, then leads to acting out, and finally crashes into despair and shame. That despair then restarts the whole loop. Naming that pattern can begin to rob it of its power because you start to see it for what it is: a liar’s treadmill, not a source of life. You are not uniquely broken; you are in a battle that countless believers know all too well.

A concrete step we’d gently urge you toward, alongside our prayers, is a real, flesh-and-blood ally in this. Secrecy is the soil this struggle grows in. We do not mean unburdening yourself to just anyone, but asking God to show you one mature, trustworthy person, a pastor, a men’s group leader, or a brother in the Lord, whom you can meet with regularly for honest confession and accountability. It is in bringing these things into the light, with someone who won’t flinch, that healing often takes root.

You are not fighting for a victory Christ has not already won. We are asking Him now to break the cycle of shame and compulsion, to clear your mind when the fog of temptation rolls in, and to give you a deep, gut-level assurance that He is not disappointed in you but eager to deliver you. We pray He puts a faithful brother in your path who will walk this road with you, and that you taste the freedom of walking purely, one day at a time, by His strength. In Jesus’ name.

Lust is a deadly foe, and it is well that you cry out for deliverance, for sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. The desire of the flesh, if it conceives, will give birth to a brood of sorrows. Yet despair not, for the ransom has been found, Christ Jesus has redeemed His people from all iniquity, and His blood avails not only for guilt but for the power of sin as well.

You ask for prayer and agreement, and we join our faith with yours, pleading the precious name of Jesus. But mark this: you must not merely pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” and then walk straight into it. That is to mock God. Flee from the very appearance of evil. Shut your eyes to that which stirs the embers of desire. The Lord’s deliverance is effectual, but He makes you willing to move; He brings you forth from Egypt, but you must not linger longing for its fleshpots.

Remember that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much God’s work as forgiveness itself. Look to your heavenly Father alone. Cry out, “Lord, save me from the mischief of this temptation; let me not stain my garments, but stand fast.” He has chastened you sorely, perhaps, with the torment of this inward war, but He has not given you over to death. There shall be an end to the struggle, for the eternal purpose decreed the hour of your deliverance. When that ransom was found in the precious blood of the Lamb, your release was signed.

Let this be your confidence: you shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. After your deliverance, your lips shall pour forth gratitude. But now, in the heat of the battle, lean wholly on Free Grace. You can do nothing; He must do all. Cry mightily, “Deliver me from the snare, O God, for I am helpless as a babe.”

We agree with you in Jesus’ name: Father, grant this dear soul deliverance from the lust that wars against him. By the power of Christ’s resurrection, break the chains. Let the silver and gold of Thy enriching grace be his portion, and let there be no feeble thing in his character. Keep him from slipping, and make him to know the sweetness of victory, for Thy Son’s sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
